Tokyo's 6 Decadent Desserts As Seen In Kantaro: The Sweet Tooth Salaryman

"Shinjuku is one of the unmissable areas for travellers visiting Tokyo. Here, there is a sweet creation that lures Kantaro to take time off from work to sample it — the fruit parfait." - Michelin Guide Digital-Singapore

Where to Stay in Tokyo When You Visit in 2025

"I recommend requesting as high a room as possible at this hotel near Shinjuku Station — I was rewarded with a fantastic view of the Shinjuku skyline; the guest rooms are spacious with a desk and couch, and the hearty breakfast buffet is included." - Matthew Kepnes

The 6 Best Hotels in Tokyo (Updated 2025)

"Located just a few minutes’ walk from Shinjuku Station, this four-star hotel offers fantastic views of the Shinjuku skyline (tip: request as high a room as possible). The hearty breakfast buffet has lots of Western and Japanese options, though there’s a 7/11 at the base of the building and plenty of other eateries just steps away. It’s a massive hotel (over 300 rooms), so it doesn’t feel very personal, but the excellent location makes up for that. The guest rooms are spacious by Tokyo standards with a contemporary—but a bit too beige—design; all rooms have a desk, electric kettle, safe, TV, minifridge, and even a small couch. The bathrooms are a decent size with a bathtub/shower combo and good water pressure, and the toilets have bidets. I also appreciate that instead of plastic water bottles the hotel provides purified water dispensers on each floor with a small stainless-steel carafe you can take back to your room. Overall, a great choice for travelers who want a central, more upscale stay." - Matthew Kepnes

Honestly if you want to be in the middle of Japan and don't like walking I recommend staying here. I loved the location of this hotel because its next to a mall with a thousand shops inside and a lot of delicious restaurants you can choose upstairs on the 12th floor. I also recommend you choosing the breakfast package because if you don't it does add up everyday. The breakfast buffet was so good. There was a lot of good food you can choose from, and there's a really delicious drink called banana juice which I heard is good for you. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, and if you bought a tone of stuff that you cannot fit in your suitcase they do have boxes you can purchase at the front desk. Had to buy 2 boxes because we bought too much. My mom liked how they have smoking accessible rooms upstairs on the lobby so if you're a smoker definitely choose this hotel.

We stayed in a King bed room for 4 nights which was clean, comfortable and spacious enough for our luggage. We were on floor 34 and elevators fast, we had a great view and could see Mt Fuji on our last morning. Check in was quick, some front desk employees had some difficulty with English but still generally able to help. Check in and out was smooth and quick. Breakfast was very good and happy we chose the option. While there are places to eat everywhere, we found those nearer the hotel less suited to our preferences and more pricey. Perhaps we should have enquired more from front desk but didn’t. Location though as a base cannot be beaten especially as first time visitors cannot be beaten. Everything was convenient including getting the airport limousine bus from Narita which stops directly at the hotel. Would recommend.

