Extremely well located hotel and was ideal for our overnight stop. Bedroom was very good, well supplied with additions in bathroom and breakfast was good. Staff very friendly but only issue was parking. I decided to park on a street 5 minutes walk rather than chance a tight underground car park with a large hire car. All worked perfectly. We had a lovely meal in the square a 3 minute walk away and a walk round the old town next morning before we went on our way. Lovely to see Girona.

The location of Hotel Ciutat de Girona was perfect. The street was quiet but within easy walking distance to the train (15 mins) and all the touristic sights, shops, and great restaurants. The staff were all very friendly and the hotel was well maintained. Within the room, the beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed. I’d recommend doing a walk through when you first check in as there were a few things that we would’ve asked to change (a towel with a stain, a bed cover with candy stuck to it) but we didn’t notice until late. Regardless of the small inconveniences, we enjoyed our stay and would certainly come again. Thank you!

The hotel is situated in the heart of Girona. It is an easy walk to any shop or restaurant you might want to visit. The shower floors are extremely slippery. I had to be on constant guard to avoid slip and fall. I was in two different rooms, and both rooms had broken A/C systems. The good news is that they were both fixed very quickly. The staff is friendly. The hotel restaurant serves up good food at a (surprisingly for a hotel) good price, but dinner starts late at 7:30pm (for Americans used to eating earlier). I would recommend this hotel to anybody wanting to stay in the heart of Girona.

The room was spacious enough.|Tea and coffee-making facilities are provided; however, only 2 sachets of decaf coffee are offered and no milk or milk sachets are included - we had to ask at reception and were then provided with fresh milk to keep in our fridge and a few more coffee sachets.|There was a safe in the room and a fridge, which was really useful for storing milk and medication.|The bathroom was clean and adequate and contained a good selection of toiletry items. However, there was no separate conditioner and I found the combined 'shampoo and conditioner' did not really condition my hair. Inclusion of this, rather than some of the less-needed toiletry items would have been preferable.|Usually, we find hotel rooms can be stuffy and too warm at night. This was not the problem here but, there is no duvet on the bed - just a sheet and a thin blanket / throw. We made the mistake of leaving our air-con on too low a temperature and felt cold overnight. It was great to have working air-con and it was quiet enough to have on overnight without disturbing our sleep. Just need to remember to turn up the thermastat!|Unfortunately, I found the bed too hard and uncomfortable and this resulted in poor sleep over our 3-night stay. It was lovely to return to my own bed.|Breakfast contained a fair selection of tasty products and enabled me to indulge in the local delicacy - a xuixo - without needing to purchase one from a bakery or cafe. What's a xuixo? ... imagine a sugary custard donut in the shape of a croissant ... yummy!|The hotel was well-positioned for our exploits around town and within walking distance to the train station.

The hotel is very centrally located to the old city, restaurants and rail station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a couple of issues with the room - no hot water and safe not working but they were quickly fixed. A wonderful convenient place from which to enjoy Girona.

We returned to the Cituat having stayed there in previous years. Once again it was excellent in every way. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely room which was excellently maintained and a safe secure bike room. We hope to return next year.

I had a wonderful stay at la cuitat de Girona. Great location, great breakfast. Lovely. The girls were lovely. All the staff were great. I just wish there was a pool in the basement instead of a spinning room.Yes I would go back, lovely hotel. Tried the restaurant for convenience. I loved the calamari and the lobster lasagne. It was a lovely experience. Very Spanish, the whole city was charming. I also took myself to Figueres for the Dali museum. Great bus and train station, amazing high speed train and great museum. I would love to go back.

Second stay here while visiting Girona. Fantastic location, friendly service, comfortable rooms and good breakfast. Added bonus of parking just around the corner (paid) and free bike storage and access to the best bike room I have ever seen, showers, tools, pump etc. Thank you for a great stay, I will be back again.

Yelp
A great place to stay when exploring this amazing city. The hotel is located in a prime location and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They cater to the cyclist community as they have the nicest bike storage and repair area in the hotel basement with a full SPIN studio. All in all a very nice place when traveling to Girona.

Yelp
I can easily forgive that the hotel needs a fair bit of cosmetic maintenance (see pictures of a few items) but the fact it felt physically unsafe wasn't acceptable. The hotel uses a motion detector system to turn on hallway lights. Unfortunately, it's not configured well. The dark picture below is my first two steps into the hallway (from either direction). The picture of the staircase was lightened automatically by my iPhone. And while it's likely the city rather than the hotel that created the problem, there is a curb that is invisible to those of us with depth perception struggled (see grey stone picture). The two parts are a step of three inches. Tape (yellow or reflective) would really help. The breakfast was "meh", they use only half the room (making it feel crowded), and the towels they insist on leaving take up the entire area by the sink. The person who was the Front Desk manager said that they were aware. (I'd asked to speak to the hotel manager but he refused to check.) I'd said I felt the problems deserved a one-star review. He told me I was wrong! No sense he cared at all (perhaps because I asked to speak in English and subtlety is English is tough.) He did have a safety light turned on in my hallway (which did help though it buzzed all the time). So three stars but I doubt I'd return.

Yelp
Lovely Girona! Great city and why not stay in the heart of it. We had great customer service, the lady in the front desk was very friendly. Our room was nice, clean, modern and a bit smaller than what we are used to, but it fits the needs. We had no issues through out our stay. Very easy access to restaurant and city, walking distance to main attractions. We got great rates at Expedia.com, otherwise you might want to call them to make reservations.

Yelp
Definitely one of the better hotel experiences I've had in Spain! The lobby is beautifully decorated and the staff here are very pleasant. We had one of the larger corner rooms and it was very spacious and clean. Extremely well located and it was also very easy to walk here from the train station, even with our luggage.
