2 Days in Kraków

"Housed in a historical building on Kanoniczna Street, this eponymous five-star boutique hotel is recommended by the MICHELIN Guide as the place to stay when in Kraków. The room design is a perfect blend of the building’s original architecture and contemporary style and comfort, with classical wooden furniture, frescoes on the walls, and sleek, modern details creating a truly special setting for a city break stay." - The MICHELIN Guide

Copernicus

"On Kraców’s oldest street lies this intimate restaurant that sits within the Hotel Copernicus, a former palace with 15C origins and an impressive Gothic façade. Wood-panelling and a stone fireplace give the dining room a historic feel to enjoy while ordering from the 5, 7 or 9 course tasting menus. Dishes are modern, adventurous and well-crafted takes on Polish and European dishes. The Italian wines on the list are the pick of the bunch." - Michelin Inspector

Hotel Copernicus (Krakow, Poland) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There was a time when Poland’s second city would have been little more than a tourism punchline. These days Kraków is rapidly emerging as an alternative to well-trod paths like Prague: its historical beauty is still drawing new crowds, it’s a surprisingly lively city, and it’s cheap. Thus you can’t really judge the Hotel Copernicus by its nightly rate — it’s a first-rate boutique hotel, and its relative affordability only makes it more attractive." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel, staff, accommodation, and location, were excellent! The coordination of transportation, and my entire stay, was flawlessly executed. They were hospitable, kind, every detail attended to. I highly recommend, and would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the entire staff at Hotel Copernicus - you sure know how to welcome your guests! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026!

Google
Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Copernicus and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in the Old Town. Great location and quiet at night. The staff were very kind and upgraded us for our anniversary which was a lovely surprise and made our trip very memorable. We loved the sauna and pool and enjoyed our stay here very much!

Google
Truly wonderful stay at the Copernicus. Beautiful hotel in the best location, right in the heart of Kraków’s old town. Spectacular dinner on the Saturday - we did the 7 course Tasting Menu. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time - the periogi in a chicken wing sauce were particularly memorable. Lovely spa area, excellent massage and truly welcoming and helpful team. Highly recommended.

My favorite part of this hotel was the beautiful underground pool. It had an eerie, serene atmosphere that made swimming in it relaxing. The location of this hotel was perfect. Walking distance to so much. My only complaint was breakfast was way overpriced for what one got. The bar area was great, and service in there was perfect, and the bartender made a great Negroni!

This hotel was spectacular and did everything right. The location is a few steps to the castle and 10 minutes from the main square. There is a rooftop for having a drink with great views of the castle. Great coffee and a bottle of still and sparkling water in the well-appointed room every day. There is also a pool with sauna on the lower level with an excellent spa. They have a Michelin rated restaurant. Our dinner plans got canceled when friends could not make it, so we did not get to try the restaurant. More reason to go back! Staff at reception, in the spa and housekeeping are all excellent. One of my best hotel experiences.

This is our third stay at Hotel Copernicus spanning 20 years, and it was another exceptional experience. The team made my husband’s 60th birthday unforgettable with sparkling wine, a handwritten note, and a superb seven-course tasting menu. The chef’s food was truly outstanding — we have eaten in several Michelin-starred restaurants, and he is certainly worthy of one. Kasper and Sylvester were exceptional hosts, and the chef’s surprise birthday cake was a lovely finishing touch. Elegant, warm, and consistently excellent — Copernicus never disappoints.

Google
Loved the location of the hotel as well as the history of the building. Room was very large, beautiful old frescos. Bed was large but not very comfortable, although we did appreciate the upgrade. Lighting in the room too dark. One light was out of order which should illuminate the ceiling, close to the bathroom. Food at the restaurant at night was outstanding and better than expected. Compliments to the chef! Wine knowledge of the staff was equally very good. Service at the restaurant was also very good, friendly and polite. Breakfast was disappointing, and not on a par with what is given at night for dinner. Service below par. Staff talking to each other in the bar, while guests are waiting to be seated and left standing. Some of the waitresses were very friendly, but some could not crack any smile and bordering on being abrupt and rude. Choice of breakfast is poor and too repetitive. One croissant and one brioche for two people... Very little choice of fresh fruit. No items such as yoghurt. Coffee was either far too strong or too weak.

