Hotel City Diamond in Mehdipatnam truly needs no introduction. It is one of the most iconic and legendary restaurants in Hyderabad, especially famous for its Chicken Biryani, which in my opinion is not just one of the best, it is the best in Mehdipatnam and among the best in all of Hyderabad. For more than a decade now, City Diamond has been consistently brilliant, maintaining the same incredible taste and quality, which is very rare for such a popular and crowded place. No matter how many times you visit, the flavor remains unchanged, rich, aromatic, perfectly spiced, and loaded with tender chicken. It’s the kind of biryani that people specifically travel for. During Ramadan, City Diamond reaches another level altogether. Their Haleem is as famous as their biryani, the Beef Haleem, which is thick, rich, and full of deep flavor. It’s easily one of the most sought after Haleems in the city during the holy month. One important thing to understand about this place is that you don’t come here for ambience or luxury dining. City Diamond is not really a family dine in restaurant, it’s all about the food and the taste. For families, it’s best to take takeaway and enjoy at home. This place is known purely for its authentic, legendary Hyderabadi flavors, not for décor or seating. Overall, Hotel City Diamond is not just a restaurant, it’s a Hyderabad food landmark. If you care about real taste over ambience, this place is a must-visit. Legendary biryani, iconic haleem, consistent quality, and unmatched authenticity, City Diamond is simply fantastic.

Tried haleem at City Diamond, Mehdipatnam, one of the most hyped and popular haleem spots in Hyderabad. When we first went around 9 PM, the haleem was already sold out due to huge demand. Next time we went earlier around 5 PM and somehow managed to grab it. The place is usually very crowded and you can see long queues just to get haleem. But it was definitely worth it. The taste was excellent and I felt it’s one of the best haleems in Hyderabad. One interesting thing is they serve beef haleem, while most other places in Hyderabad usually serve mutton haleem. Overall, I really enjoyed it.

The craze is real, they serve really good beef Haleem. The consistency is quite nice and so is the taste. I’ve ordered chicken biryani too, really good on flavour and masala. I recommend this place for takeout instead of dining. It’s not friendly for families to sit and eat.

Tasty food at a great price, but hygiene needs improvement. This place is a hotspot during Ramadan, and for a good reason. The Beef Haleem was delicious, and the Mutton (Beef) Biryani was flavorful and well-cooked. The portion sizes were enough, making it excellent value for money. Even though the restaurant was crowded, the service was surprisingly fast. The only thing I felt could be better was the cleanliness and hygiene.

First talking about food - When you are in Hyderabad especially during the month of Ramadan then you can't miss this place for its Beef Haleem, I think it has one of the best Haleem in Hyderabad. They also sell chicken and beef biryani. One thing you must be aware of is that in Hyderabad some old restaurants sell beef biryani as mutton biryani so you should ask them first before you order if you don't eat beef. Haleem ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Biryani ⭐⭐⭐ Ambience and service - I would not recommend you to come with family to this place as the ambience is not that great and the service is average. If you wish to come here then I would recommend to come on a two wheeler as there is no car parking space available.

Tried their beef biriyani Succulent and chunky pieces (7/10 ) I felt the rice is undercooked

Visited on May 13, 2025 I wanted to have a good Beef Biriyani, so visited this place, Coming to the food it quit tasty and beef pieces are tender and soft got 10 -12 pieces which is value for money. But the Beef Biriyani Quantity is less compared to the price they charging, They Don't accept Online payments so we have to carry cash . The Service is very poor, They Don't even provide Tissue Papers and their is no spoon for serving Biriyani, we have to serve hot biriyani with our hands. The Staff just place Biriyani on Table and go. After Completing Meal They Don't even give soounf ( Mouth Freshner ).