Checked in on 01Dec25 with my wife and this is the first time we stay with this hotel. Other than the convenience of airport limousine stopping at its doorstep, the location is also right in the heart of Shinjuku where you can get everything only steps away. |The interior of the hotel is modernly decorated and giving you a comfortable but not cautious feeling. The check-in lobby is located in the 20th floor of the building where it is spacious and with plenty of privacy as only hotel guests are there to rest before or after checking in.||The South Court lounge at the lobby overlooking the night view of Shinjuku through the large glass window, a nice place for a drink and chatting. The lady who checked us in was so helpful and every question we asked were answered with alternatives.||The twin room we have, 2375, is in reasonable size, clean and tidy. However, USB plugs for charging is not available inside the room. Not many choices for TV channels. No HBO or other movie channels, no sports channels. For foreigners you might have to repeatedly watching news the whole night. The bathtub is a bit slippery for taking shower as the slip-resistant on the surface of the bathtub is not strong enough to hold when you move around with shower gel on your body. The position of the metal handle on the wall is too low to catch when you slipped, especially for elderly people. Noises from upper floor were heard from time to time especially in the evening. It sounds very much like flushing toilet.||The restaurant at the lobby provides quite a tasty breakfast buffet but the variety of foods are quite limited. Charging JPY3800 per person is a bit too expensive. Throughout our stay, the housekeeping has been doing a good job to keep the room clean and tidy. Change of towels and slippers were carried out properly every day.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Century Southern Tower with another couple for a two night post-cruise stay in September 2025.|We found the hotel to be in an ideal location for sightseeing around Tokyo. The metro is walkable within minutes from the hotel and for more local journey’s we used the local taxi’s which were frequent and relatively cost effective. |We arrived early morning, having exited the cruise ship first thing. Despite a polite request we were not able to check in to our rooms until the stated 3pm, which we understand but was a little disappointing. |With the hotel being situated in a high tower all the rooms have a great view of Tokyo. The rooms were functional clean and tidy and a reasonable size for a city hotel. |Breakfast was good quality and plentiful and all staff were polite and helpful. |All in all we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is in a great location and is good quality, clean and the staff efficient.

We stayed here in a King-sized room for a week while vacationing in Tokyo. If you're interested in staying the Shinjuku neighborhood, this is a great location only steps from the Shinjuku Station (which is a hub for getting around the city) and short walk from the main shopping/nightlife areas, including Golden Gai. The hotel staff were friendly. The room was clean and I'd say mid-sized - not huge but roomy enough for two people to be comfortable for a week. We skipped the breakfast add on, but there's a ton of options on the nearby promenade and train station. There's a 7-11 and Shake Shake in the building, and a Starbucks close by. All around had a great stay here and would recommend for first-time or returning travelers to Tokyo.

Google
On the quiet side of Shinjuku Station. Easy to find once you're oriented to the area. Very convenient. Has airport Limo bus pick-up on location (ground floor). The standard king room was a good size, large enough to spread out two people's luggage plus a king bed, though the bed wasn't very comfortable. Room amenities were pretty basic. No minibar, but there is a small mini-fridge. We would definitely consider staying here again if in Shinjuku, but would also consider other options due to the uncomfortable bed.

There are two things that really stand out about this hotel: the location, and the views.||Access to trains and buses at this hotel is excellent as it is attached to an elevated promenade, meaning you have an easy walk to Shinjuku Station, or Yoyogi Station. There are also lots of stores and restaurants in the area, which was nice as we could wind down our days with some shopping and dining near the hotel.
The hotel itself seems more business focused. It's not the kind of hotel where you'll spend the evening in the lobby, and there isn't a pool or spa. We liked that as it meant our evenings were nice and quiet, even being right by the train station and Shinjuku. ||The panoramic rooms are huge with amazing views of the city. On one of our more restful days, we spent a big portion of our evening watching the nighttime city views. It’s stunning. One downside with the panoramic views - it can get very warm and sunny during the day with the blinds open, so you may end up closing the blinds and then you don’t get the great view. It wasn’t a huge problem as we were there when the days were shorter, and often out of the hotel during the day. ||Everything else about the room was fine. It seems like it hasn’t been updated in a while, but it was clean and comfortable. The mattress was on the firmer side and comfortable. The bathroom and closet, however, were both quite small, which was surprising when the rest of the room had so much space. The toilet and shower are both in the same room, which isn’t a dealbreaker but stood out compared to other hotels we stayed at during our trip. Tall folks might have a bit of trouble in these showers too. ||Hotel staff were friendly, but we only interacted at check-in and checkout, and at the restaurant. Everyone we spoke to seemed to be proficient in English, which was helpful. Breakfast was also good, though a bit expensive. I did appreciate the various vegan and vegetarian options, and clear labeling on foods.||If you want a practical hotel with incredible views, a great location, and very large rooms (if you book a panoramic view room) it’s a solid spot.

