Two Days in: Warsaw

"A luxurious MICHELIN Guide-listed grand hotel right next to the Presidential Palace, this century-old icon was long the city’s most elegant before falling on hard times, and today, after an extensive facelift and new ownership, it has returned to its glory days. Interiors brim with nineteenth-century grandeur, furnished with antiques and Polish artworks, while guest rooms are delightfully old-fashioned, with ornate wall treatments and marble bathrooms, respectably refined to the last detail—an exquisite place to drift into peaceful slumber." - The MICHELIN Guide

Warsaw Travel Guide: This Hip Eastern European City Is One of the Best Places to Travel This Year

"Neighboring the Presidential Palace, this landmark hotel, built in 1901 and one of the few buildings to survive World War II, perfectly captures the neo-Renaissance elegance of a former Warsaw. Its 206 bedrooms and Art Deco-inspired interiors — home to legendary Café Bristol — have welcomed illustrious figures like Marlene Dietrich, Pablo Picasso, President John F. Kennedy, Margaret Thatcher, and Sophia Loren." - Kasia Dietz

Hotel Bristol, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Warsaw (Warsaw, Poland) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"This century-old grand hotel, next door to the Presidential Palace, was long the city’s most elegant before falling on hard times, along with Warsaw itself. Today, as Poland recovers from the twentieth century and joins the new Europe, the Bristol is once again its splendid old self: a neo-Renaissance masterpiece underscored with Art Nouveau elegance, lodging of choice for the Picassos and Dietrichs and Rubinsteins of the world." - Tablet Hotels

An excellent and very elegant hotel in a prime central location. The historic character of the building is beautifully preserved, while the interiors feel refined and comfortable rather than dated. Rooms are spacious, quiet, and very well maintained, with a clear focus on classic luxury. Service throughout the hotel is professional, attentive, and warm. Breakfast is high quality and well organised, and the public areas — lobby, bar, and spa — add to the sense of calm and sophistication. Overall, a reliable luxury hotel with character, history, and consistently high standards. A very strong choice in Warsaw and a place I would gladly return to.

Staying at Hotel Bristol was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment you walk through the doors, you’re surrounded by a unique blend of historical charm and modern luxury that makes this hotel truly stand out in Warsaw.||My room was immaculate — spacious, beautifully furnished, and thoughtfully designed with attention to every detail. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the view added an extra touch of magic to the stay.||The service deserves special recognition. Every member of the staff was professional, friendly, and genuinely attentive. Their warm and efficient approach made me feel very well taken care of throughout my stay.||Breakfast was outstanding, with a wide selection of fresh, high-quality dishes served in a lovely setting. A perfect way to start the day.||Hotel Bristol has a soul - it’s a place where history meets elegance, ideal for both leisure and business trips. I would happily return on my next visit to Warsaw.

My stay at Hotel Bristol was overall very good. The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the housekeeping team did an incredible job. I also really appreciated the special occasion decorations and the attention to detail — it made the experience feel thoughtful and memorable. My only disappointment was with the breakfast service. I’ve stayed at many hotels around the world, and breakfast is usually a highlight. Unfortunately, the food here did not feel fresh, and the service was noticeably slow. I had dirty plates sitting on my table for over 20 minutes before anyone noticed, and at times orders were forgotten completely. To add some perspective, I stayed at a lower-class hotel just a few days earlier in Krakow, and the breakfast service there was substantially better. Aside from this issue, the hotel itself is beautiful, comfortable, and well-maintained. With improvements to the breakfast experience, it would easily be a top-tier stay.

We stayed at Hotel Bristol for one night during our holiday in Poland, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish.||From the moment we arrived, the reception and entire staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. The check-in process was smooth and pleasant, and the level of hospitality throughout our stay was exceptional. The room was fantastic—beautifully appointed, extremely comfortable, and impeccably clean.||Breakfast was delicious with an excellent selection, and the spa and drink facilities were truly outstanding, adding a touch of indulgence to our stay. The hotel itself was stunning, especially with the festive Christmas decorations, which created a warm and elegant atmosphere.||We were especially touched by the thoughtful gestures—bringing us extra water, wine, and fruits—which really reflected the staff’s attention to detail and care for their guests.||A special thank you to Peter, who assisted us during check-in and was incredibly supportive and kind throughout our stay. His professionalism and warmth made a real difference.||I strongly recommend Hotel Bristol as one of the top luxury hotels in Warsaw, and we would happily stay here again.

