Chalet Gerard

"In a breathtakingly beautiful natural setting between the Sassolungo peak and the majestic Sella mountains, this restaurant serves simple mountain fare alongside a few more modern dishes, all of which are prepared from typical ingredients from the Alto Adige. Although you can’t book at lunchtime, bookings are required in the evening. Beautiful guestrooms are also available." - Michelin Inspector

Only ate at the restaurant Seperate vegan menu with lots of choices. The food was great! Staff was very nice and accommodating. Would only have wished that the vegan menu would have been published online.

Amazing service! I stepped in when I got cold after riding in a hailstorm. The friendly woman at the front desk handed me a towel and a hair dryer and showed me a place to dry myself off. Super nice and well put together place. Coffee and cake tasted even better. Definitely worth returning to!

It felt promising with the starters but the mains were a big let down. The menu states that fresh produce is used where possible but being served frozen vegetables (one of the cauliflowers were actually cold) with a 28 euro main was extremely disappointing. I would have provided this feedback directly had our waiter actually asked us how our meals were. Expensive lunch with not much to show.

We had an exceptional dinner at Chalet Gerard. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was exceptional. The restaurant also enjoys a beautiful view of Val Gardena. We tasted the Spring dishes and also had gluten-free options for my spouse, which were done perfectly. I highly recommend it and would definitely go back.

Hotel Chalet Gerard was one of the most positive highlights for my Dolomites visit! We didn't stay in the rooms but instead visited the restaurant en route to Val Gardena from Cortina and we both agreed it was one of the best meals in the whole trip! For reference, we ate at two other Michelin establishments, and this meal easily cleared both of them. Must-try the veal ravioli and the black rice cloud (summer menu only) Food aside, what also made this place spectacularly stand out was the service! Family owned, really cozy atmosphere and the host graciously offered to drive my fiancee and I to town after a car issue. Unbelievable hospitality and we will 100% return for our next visit in the region.

Just popped in for a cappuccino on a rainy day. The staff could not have been more welcoming even though we were spending very little. Great location even when half of the beautiful mountain in front of the hotel is in cloud. PS the coffee was excellent too

Fantastic dinner. The location is remote but unique and worth the drive. Food was excellent - dumplings, risotto, gnocchi mushrooms and pork salad - were great starters. Main courses were very good too. Great wine selection. Orange ice cream dessert was delicious.