Google
Conveniently located above Shinjuku station. Lobby is on the 20th floor. I had a king room on the 33rd floor overlooking the Tokyo metro building. Decent room. Plenty of space. The bed wasn't very comfortable however. The automatic shades were nice. The breakfast was great priced around 3800 yen. Overall a good value hotel.

Yelp
I spent a year organizing a family trip to Japan for 35 people (including seniors and small children) and a lot of time selecting hotels for each destination. I've been to Japan 10 times over many years and with each trip, the hotel choice has changed. This trip, because over half were coming to Japan for the first time, I was looking for LOCATION, NICER HOTELS, but also PRICE. Tokyo was our first stop and was extremely happy with the Hotel Century Southern Tower. EASY ACCESS FROM NARITA AIRPORT. Family members were flying in from Canada, Honolulu, the Midwest, Chicago, New York, and Seattle, at various times and flights. I recommended that they take the Airport Limousine Bus since the bus stops directly at the hotel. Its an easy stressless way to get from Narita with your huge suitcases, you relax for 2 hours and are dropped off right at the hotel. There are ticket counters at Narita to book your bus trip once you arrive. LOCATION. The hotel is located very close to Shinjuku station which made it easy to catch the Shinkansen, trains, and subway. The hotel is in a clean, upscale area so you feel safe walking at all times of the day. At the station there are lots of places to eat and shop, there is a nice department store directly across from the hotel, and a trendy Starbucks on the way to the station. The hotel is on top of a building so once you arrive you take an elevator up to the lobby. There is a handy little convenience store at the bottom floor to buy snacks and cold drinks. STAFF and SERVICES. The staff all speak English and the hotel has lots of foreign guests which they handle capably. They offer LUGGAGE FORWARDING which I highly recommend, sending your huge suitcases ahead to your destination. Sometimes the service takes two days but just pack a small carry on to tide you over and then you don't have to lug that huge suitcase everywhere. Since we bookended our 2 week trip to Japan with a stay in Tokyo before we left, we stored a couple suitcases at the hotel full of all the things we bought the first several days before we left on the Shinkansen. HOTEL BUFFET. When you book your hotel (I used Agoda) you can opt to include the hotel buffet. Compared to other hotel buffets, it is not extensive, but an easy way to start your day. HOTEL ROOMS. Be aware of the different sizes of rooms. The smallest room is inexpensive, but the room is very small. I noted down room sizes when comparing hotels as that gives you a good idea of just how small the room might be (for those who are going to Japan for the first time, hotel rooms can be very small compared to American hotels.) SERVICE ABOVE AND BEYOND. While staying at the hotel, late at night (actually early in the morning) one of my contact lenses got stuck or got lost in bathroom. I was so tired I was not sure which, but my eye was really sore so I called the front desk at 3 am and the clerk on duty, spoke very good English and told me to come down to discuss options. He spent over an hour, looking at emergency clinics to go to, called a few (they would charge me $1000 up front) and then found an eye clinic that has English speaking staff and made an appointment for me the following day and booked me a taxi to go to the clinic. I'll post his photo and later check my notes for his name. He was a lifesaver for me as there was no way I could have dealt with this situation. It will be my hotel of choice when I go back to Tokyo again.

Yelp
Conveniently located next to Shinjuku station. Highly recommend the melon themed afternoon tea.

Yelp
I had to book last minute for an unexpected trip and I did little research. The hotel was VERY conveniently located near tons of walkable entertainment, food, a giant mall and Shinjuku streets. Staff was very friendly and welcoming and the room was an excellent size for the price. I stayed at another hotel later due to in-availability for me to extend my stay and I missed this hotels location very much after arriving at the new one. Also great views of the city