Google
Bristol Hotel in Warsaw and I'm on a cloud! This 5-star luxury hotel is EVERYTHING and more. Spacious rooms, top-notch staff they adhere to our requests within minutes! One thing, though - can we PLEASE crank up the AC a notch? 😂 It’s a bit too cozy in here but yet the staff was extremely nice and offered us a fan to cool off! Would totally stay again. Overall: 4.5/5 stars ⭐️. Fix that AC, Bristol, and you've got a 5-star fan !

Google
This hotel is marketed as a five-star property, but the overall experience falls well short of that standard. Breakfast service was particularly disappointing. The hostess who seated us also took our drink order, yet our coffee and tea never arrived. After waiting approximately 20 minutes, we approached the same staff member, who apologized and said the drinks were on their way. Five minutes later, she returned to our table and asked us again what we had ordered. This level of disorganization is simply not acceptable in a hotel of this category. As Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite members, we were upgraded to a Deluxe Suite. While the room was spacious and generally pleasant, the experience highlighted a clear gap between hardware and software. The physical product is largely in place, but the service culture lagged. For example at one point a staff member unexpectedly asked to enter the room to inspect the minibar and then exited without any explanation or communication, which felt awkward and unprofessional. More broadly, staff did not appear trained to read guests or anticipate needs without being explicitly told. Despite staying in a large suite, no one offered to assist with luggage or carry it out to the taxi upon departure. Beyond the room, the lobby and common areas lacked the charm, attention to detail, and overall polish one would expect from a true luxury property. The atmosphere felt underwhelming rather than refined. We stay at many five-star hotels across the world for more than 150 days a year, and unfortunately this experience does not meet the 5 star benchmark. While the physical product is adequate, the Bristol currently falls short in service consistency and sophistication, which are essential to delivering a true five-star experience.

Our 1st time to Poland and we happy we choose Bristol Hotel. The location is very strategic for tourists, nearby many tourists attractions (old town, churches etc) and famous polish restaurants and cafes. Hotel Bristol also had sauna rooms (2 rooms) and heated pool which when we came on October it’s very good for us. Service was excellent even the doorman very helpful given us insight about many places. You must try their breakfast with variety choices and tasty also (plus champagne). Definitely our honeymoon highlight to Poland. See you next stay.

Google
+Amazing location Building with great history « grande dame » of the city My suite on the 7th floor was very spacious and cozy Concierge / reception / bar staff , everyone was trying their best ! For Marriott bonvoy members they were soo reactive on the app messaging -The carpeting of the suite needs to be refurbished “it’s the time” Hotel bar is constantly busy , they should keep 2 tables at least to hotel guests , suite guests. Late turn down doesn’t provide same quality as cleaning in the day. Solid hotel , I love it , just mentioning places where it could be improved.

Yelp
VERY NICE hotel!! Great customer service! Lovely couple of bars, a tea/coffee and pastry spot too. Breakfast buffet also with menu options had every kind of breakfast food you could think of. Rooms were spacious and bed were comfortable. We used the hotel car service to get to a local function. All staff members were extremely friendly and they assisted with special requests. Great location to walk through old town and plenty of nearby restaurants. If I can afford it, I will definitely be staying here again in the future!

Yelp
This is not what one would expect for a 5-star hotel luxury collection. Do not stay here. After a long day of travel, we found out the hotel restaurant was closed because they were hosting an event there. While the hotel advertises a high-end restaurant, they offered us a "cafe" as the hotel restaurant that required walking outside and had a menu that could be described as adequate for lunch. The cafe didn't even have a restroom inside. To go to the bathroom, you needed to put your coat on and go back outside in the middle of the winter. While I am eligible for an upgrade due to my Marriott Status, I was told by the check-in staff that the manager did not want to give up the available suite. I would find another hotel.

