Hotel Can Cera (Mallorca, Balearic Islands) 3 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Strip away the contemporary art and the Egyptian cotton linens, the screens on the walls and the terrycloth robes in the big modern bathrooms, and it’s easy to imagine the original, regal appeal of this traditional Mallorcan mansion. Arriving at Can Cera, passing under its old stone archway and into its leafy central courtyard, you enter a particularly inviting oasis within the already elegant Mediterranean enclave of Palma de Mallorca’s old walled city. A little farther on, up a marble stairway, waits a series of comfy salons, all full of cushiony nooks that invite a respite before continuing to one of the twelve guest rooms. The effect, as you travel from the street to the courtyard to the public spaces to the bedroom, is one of sliding into ever-deeper states of leisure — or, to put it another way, of living like an old-fashioned aristocrat." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel is clean, tidy, and beautifully designed, with a very elegant atmosphere. The rooms are uniquely styled, and each one has its own distinctive charm. The fragrance throughout the hotel is amazing and adds to the overall experience. A special thanks to the lady at the reception (I forgot her name) – she was incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive. Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. Truly a fantastic stay!

We spent four nights in Can Cera and are very happy to have chosen this hotel. As soon as you cross over the threshold of the wooden entrance door, you step into another time. The interior is architecturally stunning, decorated in modern Moorish motif. Our suite was luxurious and clean. A complimentary bottle of red wine and plenty of bottles of water were much appreciated. We enjoyed having breakfast every morning, with a wide selection of hot and cold options. The automatic espresso machine in the lobby was a bonus for those who enjoy coffee. Most importantly, the staff were attentive, helpful, and friendly. The hotel is situated on a quiet, pretty street, close to restaurants and the main sights in the center. We would definitely recommend for anyone who wishes to have a unique experience in Palma de Mallorca to stay at Can Cera. We would love to stay again in a future visit to the island.

We have recently had the chance to stay in this mesmerizing renovated old mansion, let me say it was pleasantly amazing. The staff the room the lobby was an amazing treat. The only thing you have to consider is the parking as it is a 10 min walking distance and it was a bit expensive. Other than that i would say it was perfect with a great location within the heart of Palma city.

I was recently privileged enough to be able to spend some time at Hotel Can Cera. For starters let me say that this doesn’t feel like a hotel. With only 14 rooms in total it feels like you are staying with family members. It is more like a sanctuary. With its subdued entrance you could walk right past it and not even know it. We did several times. Once you enter through the large wooden door you are welcomed with an amazing blend of natural elements and tranquil, moody elegance. The Hotel Can Cera envelopes you in a peace that just allows you to be present and enjoy the company of who you are with. The hotel itself just oozes luxury but not in an “in your face” type of way.||||There are only 14 rooms so the Can Cera team (Benjamin, Jose, Noemi, Marta, and Camilla) do an amazing job of meeting your every need. In some hotels you can feel like it is the staff’s job to see to your needs. This is not the case at the Can Cera. The Can Cera team feels warm and familiar like family. They feel authentic and are always quick with a very warm good morning/good night, suggestions of restaurants, or things to do. It was wonderful to be so graciously received every day. ||||The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. They almost make it difficult to peel yourself out of bed to enjoy your holiday. As an American who travels through the EU, I can always appreciate a dark, cool room. The breakfast is also not to be missed. Make sure that you include it in your booking. Many places in Spain do not open early so it was nice to know that we had a delicious meal downstairs and it quickly became one of the highlights of our day. ||||Even though you can rent a car at the airport, I would suggest you renting one directly from the hotel. As I stated, the hotel’s entrance is difficult to spot by vehicle and the staff will tell you that some of the streets near them are small and not open to traffic. Listen to them. Google maps will not take you there successfully. It will get you to the plaza if you are lucky. ||||I can not recommend the Hotel Can Cera and its staff highly enough!

This charming hotel is inside an old palace and has recently been redecorated in a modern style that blends well with the old. Our guest room was spacious and the bed comfortable. There are living areas if more space needed. The manager Noemi was very helpful and the location for walking old town was great. The only negative is that the uber driver and others don’t seem to be able to figure out how to pull up in front of the hotel even though it is possible. Wonderful stay!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to others visiting Palma. We booked it for the fantastic location, beautiful property, and generously spacious rooms—and it truly lived up to our expectations. The staff made our experience even more memorable. Everyone was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They also gave us great local recommendations for dining and things to do. A special thank you to Giulia, who was especially kind and helpful during our departure—she even helped us book a taxi, which we really appreciated. One helpful note for future guests: if you're arriving by car or renting a car, be aware that parking is not directly onsite (which is common in central Palma). The closest parking lot is about a 10-minute walk away. We were able to drop off our luggage first and the staff kindly assisted with directions and bags, but understanding this in advance would have helped us plan better. Overall, it was a lovely stay in a charming city, and we’d happily return!

We spent two nights and enjoyed great breakfasts and an excellent atmosphere straight out of Architectural Digest magazine. Very friendly staff helped us maximize our brief stay in Palma. The only trouble was getting there as Uber drivers had hard time navigating the old town narrow roads.

Our recent stay at Can Cera was truly memorable, the stunning building so beautifully furnished, the comfortable rooms, the really wonderful breakfast providing everything you could possibly want to start the day in a calm and friendly environment. But the highlight was the attention to detail by all the lovely staff to make our holiday something really special including excellent recommendations for restaurants, introducing us to a truly interesting and knowledgeable guide for a half day of fascinating history of Palma (and Spain) and quietly making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed on all occasions, It was wonderful and we are so grateful to all the friendly and helpful staff but specially to Giulia, Carmilla and Jose who made our stay there just perfect. We miss you all , thank you so very much.

Yelp
This place is gorgeous, the common areas are grand and the rooms are beautiful. Very small hotel so make sure you book in advance. They have parking on site but the streets are small, so if you are renting a car get the smallest one available...

Yelp
We had a very nice dinner with great service at Hotel Can Cera. For once in Palma service was good and for the first time we tipped accordingly. We started out with a couple of shared plates of Pan Cristal, Patatas Bravas, Burrata and the salty crackers with sardines. The Pan in particular was very tasty, both light and crisp - something that's proven hard to find here in Palma. We then had the Gazpacho soup with tomato icecream. A bit sweet but very flavourful (quite strong notes of herbs like basil and sage), the icecream was possibly a sorbet. Tasty tasty if you're ok with sweetness in your food. For mains we had the black paella (crunchy and well balanced), the grilled seabass with potatoes (a large portion size), the salmon rolls with lentils (more of a starter in size) and the Gallician squid with creamed potatoes (to uniform in texture to work well as a dish). We could taste the chefs ambition to create both authentic and innovative dishes. Most of it worked, some details were less succesful (even though the squid was tender) but overall a meal where we enjoyed each dished. The desserts were the only let down. The mandarin sorbet was to artificial in flavour, the lemon cake with lemon sorbet too tart (never thought I would say a lemon cake was too tart). The souffle with caramelized almonds was great - but in truth it was an ice cream on a cookie. The kitchen by mistake sent out paellas with seafood instead of our black paellas. Having this corrected was no problem and we were treated to an extra bottle of cava for the mishap. We were very happy with the food, the local and the service at this restaurant. Recommend!