Yelp
We stayed here for 10 days and loved our time here. The room was nice and clean. The front desk staff was nice. The views were amazing! We were up in the mid 20's floor and had a nice view of the northside including Shinjuku station, and Neoman and Hands. We did not eat at the restaurants as they seemed a little too adult for us but did use the complimentary water kettle for some instant ramen from the 7/11 on the first floor (which is in fact not opened 7-11!). The location of this hotel was perfect for both going to the train station and going around Shinjuku. They do want to come in everyday to clean which we were not used to staying in places in the US and Europe. We had a do not disturb sign up the whole time and they called us a couple of times making sure we were ok, since they are used to coming in everyday to clean, which we thought was nice. Aside from the 7/11 (which is slightly more expensive than other kobini's down the street) there were a few other restaurants in the building like Shake Shack, though surprisingly nothing else Japanese. It is so close to the shopping areas in the station, Lumine, and Omoide Yakocho there's plenty of other food options. When we go back this year we will seriously consider staying here again.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the amenities of this hotel. The bathroom supplies, included tooth brush and tooth paste, razor and shaving cream, various types of moisturizers and cleansers and high quality shampoo, face soap, conditioner and body wash. The hotel provides a mobile device that helps navigate the city and the hotel services. The hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes from the Shinjuku Train Station.

Yelp
This is the place to be if you want some of this. You could go some place else, but this is right there. I found myself in need of some quantity of this and as I was passing by I saw this place. The material is usable, prices are standard and you end up feeling like you got something done. If I ever am in need of this item I will definitely come to this place. Make sure to get some for you and your loved ones. Good gift for anyone.

Yelp
Great hotel, great views, great service, great gift shop. We got a room on the 33 floor with no smoking, east view and it was stunning. Could see skytree, tokyo tower, tokyo dome, and the olympic tower. The room has alot of space and had nice freebies like shower cap, robes, slippers, body scrubber pads, toothpaste, razers, etc. The gift shop is very resonably priced unlike gift shops in North America. The location is perfect. Very close to shinjuku station for the JR and subway. Also close to Yoyogi station and the JR and subway there. There's a Shake Shack at the 2nd floor with patio seating. Starbucks if you exit 2nd floor. Tons of restaurants within walking distance. Rooms cleaned everyday. Hotel reception was great, they do keep your bags for you if you check out and still have a few hours to roam around. No room service though but you can get snacks at the gift shop. Overall I do recommend staying here and would come back.

Yelp
Very good location in Tokyo. Room service is very reliable and they give lots of complimentary toiletries so, in case you're too lazy unpack and bring out your tooth brush, have no fear as they provide that along with a razor and shaving cream. To get here from the Shinjuku JR/Subway, find the New South Exit and head to the Southern Terrace on the 2nd floor. You're getting warm if you see a Starbucks and you're getting hot if pass a Krispy Kreme Donut shop where you turn right to enter the Southern Tower. From there take the elevator to the 20th Floor Lobby and be prepared for a pleasant posh bar with a gorgeous city view of Tokyo. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The rooms are very big and if you're too lazy to eat outside, they provide a bar and restaurant with options at a reasonable price. A couple of beers for example won't cost more than $12. Outside, there are plenty of places to visit, eat at or shop at if you're the "I sooo love Shopping" type. There's even a calm quiet forest away from the noise just two JR train stops away at Harajaku (the Meiji Temple). The best part of this place is the airport access. For about $31, they offer door to door bus limousine service to Narita. It takes 2 hours but is worth it to avoid crowds in the JR express (two pieces of luggage/person). Be sure to book a few days i advance as they sell out quickly. Will definitely stay again next time I visit Tokyo.

Yelp
I was staying at Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku in 2014 when I first noticed Hotel Century Southern Tower, the hotel across the street. This hotel seems to be nicer, bigger and it is actually closer to Takashimaya Department store. I booked Hotel Century Souther Tower for my 2016 Tokyo visit and had a pretty good experience. I got out from the shuttle bus and noticed that there was no bell boy for Century Southern. I understand a smaller hotel like Sunroute Plaza has no bell boy, but a bigger hotel like Century Southern? Come on... There was a guy running around helping with the luggages. He saw me and ran to help me with my luggages. Well not really helping me actually...he took my luggages to the elevator and asked me to go to the lobby at the 20th floor. What I liked: -Great location. It is just minutes away from the subway station, Takashimaya and other shopping places. -Beautiful view from the lobby. -Discounted breakfast for hotel guests. -Free wifi. The password is the same for your room and its public places. -They have a vending machine. -Currency exhange service is available. -They gave me me a ramen map when I asked for food recommendation. I've been to Tokyo so many times and there was the first time a hotel gave me a ramen map. -Cute Century Southern towels. QUICK TIP: THEY LET YOU BRING THE CART TO YOUR ROOM.