Yelp
I was here for 5 nights a couple of weeks ago for work. Still wonderful. I had to order room service three nights, and each instance was very good. My food experiences in Poland generally have not been good, but the fare at Hotel Bristol suites my SF Bay Area palette. The breakfast buffet consistently has really good precut pineapple, cantaloupe, and other fruit. They also have Irish-like breakfast options like beans, fried tomatoes, eggs, etc. Croissants are ok, but overall for buffet food it's fantastic. And you can order eggs from the wait staff. I didn't get a butler this time, though :) I must have gotten the royal treatment the first time possibly because they knew it was my first time and wanted to impress. Which they did. Bristol is next to the presidential palace and at the edge of Warsaw's old town. There are protests sometimes there, and the area can be blocked off, but it's a nice part of the city. The Raffles, which is even nicer, is across the street (and I have my sights set on you next). The summer weather I experienced was lovely (30C/85F) and strolling in the old town neighborhood was enjoyable.

Yelp
The Hotel Bristol is part of the Luxury Hotel Collection with SPG. The hotel is located in the Old Town. I was able to book the room after filing for a successful Best Rate Guarantee, which garnered me an extra 2,000 Starpoints. Upon entering the hotel, a tasteful lobby with Old World charm greets you. The front desk is located to the left. Check-in was quick, but thorough and within a few minutes I was on my way to the room. The hallways are elegantly decorated. I was assigned Room 442, a room with two twin beds. Upon entering the room, there is a short hallway with the bedroom to the right. The beds were pushed together, rather than being separate. Great if you are traveling with someone you don't mind sharing a bed with, otherwise awkward. No matter the case, having the crease between both beds can be uncomfortable. There was a bench at the foot of each bed. Two bottles of complimentary water were provided, and much appreciated. To the left of the beds, was a small desk with limited workspace, and two chairs and small table. The flat screen TV was next to one of the chairs, and was easy to view from the beds. Underneath the TV, was the mini bar. The bathroom was somewhat small. There was a single sink with very limited counter space, which is bothersome since I like to have a lot of room. Given that the hotel was built in 1901, I wouldn't imagine that most of the rooms are very spacious. There was also a shower/tub combo with the dreaded half glass shield. As usual, the floor got wet after taking a shower. Elemis products were provided. There was a toilet and bidet, with additional "counter space" above both but I can't imagine anybody wanting to utilize that space unless absolutely necessary except for housekeeping as the towels were stored there. We had a quick overnight at the hotel, but all employees were friendly. The hotel is conveniently located to many shops, restaurants, and sites. If wanting to stay in this area, the Hotel Bristol is an excellent choice.

Yelp
We stopped into the Hotel Bristol for a glass of wine at the bar. We walked into a splendid room with a distinguished gentleman playing a grand piano (lest we forget that Warsaw is Chopin's home). We took a seat and had a glass of wine, coupled with accoutrements. The room coupled with the music made the moment so magical that I had to extend our time over a second glass of wine and warm conversation with my beautiful wife.

Yelp
Best hotel in Warsaw- at edge of Old Town and a quick can to everywhere. Hotel has several bars and restaurants and the wine bar is very nice (order dessert, for sure!!) It is no longer a Meridien- in my view, that's a good thing- place is immaculate and the rooms are amazing. SPG member upgrade was outstanding and staff was excellent.

Yelp
Great hotel for EU. Very good size rooms. Friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet. I was pleased with everything in general. Even the pool and gym are fairly nice for EU hotel standards. Great place for the cost. Quite inexpensive for a Luxury hotel. The chocolates on the pillow at night is a nice and delicious touch.

Yelp
This hotel is so clean and beautiful. The staff speaks English and Polish and are very helpful. An amazing buffet breakfast is provided for guests. The rooms are very elegant and whenever staff is done cleaning chocolate is left on your night stand or bed. The staff is so kind and make your stay at the hotel a very good one.

Yelp
Luxury Collection Bristol Warsaw The Hotel was terrific! It is superior! Everyone goes out of his or her way to help you. We had a super suite that was great. They had Champaign and special cookies waiting for us. The breakfast is terrific. The beds are very comfortable.

Yelp
Unexpectedly awesome. My room was a small suite with a living room and 1.5 baths. Nicely appointed bathroom (apart from the somewhat short glass barrier in the shower that seemed to get things soaked). Bed was extremely comfortable. I slept like a big fat jet-lagged baby. What was surprising was the food. I spend way too much time in hotels and have become used to lackluster food way too often. The wine bar had a gorgeous lox dish (we ordered 3 of those) as well as a duck breast dish that was spectacular. We also had an oddly amazing hamburger in the other restaurant. Breakfast is a buffet, but it was solid.

