"Here in Porto Vecchio, everything revolves around the sea. The ancient Genoese city resisted every barbarian invasion and is a symbol of pride for Corsicans. Another source of pride is the Casadelmar restaurant: a mecca for lovers of seafood. Don't be distracted by the enchanting view of the bay, nor by the location of this superb hotel – it is on the plate that the most amazing things happen! Chef Fabio Bragagnolo is inspired by both Corsica and Italy, a case in point being the starter simply entitled "fish, crustaceans and caviar", which is breathtaking in its presentation in the form of a chequerboard of slices of raw fish on a bed of cauliflower and broad beans, bound with Cremona mustard and topped with a small scoop of beluga caviar: a mouthful of incredible freshness. Meticulous work from start to finish, culminating in delicate desserts that are low in sugar." - Michelin Inspector

"Casadelmar breathed new life into the "boutique" hotel idiom with a modern wood-paneled exterior and an array of original and amusing details. All 34 rooms and suites have drop-dead views over Corsica’s Bay of Porto Vecchio and are done in an appealing Japanese-Scandinavian style of raw-oak furniture, beige upholstery, Frette linens, and sisal-edged rugs made from thin strips of wood on mushroom-colored tile floors. The infinity pool has the same stunning bay views, and there’s a dock for anyone who wants to take a dip in the Med. The exceptionally intelligent and friendly staff and spectacular setting more than make up for the lack of a proper beach, and besides, the gorgeous white sands of Plage Santa Giulia are less than five minutes away."

5 star setting. 1 star delivery. This hotel charges outrageous prices for what it delivers. Then charges extra for water in the room €11, a cooked egg at breakfast €15, a towel for the beach €7. The tiny mini bar is €10 for water. The staff are embarrassed and apologetic but the management continue to try and fleece their customers at every possible turn despite charging £1300 for a very basic, small room per night. Absolutely do not recommend. The setting is beautiful but the hotel is very poor.

From the moment you walk in the door this place exudes luxury. Everything is wonderful. The views were outstanding. The pool was amazing. I wish I could have stayed longer. I would not hesitate to book again and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Breakfast was very good and dinner was too.

This resort is what dreams are made of. What a special place!. Beautiful property, exquisite pool, fabulous food (the dinner was delicious and the breakfast was a top five in my life) and the staff was helpful, friendly and of course all fabulous looking. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Food is avarge here. Stuff on the reception is very nice. What’s horrible is the pool stuff. They are not coming at all. Was sitting at the pool yesterday all day and they came twice. Not even ask if you need anything but just walked around.

Unfriendly and "harsh": no welcome, but: you must leave your dog in the car (28 degrees). Super snobism.

Some background: while I love a luxurious accommodation, I typically don’t drive while on vacation. However, everyone recommended that we rent a car in Corsica, and so we did, but we didn’t much care about what kind of car we got. We ended up with a small Toyota SUV, which was fine for our purposes. However, when we pulled up to Casadelmar in it, we were repeatedly asked whether we were at the right hotel, whether we in fact had a reservation at Casadelmar, and whether perhaps we had confused our hotel for Casadelmar (we hadn’t).||After that slight hiccup, we were shown to our beautiful room. It had a small w/c right next to the front door, but the separate shower, tub, and sinks were great (even if the bathrobes were scratchy). Our room had a spectacular view and was incredibly private. But the walk to it was through a carpeted hallway that was extremely humid even in mid-Sept.||The biggest downside was the unfriendly, unhelpful, and pretentious staff. When we checked in, they mentioned a ferry to their sister property, La Plage Casadelmar. We decided to eat at the restaurant our last night and hoped to take the ferry as we had been getting a bottle or two of wine at dinner. When we inquired, they directed us to contact the restaurant ourselves for a reservation. When we did, we discovered that the first seating was 8pm (20:00), which was reasonable, but when we asked about the ferry times, they said we could take it. Upon further inquiry, but only when asked, they said it stopped at 7:30pm (19:30) and suggested we just try and get a taxi. We ended up eating at Terramea, which was a less than 5 min. drive, and absolutely amazing.||The biggest disappointment was the 2** Michelin restaurant. We were seated at a table crawling with bugs. When we inquired about new utensils given the bugs, we were very reluctantly provided some but with huffing and eyerolls—terribly surprising for the caliber of the restaurant. The initial small bites to whet the appetite were terrible—one was almost inedible (one was a hard, stale beignet; “beignet” was their description). The rest of the tasting menu was fine but uninspired—with the exception of a gift from the chef of veal ravioli in veal jus with truffles and the desserts. Everything else was fine but not at the level of a 2** Michelin meal.||Everything at the hotel was overpriced, but the rooms were luxurious and comfortable—and the location was great for us as we explored natural waterfalls and pools about an hour north, Bonifacio about 40 minutes south, and three beaches all between 15-30 minutes away.||A highlight of the hotel was the infinity pool that was nearly perfect—it included a very attentive staff member who quickly replaced towels after anyone left.||We were by far the youngest guests that we saw, but the hotel provided a great base for those wanting more luxury in their accommodations.

This hotel is very luxurious but purposely modern and somewhat spartan and uncluttered by design. The views from our balcony were outstanding. The hotel restaurant was spectacular. Our sommelier was charming and creative in his recommendations. We finished our meal with an aged grappe, the presentation of which none of us will soon forget.

Beautifully serene hotel with excellent views and service. The restaurant also had fantastic service with delicious food, complimented with an extensive wine list not to be missed. I could have stayed longer!

Yelp
Great restaurant. Ideally located right on a beautiful beach. Very professional staff (way above average local practice). Food is great - simpler than the "gastronomique" restaurant if the main Casadelmar location on the other side of the Porto-Vecchio bay. Great place for a romantic dinner.

Yelp
Situated right at the beach, completely renovated luxury and favorable hotel. There are few villas and just 15 suits, so it's not crowded and very private. Each room has a cozy terrace. Suits are very spacious and beautifully decorated. Comfortable large bed, big bathroom. Few steps to the beach, where you can swim or just enjoy the view, sun and the sea breeze. They have swimming pool too, but who wants a swimming pool if there is such a marvelous sea. Kids? Breakfast was included. Buffet with fruits, pastries, etc. Like a continental selection, with no smoked salmon, nor omelets or Champaign. But all they offered was delicious. For dinner we ordered room service from their restaurant and enjoyed it at our terrace - in a company with stray cats who wanted to have a bite too, how lovely! No gym, but they suggest you to use their gym and SPA at their main hotel in the city where you can drive, it's not a walking distance. Or they have a charter boat cruising over there. We didn't go there and had a beautiful jog around the neighborhood. Hotel is open for the summer season only. Very peaceful, quiet and romantic place to stay.