Yelp
Had the best time staying in this hotel! My husband and I got to stay at the top floor in a room with a great view! We loved everthing about the hotel. From the friendly concierge, to the cleanliness, the amazing toiletries, and convenience of location made our stay so enjoyable. We were literally greeted by concierge evertime we walked in and out of the hotel. That's top notch customer service right there! The view from our room was so breath taking that we couldn't help but sleep with the curtains open some nights just so we could fall asleep to the twinkling city lights and wake up to the luscious greenery and blue skies. Definitely ask to stay in a room with a view if you ever get the chance to stay here while visiting Japan.

Yelp
This is frankly a superb hotel. Good: Location (beside Shinjuku station), value (250 -300 CAD for a king sized room -25-29sqm), service (the concierge were extremely accommodating for everything from storing my wine in a climate controlled facility to helping us secure the highly competitive restos of our choice), skyline views even from the public washroom! Meh: No in room dining, but there are endless options to eat (including hotel Restos to Starbucks to 24hr ramen joint).

Yelp
Why, hello Tokyo. Yelp had better gird itself for a 7+ year battle in Japan, but in the meantime let's bring this review over from that other trip advisory site: For access to Ginza, I'd recommend The Peninsula. For access to Shibuya, I'd recommend the Cerulean Tower Tokyu or the Excel Tokyu. For Shinjuku, the Century Southern Tower is my new favorite. It's also a pretty good value choice, for a visitor that optimizes for high-rise views and easy access to everything. + Fantastic views, especially if you book a room facing Takashimaya and Shinjuku Gyoen + Relatively new construction, about 15 years old, and holding up well + Infinite number of shops and restaurants within easy reach. Tokyu Hands, Uniqlo, and a large number of restaurants right over in Takashimaya Times Square as well. + Direct transportation to all other areas of Tokyo. For my particular visit, it was a single shot event to Tokyo Motor Show in Odaiba, as well as an event in Roppongi via the Oedo line subway. - It's not a full-service hotel, so there's no bell service for example. Perfectly fine for a lightly packed single traveler, preferably not for the first-time non-JP-speaking visitor who needs staff to make restaurant reservations, give directions to cab drivers, etc. - Abysmal wi-fi bandwidth - Breakfast is fine, but isn't all that. Instead, turn left onto Southern Terrace, head towards the station, and look for Gontran Cherrier on the left. They make some of the city's finest croissants. Pro-tip 1: If arriving on the Narita Express trains, be sure to come out the Southern Terrace exit. The hotel is closer to the platform than the connected subway station, even. Pro-tip 2: There's a convenience store (1) on the ground level of the office tower, and (2) a 24-hour one out the 1st floor door. The in-hotel convenience store is also reasonably priced and well-stocked. Pro-tip 3: If going to Roppongi, Azabu Juban, and Tsukiji, the Oedo line has a secondary entrance right outside the back door. Pro-tip 4: For accessing the JR Yamanote Line, heading towards Harajuku and Shibuya, walking over to the Yoyogi station is probably faster than going into Shinjuku station. Pro-tip 5: For the Metro Fukutoshin line, walk over the bridge, cut through Takashimaya Times Square, descend to B1 level for the Shinjuku-Sanchome station. Pro-tip 6: OK, one last transit tip - If arriving from Haneda during early hours, the Airport Limousine bus service to Shinjuku Station will put you 5-min walk from the hotel.

