Hotel Le Canberra, Cannes, Cote d'Azur, France - Explore & Book

"The mere mention of Cannes is enough to conjure up images of Hollywood stars and the glitz and glamour of its annual film festival. Thankfully, though, there’s far more to it than that: the atmospheric narrow streets of the Old Town that wind up to the castle museum, the million-dollar boats jostling for space in the marina, and the famous seafront boulevard of La Croisette, where streams of beautiful people stroll in the sun. Hotel Le Canberra feels like it belongs in Cannes. The entrance, on the main shopping street of rue d’Antibes, is an inconspicuous blink-and-you’ll-miss-it door, but as soon as we stepped inside we entered a world of black and white fashion photography, hot-pink furniture and flamboyant 1950s design. It’s a slick yet laid-back all-rounder, with 35 stylishly kitsch rooms and suites that are equally suited to families, friends and couples. Shopaholics and those who want to see and be seen will appreciate its proximity to designer boutiques, beach clubs and celebrity hangouts, but if it’s seclusion you’re seeking, you can retreat to the small pool and linger on a lounger with a book. Highs You can’t beat the hotel’s central position, just a couple of minutes’ walk from La Croisette and the beachChic rooms with sleek bathrooms; book a poolside room with a terrace and you’ll get a private sunspot, too Fantastic vintage touches, including curved chairs from French designer Pierre Paulin Plenty to do in and around Cannes - markets, beaches, shopping and great restaurants, plus trips to Monaco, Nice and nearby islands Lows Rates don’t include breakfast (a pricey but tasty buffet), and there's no lunch or dinner serviceThere are only 3 parking spaces (charged for) and you can’t reserve them in advance, though you don't really need a car hereThe pool is small with a limited number of loungers; sun-bathing space is snapped up fast in busy periods Some feedback suggests the sound-proofing could be better, but we had no problems during our stay" - Emma Love

Hotel Le Canberra | Best places to stay in Cannes

"Conveniently located in the buzzing heart of Cannes, close to sights, shops and the beach, this four-star boutique hotel has a lush Mediterranean garden with a heated pool – at prices that won’t break the bank. Yet there’s a sense of deco-chic thanks to design touches (mirrored headboards, velvet accent chairs) and the retro-feel lounge bar. The sea and most of the city sights are within walking distance, so it’s a good bet for first-time visitors, couples or families – and the garden and pool are a peaceful oasis to retreat to afterwards. Spent one night in junior suite with husband and two 17-19-year old kids. A small hotel on Rue d’Antibes. Perfect location, in the centre but still calm. Even though the suite had just one room it felt comfortable and airy with a doublebed and one bedsofa. A bit austere with the furnishing and grey carpet, more like a business-hotel. But the bathroom was amazing, large with a bathtub and shower. And a pretty large balcony overlooking the pool-area. Supernice! Nice lounge area in the hotel and also a small pool-area. Cosy. The breakfast was fine and had everything you needed including small pancakes, small croissants, fresh juice, youghurt and coffee of choice. Never used the gym but it looked pretty good. I would without hesitation choose this hotel again!||Now to some of the things that they could work on. |The check-in procedure was very strange, confused and over-bureaucratic. I think that they really wanted everything to be fuss-free but instead made it the opposite. I counted having 6 e-mails from the hotel before going there. There was a confirmation, then 3 e-mails about paying (which I thought I did the first time but ended up having to do it all-over), 2 about early check-in (did that too) and lastly some kind of we-would-like-to-get-to-know-you mail. A bit much for a hotel-stay and certainly for one night. Upon arrival I obviously thought everything was settled but no, I had to fill out a form again!! In one of all the e-mails that I filled out before arriving I only had one wish; to be able to check in before 15. This was not met. All in all it felt like no one bothered reading all the information given before our arrival even though we got all these mails from the hotel. Either choose not to send them or send them and make the check-in fuss-free. Also when we left I had the feeling the personnel at the reception and the bar, although very friendly, are somewhat inexperienced. Just a feeling.||But this was just a minor thing, I gladly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cannes.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Le Canberra! The location is perfect, right on the main street, making it easy to explore Cannes on foot. The service was exceptional every staff member we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Cannes!

Really lovely hotel. We had a superior room, which was spacious and really clean. The breakfast was wonderful, with lots of options and you could order coffee, hot chocolate or tea from the waiters. Everyone, including the receptionists, the cleaning staff and the waiters were so nice and gave such good service -- we especially appreciated Anna, who helped us with a lot, including finding the right bus for a daytrip to Antibes, and Tom and Evan who served us breakfast everyday.|The location was perfect, and the patio and pool was such a nice view every morning. Everything from check in to check out went smoothly. |Our nr. 1 choice for our next stay in Cannes☺️ Best regards from Cathrine and Ingerid Sandberg.

Firstly the staff, ALL the members of staff were so friendly and helpful and were extremely happy to help with local information etc. Nothing was too much bother. They stored our luggage both on arrival day until check in, and after check out (even mentioned that we could use all facilities until the end of the day that were downstairs, eg, shower etc). The room was spotlessly clean and stylish and overlooked the very well kept pool area. Nice addition of a capsule coffee machine, robes, and slippers also. Location was excellent, right on the main shopping street and just a few minutes walk to the sea front. So the question of course ... would we stay here again ? Absolutely, this hotel is a little gem in Cannes !

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. The location is AMAZING. We were right next to the beach (5 minute walk) and the main shopping street. Truly an incredible experience. The service was great and breakfast was included.

A great little hotel in a great location. Room and facilities superb. Parking could be an issue as only a few spaces. If you want a comfortable hotel with easy reach to all that Cannes has to offer this is excellent. Would we return? Absolutely

Me and my wife had a fantastic stay for three nights last week. The hotel is clean and the pool area is very nice. Stayed in a junior suite and the room was nice and spacious. Very close to the beach and shopping/night life. I give them my best recommendations, and an extra shout out to Stephanie for her excellent service.

Yelp
Very mod-chic property. It is also located in a good middle-ground between Le Croisette shopping, dining areas, and the SNCF station. We really liked the hot pink highlights in the WC as well as the floor-to-ceiling windows that encircled our room. However, the standard rooms are incredibly small - try to ask/pay for an upgrade. Plus, our entertainment table was also slightly crooked down the middle. Little details like that may be okay if you were a studio-for-rent, not okay for a hotel room. Please spare the $200 and get yourself a new table.

Yelp
As Cannes is generally overpriced, so is this hotel, but not overly so. Offered a large room, spacious comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. And on rue antibe, close to everything. The place had a clean light feel and was quite silent considering the buzz outside. Offered a nice terrace and a patch of green difficult to find in the centre of Cannes.

Yelp
Almost perfect. Comfortable beds, great pool and good location. Price is right too! Away from the crowds but close enough to everything.
