The hotel was a great choice overall. The location is excellent, right in the center of Florence and close to everything, yet quiet and easy to reach. The staff were very kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout the stay. The room was calm, the bed comfortable, and we slept really well every night. A comfortable and pleasant stay in a perfect location. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed one night at the hotel and had a lovely experience. The location is absolutely excellent, right in the heart of Florence, which makes it ideal for discovering the city. The hotel is composed of 2 buildings, we stayed in the second one, where the breakfast is served on the rooftop, which was a real highlight. The room is beautifully decorated in contemporary style, very comfortable. The digital tablet available in the room providing the hotel information and useful details was a very nice and modern touch. A special mention goes to the gentleman who welcomed us upon arrival on Dec 16. Unfortunately we do not remember his name, but he was excellent - he accompanied us to the room with our luggage, presented the room with great clarity, and was attentive, professional and pleasant. His service truly stood out. The only small downside we noticed was a rather strong sewer smell in the corridors of this building.

Amazing hotel! We were here on our honeymoon and the service was phenomenal. Our room got upgraded when we checked in (maybe they saw that we were on our honeymoon because we bought the package that included wine & chocolates?) so we got a larger room. I didn't realize the hotel was two buildings. We were in the West building. Our room had 2 bottles of wine, a big bouquet of flowers, and a box of chocolates. It was all soooo good. Even housekeeping would come by and give us little chocolate gifts! We also bought the breakfast during our stay (in the east building), and it's very worth it for anyone who's used to eating. Traditional Italian breakfast of a pastry & a coffee is not something we could get used to, since we're from the US. It was the best hotel breakfast spread the both of us have experienced. Eggs, bacon, and pancakes were classics for us. The mini pastries were always so tasty and never dry. Me personally, I loooved the croissant sandwiches. I can't eat pork, but there were turkey and pastrami options for me too. There's a really cool tablet they put in the room to get hotel info. The TV had Chromecast which was GREAT when we got tired at the end of the night. The hotel location is pretty central to everywhere we wanted to go which is why I booked this place. Pitti Palace, the Duomo, Medici Chapel, Santa Croce, etc. were all a short walk away. Hotel bar in the West building was top tier. The bartenders were so attentive and very skilled. Every cocktail was so smooth and delicious. The only down side is that there is a lot of sound that comes in through the windows, even late at night. It was pretty active until 2am most days. I would wake up to people screaming and cheering, but it was easy for me to go back to sleep after long, exhausting days of exploring. That said, we would still recommend this place to everyone we know. My husband is already saying we need to come back and explore Florence again just so he can stay at this hotel!

I. Hose this hotel based on other TripAdvisor reviews and was definitely not disappointed. The reviews are spot on. The hotel is located in a great part of town. The service is great and the spacious room was immaculate. The wait staff are great and the house keeping is meticulous. I highly recommend and will stay again

We received a complimentary room upgrade, with the balcony I had originally wished for (even though it wasn’t available on Booking) — a thoughtful gesture that speaks volumes about the team’s attention to detail and genuine care for their guests. The design beautifully blends modern style with Italian elegance, and the attention to detail is remarkable: the slippers in both cream and black tones, the soft ambient lighting, and the refined finishes create an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and personal. The bed was extremely comfortable, but what truly stood out were the pillows — soft yet supportive, clearly of premium quality. For me, good pillows are essential for a proper night’s rest, and Hotel Calimala exceeded all expectations. The staff was kind, discreet, and attentive — always present without being intrusive. It’s the kind of place where you feel that everything has been thoughtfully arranged for your comfort, transforming a simple stay into a memorable experience. Booked the balcony room for our one year anniversary and we absolutely loved it! Hotel Calimala was so accommodating and we even had drinks at the rooftop bar! Loved the location of this hotel and the design of the hotel rooms. It looked just like the website and reviews and we had more than enough room for our things! We will be back one day!

This hotel is very average. The lobby is small, as is the bar.|The breakfast was nothing special.|I ordered room service one night, never received.|The rooms are spacious however very noisy. I had an interior room but could hear everything in the hallway as if my door was wide open. |When I was checking out, I was asked about my experience. I commented about the noise. One of the staff challenged my ability to understand noise. He said it must have been rude guests. No, it is a room that has no soundproofing. I know the difference.|The location is great, but that's about it. Will not stay again.

Absolutely wonderful hotel! We arranged transportation through the hotel which made our trip from the airport super easy. From check in to check out, the staff was incredible. The bar and bartenders were amazing and personable! Breakfast was great. Overall amazing service. We felt so special and taken care of. Highly recommend!