Yelp
Nice hotel. Comparable in quality to Shinjuku Hilton (slightly lower quality, slightly better location). Comfortable room with beautiful views of the city. Didn't try amenities (e.g., gym, room service). There is a breakfast offering in one of the hotel restaurants (ok quality, all-you-can-eat, not included in room price). The real attraction of the hotel is it's location. Very near the heart of Shinjuku and close to several Tokyo Metro and JR train lines. Convenient for shuttling around the city.

Yelp
Perfect hotel for a visit to Tokyo. The Century Southern Tower offers spectacular views! The lobby is on the 20th floor and our corner room on the 26th overlooking both the Shinjuku Garden and Yoyogi Park/Meiji Shrine. Rooms were spacious (for Japan), clean, and well stocked with amenities. We didn't try the restaurants, they were expensive and there were many other options nearby. The hotel is between the Shinjuku and Yoyogi stations which made seeing Tokyo via subway very convenient. If you are arriving via train, I recommend using the Yoyogi station. Shinjuku is considered the busiest rail station in the world and navigating it is a challenge. From Yoyogi, the walk is simple.
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic location, the hotel is located 5 mins away from Shinjuku station and Yoyogi station. The room was a really good size compared to other Tokyo hotels and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. Some of the best eggs I've ever had. The frontdesk staff knew some english so they could help pretty quickly. I'm sure every room had a view because they all started on the 20+ floor but our room had a fantastic view of two of the great parks in Tokyo as well as the Time Square department store across the bridge. I'm recommending this to my friends who go to Tokyo and might even stop by whenever I'm in Tokyo in the future!

Yelp
Booked this hotel 6 months in advance for a 9-night stay. In the past I've stayed in Shibuya but this time we decided to try something new and booked the Century Southern Tower Hotel in Shinjuku! Check in time is at 2pm, though we arrived almost at midnight. This hotel is Very close to the Shinjuku station, just exit the SOUTH exit (by Keio line) and walk over the bridge of "MYLORD" department store. Either take the elevator to the 2nd floor or walk up the stairs to access the large bridge. Once over the bridge, their is an escalator going down and you continue on the walkway past Starbucks, past Krispy Kreme to the business building. Enter and turn right, you'll see the Century Southern Tower Hotel sign (in English and katakana). These 3 elevators will take you to floor 20, where the hotel portion begins. On floor 20, check in (they speak some English) and walk down past the Tribeks restaurant to another 4 elevators (there's also a small convenience store near the elevators). All hotel rooms are floor 21 and higher which means you're pretty much guaranteed a view! We stayed on the West side where you were supposed to be able to see Mt.Fuji but the weather wasn't too good during our stay. We took the Tokyo monorail from Haneda station to Shinjuku station for about $6 usd. They change your bed sheets every 3 days unless you leave the card on your pillow to change your sheets. Put all used towels into the bath tub that you want changed. They provide two bottles of water daily and there is also a small fridge under the television. The television offers very limited channels and all in Japanese (even CNN is Japanese dubbed). There are several lights in the room controlled by a light panel on the bed frame and a large picture window on one side of the wall! (We had the King bed room). Bathroom is small as is most in Japan but it has a large counter space which is nice. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in Tokyo and very convenient, I would definitely recommend. *added bonus: make sure to use the 20th floor lobby restroom as both the men's and women's has a large, stunning window from roof to floor!

Yelp
Objective: Hotel located a short 5 min walk south of Shinjuku station (take the Southern Terrace or New South Exit). As a reference, the red-lightish district Kabukicho is located north of the station if that matters for families. The hotel is located on the 19th floor (and above) of a tall office building (next to the neighboring JR office building) directly across from Tokyu Hands and Takashimaya department stores. Free WIFI in the lobby and room. Subjective: Location very convenient to the station; since it was on the opposite side of the entertainment district of Kabukicho, it was much more quiet at night, which we preferred. It was a little difficult to locate initially, however there are several signs in the southern area of Shinjuku station pointing in the right direction. Along the southern terrace area, there is a starbucks and decent French bakery within walking distance. The location of Tokyu Hands and Takashimaya allowed easy omayagi shopping. Also several Family Marts and Lawsons were less than 1 min away for daily necessities. Staff was very helpful and responsive over email (corresponded easily in English) - we emailed them to try arrange several reservations and they responded (successfully) within a day of initial contact. Since there were 2 of us, we ended up choosing a slightly larger room. Room size was excellent for Tokyo; very clean and all the expected amenities. Price seemed a little expensive, but not unreasonable as this was a definitive upgrade over business hotels. Beautiful views of Yoyogi Park. We didn't opt for breakfast or any other meals so can't comment. Overall, would definitely return as the location and staff were top notch.

