The Freshest Hotels in Florence

"When it comes to the dramatic combination of old and new, there’s no one quite like Italy’s boutique hoteliers." - Mark Fedeli

We went to a few cities in Italy and this was our favorite hotel! We traveled as a family (2 couples - my husband and I and my mom and dad) and we all agreed! The location is the absolute best. You can walk everywhere in the heart of Florence yet when you are in your room it is quiet. The rooms are great and the beds are comfy. Our favorite part was the rooftop. It has amazing 360 degree views of the city. You can go for drinks or dinner. We went almost every night for an after dinner drink. The staff was friendly and helpful - we would DEFINITELY stay here on our next trip to Florence! We can't wait to return!!

I had an amazing stay at Hotel Calimala in Florence—honestly, it exceeded all my expectations. The hotel is stunning, with a perfect mix of historic character and modern style. The room was both chic and cozy, with a rustic charm..||The location couldn’t have been better—right in the heart of the city and just a 10 min walk from Santa Maria Novella station. We were able to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go. One of the highlights was definitely the rooftop bar—we caught the sunset one evening and it was absolutely beautifullllll||What really made the stay unforgettable, though, was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and genuinely welcoming. They went out of their way to make us feel at home, always offering helpful tips and warm greetings.||I’d stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone visiting Florence!!!

Stayed here for 2 nights, highly recommended. Great central location. Friendly staff and comfortable rooms (1002 & 5002 from memory, no view but quieter). Breakfast was perfectly serviceable. Cocktails at the rooftop were unsurprisingly very expensive & not amazing, you pay for the location & ambience.

This amazing boutique hotel is nestled in a prime location in the beautiful city of Florence. My husband, our two daughters, and I had a truly memorable stay here. We booked connecting corner rooms, which were perfect for our family. The rooms were modern, immaculately clean, and warmly inviting. We especially loved being able to open the windows and enjoy the fresh Florentine air—such a simple pleasure that added so much charm.||From the concierge to the bellman, every member of the staff was genuine, kind, and incredibly helpful. Their warmth and professionalism made us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our stay.||We dined twice at Mezze, and both times were delightful—our daughters couldn’t get enough of the food. One of the highlights of our trip was dinner at the Angel rooftop restaurant. From the breathtaking views to the delicious appetizers, mains, and desserts, it was an unforgettable experience we’ll always treasure.||As with any vibrant city center, there’s a lively energy in the evenings. While my daughters, ages 10 and 12, slept peacefully, my husband and I found that using earplugs made for an even more restful night. Honestly, this is a small trade-off for staying right in the heart of Florence—where everything is just steps away.||Overall, the exceptional service, beautiful rooms, and unbeatable location made this stay truly special. We would return in a heartbeat.

The hotel is walking distance from everything we wanted to see. The room was beautiful and the beds were extremely comfortable. The shower was big and the air-conditioning worked very well. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The attention they put into detail to make sure that we were enjoying our stay leaves me extremely grateful. When I come back to Florence I will definitely be coming back to the hotel. Thank you again.

My family and I stayed at Hotel Calimala for 6 nights in late spring. Everything was impeccable, from the friendly, knowledgeable staff to the luxurious, comfortable, well-appointed rooms (wonderful rainfall shower heads) to the delicious breakfast buffet and dining options. The location is perfect, steps away from everything yet on a quiet enough street that it felt tucked away. The beautiful little lobby bar is a festive and relaxing spot for delicious cocktails, day and night. Housekeeping was excellent. The staff went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and ensure we had everything we needed during our stay, even accommodating a special early dining request before an opera (do NOT skip out on the scallops at Mezè!) The scenic rooftop bar/restaurant, Angel, was wonderful as well. If you're looking for a luxurious urban oasis in the heart of Florence, look no further!

Spent a week in this hotel and loved every second of it. The rooms are so spacious and beautifully designed, the artistic side is very present throughout the entire hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Perfectly located and the rooftop bar is a must. Breakfast was very diverse and tasty. Highly recommended.

For those of you interested in the conclusion, here it is: This is by FAR the best hotel experience I have had in all of Europe. Now, let's talk about why. (i) The hotel is immaculate; it is beautifully designed and super clean. (ii) It is centrally located; this is close to all the major attractions. (iii) But you want to know the TOP reason: the staff! The staff is amazing. The entire staff is dedicated to make you have the best time. From the discounts you get in food and drinks in this and sister hotel, to reception. From the moment you get in they are excited to have you and it shows. My man Bruno, the mixologist, is the best. Make sure to get some cocktails with him. Do not think about it, and book this. I would come back to Florence just for stay here again.