Yelp
Really nice place to stay, as long as you are not staying there around the 10th of the month. The hotel is located next to the presidential palace therefore access to the hotel is limited because of an ongoing monthly protest staged by one of the political parties. The chances of getting punched in the face by one of the protesters or your typical hooligans are very high.

Yelp
Top notch luxury right in the heart of Warsaw. Wonderful room with view of Presidential Palace. Have a night cap in the Column Bar, live piano music and fun drink menu. Breakfast left a bit to be desired both in offerings and service. The hot items were your typical buffet offerings, bacon, scrabbled eggs, grilled tomatoes, a potato offering, beans, mushrooms and a type of pancake/crepe. The cold buffet did have a nice variety of selections. The whole experience just didn't fit in with the luxury reputation that the hotel has gained. The service was also spotty, had to ask 2 different servers (the second one we had to ask twice) for cream. In their defense, the restaurant was crowded but still, there were plenty of servers running/standing around. Maybe establish a coffee bar where guests can serve themselves. Special recognition goes out to Agnieska at the front desk. She provided a very smooth check-in process. She was also very patient with me when I goofed up our internet service. Turns out you receive a code for access for each day, NOT each device, my bad. Agnieska did explain that during check-in but I was too preoccupied at trying to find a place for pierogis :) Thanks for a wonderful stay Hotel Bristol, we would absolutely recommend your property for anyone visiting Warsaw.

Yelp
Holy mackerel am I happy that I stayed here. Everything about this hotel is incredible. Will recommend to everyone, and at a price that's not a heck of a lot more than garbage hotels in the area. Well worth it.

Yelp
I'm a SPG Platinum 100 member and had a wonderful experience with the Hotel Bristol in Vienna. I had a trip with an anticipated long layover in Warsaw and booked a room at this hotel through the SPG app. My flight plans wound up changing and I tried to cancel the reservation within 12 hours of booking, though I was told the room was fully non-refundable despite no readily apparently disclosure on the app. I contacted SPG customer service and the hotel not only steadfastly refused to cancel the reservation, but then billed my credit card immediately after talking to them (it hasn't even been charged yet). If the spiteful way this hotel treats one of SPG's best customers is indication, I'd avoid it like the plague.

Yelp
Super high end and one of the fanciest hotels I've stayed at. I visited for a work trip and was blown away by how beautiful my room was. I was upgraded to a King suite. The hotel is also in the heart of all activity and walking distance from old town. I would highly recommend this hotel.

M W.

Yelp
To get five stars, you have to knock my socks off. Yeah, one of my rare 5 stars. I was looking for a hotel near the Old Town that had a pool. Typically I don't do luxury hotels, they are not worth the extra cost. Compared to USA hotels, this was relatively inexpensive. From the airport, we got a taxi and told the drive the hotel, he says 'u la la. Number one hotel in Warsaw'. Unfortunately, the street was closed for Sunday afternoon, so he dropped us off near the hotel and pointed at it. The hotel was clean and nice. The staff speaks English. The room we got on the second floor was nice. A king bed, not common in Europe. Nicely appointed room. Marble bathroom. Very nice. We didn't do the breakfast buffet; probably more than I wanted to eat. There were several coffee houses just down the street past the Presidential Palace that sufficed. The pool was an indoor pool off the spa area. Interesting ambiance and nice. The hotel was near the Old Town, some of the museums and the University. Nice location. They do have a service car to the airport that was only a little more expensive than the taxi, so we did use it. Nice and convenient. Overall, a great stay in Warsaw.

Yelp
A gorgeous cultural landmark within walking distance of Old Town. The Neo-Renaissance architecture and romantic interiors are a lovely match to the historic ambiance of its location. Chic rooms with marble bathrooms, helpful staff, and a well-worth-it price tag. Le Mèridien Bristol surely deserves to be part of Starwood's Luxury Collection of hotels!

Discerning T.

Yelp
Nice hotel - clean, quiet, with a good breakfast. The building itself is grand and luxurious, but the room furnishings are old. You shower in a tub that is like a v-shaped hull boat, adding to the adventure was water temperature continuously fluctuating between warm and cold. Pricey.

Yelp
Checked in again for a one night stay as I am leaving Poland. Sad to say that I gave this hotel one more chance. Our room was so small that we could not find a area to open our suitcases, except for the bed. This was a deluxe room that we booked! Our friends that we are traveling with have had the same room experience