Yelp
Location is convenient. View is fantastic. Rooms are of decent sizes (by Tokyo standard) and very clean. Breakfast in the hotel is good and preps you for the day. Wish more amenities were available, especially for a stay as long as ours.

Yelp
It seriously isn't easy to find a decent hotel in Shinjuku. For some reason, all the best and high end hotels like to hide themselves near the Tokyo Metropolitan Office. I love Park Hyatt and would love to go to the beer garden at the Hilton but it's at my least favourite part of Tokyo; the west of Shinjuku! It's the most annoying and inconvenient area yet they still try to call itself Shinjuku. Anyway, enough about my yapping with the Nishi-Shinjuku. Century Southern Tower Hotel may not be the best but location-wise it's probably one of the best in Shinjuku. It's conveniently located at the end of the west exit of Shinjuku. Actually, if you're smart, you should forget about Shinkuku and just use Yoyogi station which is about 5mins away. If you're a guest there, head to their bar and enjoy happy hour for only 500 yen a drink! You'll be able to see Mt Fuji, Sky Tree and Tokyo Tower at night.

Yelp
Location, location, location. While Hotel Century Southern Tower won't win any awards for quirky, boutique-y elements or lavish luxury, its proximity to Shinjuku, Shinjuku-Sanchome, and Yoyogi stations make this a fantastically convenient hotel to just about everything. For luggage luggers, the Narita Express drops you at Shinjuku station - take the new south terrace exit and you'll be about 200 yards from the hotel. Granted, stairs are involved. And for those looking for a delicious local meal, you're blocks away from Shinjuku's excellent local dining streets that are packed with options from soba to sushi to yakitori to okonomiyaki. A few things you'll miss: -Reliable wifi. It's better in the rooms than the lobby, but that's not saying much. -Affordable bar drinks. With a pot of tea running you $9 USD, you don't even want to know how much a glass of wine or breakfast will set you back. -Room service A few things you'll enjoy: -Location. Duh. -Views from every direction. With a lobby on the 20th floor and rooms above that, I don't think there's a bad view in the place. -The in-hotel convenience store. Need a cheap an umbrella? Probably. Find it here. -Value for money. Every hotel in Tokyo is expensive, but this one does a great job of providing just what you need for a reasonable price (by Tokyo standards).

First time being in Japan and I'm so glad that i picked this hotel. The hotel is very clean, modern, and have an incredible staff. The location is quiet but its just a block away from all the Shinjuku attractions and also a block from the Shinjuku train station. Overall its awesome and convenient!

Yelp
Loved the service, location (super close to the Shinjuku Station and close proximity to all the action), cleanliness, amazing view from the room, staff, and awesome breakfast buffet here. Century Southern Hotel far exceeded our expectations and we'd wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Tokyo!

Yelp
This is simply an awesome hotel. It's convenient to Shinjuku station and all of the shops and restaurants there. It's within walking distance of the Gyoen Imperial gardens and all of the other attractions in Shinjuku. So location: excellent. The free breakfast is the best I had in Tokyo and Kyoto. It's more Western style, but there are typical Japanese breakfast items on the buffet as well. The room was relatively large for a Japanese hotel room. I could sit in the chair while surfing the web. The bathroom was also good-sized. And, like all of the other hotels in Japan, the staff was awesome.
