Hotel Cadiz Paseo del Mar | Best places to stay in Cadiz, Andalusia

"Andalusia has no end of beaches, but few are located in a city as fascinating as Cadiz. If you yearn to combine sand, sea and culture, this big modern beach hotel overlooking sandy Playa de Victoria might be just the ticket. Also known as TRYP Cadiz la Caleta, it’s located 2.5km from the central Cadiz, a pleasant walk on the seafront promenade or a short hop on a city bus, and has an underground garage if you’ve brought the car. Rooms have been recently renovated and include family rooms with bunk beds; premium rooms have sea views. Staff are cheerful and helpful, endowed with that special Cadiz sparkle of fun. Pleasant enough hotel, we had a sea view room on the 9th floor which had a stunning view of the beach and sea. Everywhere was clean and tidy although I suspect that the bathrooms are due an update. Breakfast had a decent selection of items although sometimes the hot section wasn't that hot - and was the same every day - no variation. It would have been nice to have at least one channel on the TV in English (most hotels usually have BBC world news if nothing else) Great selections of bars and restaurants around the sea front and the bus stops right outside to take you into the old town. There is a large terrace out the front of the hotel which is used in the afternoon by the hotel bar, would have been nice to sit out there and have a coffee after breakfast but we had to go to a bar for that as its not open which is a shame as its a nice space that is very under used.

My family and I stayed here during a family emergency, on account of the proximity to the hospital. These people were so kind, patient and good to us, even when I was dramatic and crazy, everyone there made us feel calm and loved - they probably have experience w guests who are also going to the hospital. The rooms are clean, modern, and the ones facing the ocean have a breathtaking view! The breakfast is also fantastic and the staff there is also kind and patient. They offer towels for the beach and are close to La Marea and other great places to eat and drink.

We stayed at Cádiz Paseo del Mar in July 2025. The hotel is right on the beach and close to many restaurants. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, although the pillows were quite hard and the rooms a bit noisy. The staff, however, was very friendly and helpful, which made the stay much better.

During July I stayed at this hotel again, it was my eighteenth visit.||The hotel is in a good location, within easy walking distance of the centre of the city, and near bus and train stations to visit other places.||The hotel is cleaned well daily. ||There is good food and choice for breakfast and other meals.||The main feature of the hotel is the excellent service from the friendly staff. ||If all is well, I hope to visit again.

I was initially drawn to this hotel because of its great location and the appealing photos online. I have also really enjoyed Melia hotels in the past. Unfortunately, this hotel did not match the online representation or the Melia reputation. I was placed in a eastern-facing room, which was very dark. If you stay here, make sure to get a western-facing room. My first room had a strong smell of smoke and I was moved to another room, but it also had a noticeable smoke odor. The hotels only response was that it did not permit smoking. Ultimately, I decided to leave without staying the night. The hotel made no attempt to make things right, not even offering a partial refund. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel in a good location- 40 minute walk to the old town. Hotel is a bit soulless- only a breakfast restaurant available with no bar or service throughout the day. Breakfast was ok; hot selection was limited and why do some hotels insist on giving you tiny plates? |Parking might be available at the property - cost €20 per day, but you have to book in advance- we tried this but were given no guarantee or confirmation it would be available when we arrived, so we parked in the car park next door which cost €18 per day. |You can get the bus to the old town at €2 per person or just get a taxi for €6 if you don’t want to hang around waiting for up to 30 minutes. |Chiringuito on the beach opposite do a good cold beer & decent white wine at a good price. We visited the old town and loved the market and just wandering around l, stopping at all the little bars and trying lots of tapas. We’ve visited Seville and loved Cádiz more. It felt very safe and a smaller cozier city. Can’t wait to return!

Stayed 2 nights in a seaview room. Lovely room, with spectacular view. Kids bed was a fold out that was built into wall, so could be put away easy during the day. Carpark under hotel easy to access and park in - not cheap but parking in Cadiz is not easy so best just pay it. The number 7 bus stops almost at front door, and takes you into the old town/Cathedral, so no need for taxis or to drive into town. Local shops and eateries nearby. No regrets

Great location just across the road from the stunning beach. Staff are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Common areas of the hotel are well appointed, but rooms are average with bathrooms desperately in need of refurbishment. Not sure when the hotel got its four star rating, but it’s definitely inferior to the Bahia just down the road, and felt more like a three star in comparison.
