Unique hotel in a former convent. The main areas are wonderful. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance of all Cadiz sights. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The rooms are quiet however, dated and need a deep cleaning with a refresh. The bathrooms are small and also need refresh with caulking, tile grout and new towels.

My sympathy goes out to the reviewer who got unfairly roasted for giving this hotel 2 stars back in Feb 2024. Why you might ask – well, in the main, the reviewer’s observations were pretty much bang on the money. We too paid for a superior room that wasn’t the cleanest, and lacked the usual standard amenities…the towels were well past their ‘Use By Date’; there was all of four clothes-hangers on offer; one small bin, etc. In anticipation of whatever riposte this review might raise, it’s not good enough for management to get all defensive in stating that all you have to do is ask reception for the very things that should be there in the room to begin with…besides, it would have been a long list for us? As for the shower experience – it was dreadful, not least of all because it backed up every time within a matter of minutes. The breakfast, while quaint in its setting, was uninspiring at best. While the location and nature/history of the building make this hotel an appealing proposition, it’s punching too far below its weight to recommend it as is.

We stayed here for 5 nights after recommendation from a friend and were certainly not disappointed. Renovated from the cloisters of a church which is still in use, we felt a sense of calm as soon as we entered the courtyard from the bustling streets outside. Don’t be misled by the 1-star official rating - we assume that’s because it doesn’t have a restaurant (for lunch/dinner), pool, gym etc. - but the comfort, decor, service are all very high 4-star in our view. The bedrooms and public areas have retained the character of the convent, whilst also being well-equipped and air-conditioned. Location very convenient for the train/bus stations, city centre and beaches - definitely don’t need a car here. Breakfast was served in the corner of the cloisters, from what would have been a chapel - excellent variety of hot and cold items on the buffet - local and international. We’ll be back!

We booked a Superior twin room, and the bedroom & bathroom were both very modern and spacious. I would say more close to a four star standard than the one star, which is the hotel's official rating. Lovely position and very close to the train station. Historic building which looks amazing. Breakfast is available at extra cost, but there were son many places to eat close by that we didn't bother taking breakfast at the hotel. ||My only criticism was (we had booked via a famous hotel booking website) that the word 'balcony' conjured an image of sat out watching the world go by. However, the balcony is in fact a Juliet Balcony around 12 inches deep, so it is barely possible to stand on it. Any images I had of sat outside sipping my favorite drink, were soon quashed. All the rooms looked to have the same type of 'balcony'. ||Nevertheless, an excellent hotel.

Wonderful boutique hotel with friendly and helpful staff in a very extraordinary building, a former convent! The courtyard is very peaceful with music of chanting monks welcoming the guests to a very generous breakfast buffet! The rooms were generous in space and had everything we needed for a night of rest. Don't expect a 5* accommodation from this convent-turned-hotel! Location is fantastic and within walking minutes to the various sights and Old Town. It was an exceptional experience for us to stay in this hotel, and the Front Desk staff gave us a great recommendation of what town to visit among the Pueblos Blancos!

Amazing location and incredible staff, but lacking in some basics for the price, like wifi and coffee. Liked · The location is perfect. Right next to the train station, and walking distance from the city center. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Disliked · The wifi didn't work unless you stood next to the door, so you couldn't really use it inside the room. The breakfast was ok but they ran out of coffee and never made more. You only get 2 coffees included in your room and have to pay if you want more.

How can this place have ONLY one star?!?!?! From the convenient location very near to train and bus station, friendly reception, peace and quiet (in Spain!), to large rooms and bathrooms, everything was very clean and really ok, particularly for the price. Ok, some furniture might be a bit dated but I actually liked overall look very much. Being so quiet and with meters thick walls, we slept like logs and had great time altogether. And the city of Cadiz surely must be the best kept secret in Spain: not only the old city but also great shopping in HUGE El Corte Ingles, fantastic food and incredible sea promenade with some of the most dramatic sights of the Atlantic in the mist I have ever seen. I cannot wait to come back!

Beautiful setting that had a calming effect, the bell chimes were 👌 in keeping as was the monastery history. My wife and I were also blessed to time or stay with a young couples wedding and the fanfare that entails had my wife enthralled. For the happy couple, I wish for them a long life filled with love and laughter,
