Hotel Born Palma

The Born Hotel is an old building with lots of character. It does not have a lift and the stairs can be challenging if you have mobility issues. My wife and I are in our early 70's and managed okay. Especially when we arrived the receptionist, Santi, told us to go to our room and he would bring our cases up within 5 minutes which he duly did. We had booked a basic double room, it had an entrance foyer with a large modern bathroom on one side and an average size bedroom on the other. The bed was very comfortable and the curtain shut out all light at night. It was very quiet with just a little noise from the adjoining bedroom in the morning but nothing that disturbed us. Breakfast was buffet style with a wide range of hot and cold food. You could sit inside or in the courtyard. The hotel is situated up a quiet side street some 50m from the central district of Palma with lots of restaurants and bars. It was the perfect location for our visit to Palma.

Worst breakfast you can ever imagine for such a pricy hotel. Never book it if you like some good food in the morning. There is only cheap ham and cheese. The fruit is very basic, and several are even rotten. And there is no vegetable section at all. I checked reviews before booking, apparently the good cheese, ham, and salmon only exist in summer, and they treated customers coming in winter like nothing. The hotel is so understaffed in the winter, and just make everything much worse.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in August. We both thought the hotel was great. Firstly the location was great for everything. Right in the centre of Palma. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room we had was spacious and kept very clean. We found the breakfasts to be of a good quality and choice. The only slight downside is noise from the courtyard. However this would not stop us from coming back.

I must admit before arriving and after reading some of the reviews my wife and I were a little hesitant. However we found the hotel delightful. Firstly the location could not have been better. The staff were warm and friendly. Our room was spacious and clean. It was on the second floor and yes there is not a lift but it wasn't a problem to us. The breakfasts were of a good quality and there was in our opinion. good choice. The only down side was noise from the courtyard. we didn't find it as bad as other mentioned so that didn't deter us.

Hotel Born was definitely one of the highlight of our honeymoon trip to Spain. Everything about this place was amazing. The workers made us feel at home. Never complained about any of our asks or request. They were quick to assist with regular requests of items such as water (no matter how frequent we asked). Breakfast that came with the place was also delicious and had a good supply. The vibe of the hotel was also cozy and peaceful.

Amazing location absolutely perfect for a girly break in the city. |Lovely staff, spotlessly clean, only slight criticism is the noise in the room of an evening from the bar, but the bar itself whilst there is a lovely space, a small indoor bar would also be a great addition. |Great stay and would return.

Fantastic old style hotel. Staff amazing so helpful with everything. Breakfast was also good.. lovely sitting in courtyard for breakfast and to come back at night and have a drink. Very central to everything. Maybe a little pricey but again it is in centre of palma. Would recommend to my friends and would stay again if I came bk to Palm.

Thank you for a very memorable stay. All the staff were always friendly and very eager to help at all times. The courtyard was beautiful, available for breakfast (which was gorgeous) and evening meals. The music played was considerate and finished at a reasonable time. Those who stayed here who struggled with this need to remind themselves they are in a hotel in a very central location and there is no noise from outside the hotel. The hotel is central so don’t expect car parking (why would you so centrally??) and is located on a traditional narrow lane (2nd reminder, you are in central Palma in the narrow streets, so expect narrow streets!!). The room was perfect, the older reviews suggest the hotel has had a large investment because the interior is spotless, clean and well looked after, the windows are double glazed and well sealed, air conditioning was like a fridge 👌. Thank you to concierge, thank you cleaning staff, thank you restaurant and bar teams, you were all friendly and helpful. We stayed 15th-18th September and so look forward to staying again and for longer.