The hotel is in a beautiful historic building in Krakow's old town. While generally it is lovely, it does feel dated in terms of furnishings, as well as a bit thrown together. For example, the bar area on the lobby floor is dingy and filled with a mix of chairs that do not work well together. In addition, on the main sets of chairs is extremely low to the ground and worn looking. These same chairs are repeated in the rooms - or at least mine. In addition, wooden furniture in the rooms is mismatched in a way that does not look chic or intentional. Room lighting also needs upgrading. Odd florescent glow from lights over the bed, dim lighting throughout. Service was generally excellent though I was disappointed when, upon check out, the front desk staff knew that we need to walk a bit over cobblestone to get to our uber yet did not offer to assist with luggage (which is not easy to roll over cobblestone). We did enjoy the small and boutique feel of the property - very cozy.

Yelp
My 1st Michelin restaurant experience and I am still thinking about it! Service, food, atmosphere, and experience was extraordinary! I'm super grateful and impressed as I hope to be back again someday.

Yelp
This hotel restaurant has a fixed menu lunch, but the items on the menu are normally not known until about an hour before the restaurant opens. We knew it served high-quality and innovative food. So, we checked with the restaurant around 11:00 and learned that the menu was to our liking. One of us is lactose intolerant, so the chef made special accommodations. The food is not only tasty but also very elegantly presented, and the restaurant setting is also quite elegant. The lunch was the most expensive we've had in Poland, but we were happy that we dined there.

Yelp
A+ Service and ambiance. Food checks off every top-notch ingredient. This is where less would have been more. Food is very rich. You pay for it too. Would have preferred simpler items where the ingredients express themselves more. I did love the mushrooms and lamb

Yelp
Tasting menu only had seven items with no options for substitutions. 3 fish courses, 1 vegetarian, 1 chicken, 2 desserts. No beef pork or duck so if don't eat fish you are going to be very unhappy. Languistine dish was overcooked and rubbery. Chicken dish lacked salt and flavor on some items and piece of squab was barely more than one bite. Strawberry dessert dish was all one soft texture, just mushy items with no crunch. Peroigi dish was only thing that was memorable

Yelp
We had an absolutely lovely time at the hotel Copernicus with our partners. The atmosphere reminds you very much of ages past and the staff is very genuine and kind. My favorite part of staying there is the turn down service and the attention to beautiful details. The glass elevators in the old building we also a great touch. I had wonderful sleep, and the shower was amazing there.

Yelp
Hmmmm. The beau and I decided with the 5 course meal individually. This restaurant was fancy indeed. It's a toss up. The food was delicious... The "presents" were thoughtful and tasty. Presentation in Kraków I've notice; beautiful and creative. But the portion? Come on... For the price? The portion was ridiculous in my humble opinion. Call me greedy but I was a bit disappointed with the portion. Not for grungry people.

Yelp
This hotel is phenomenal, one of the best hotels to stay in Kraków. So when I first got there, I was extremely happy to see that the hotel had free, reliable wifi. When I went downstairs, after stopping by my big luxorious room, I headed to the restaurant, which was vastly enjoyable! The location is close to dowtown Kraków, which is great if you plan on go site sightseeing or shopping. My biggest fascination at the hotel would have to be, the front desk giving you free European power adapters, so you could get some extra juice on your phone, to take some unique pictures of Polands. Overall I'm give Hotel Copernicus 5 stars, because of the friendly service, great food and comfortable room.

Yelp
Hotel Copernicus is definitely the place to stay in Krakow, especially if you are an astronomy fan. We stayed on the top floor and had sky windows so we could see the stars at night. During the day the natural light is lovely. The pool looked very clean and inviting, though we didn't have a chance to try it. There's also good lighting in the breakfast room because there are sky windows in the entire hotel. Pros: Comfortable beds Turndown service Two robes that will fit either a petite woman or a large man Great shampoo, conditioner, lotion (L'Occitane) Quiet at night - they have double paned windows Dark room - there are automatic black out shades on the ceiling windows Dinner was extraordinary - I recommend getting the tasting menu rather than going à la carte Excellent customer service Good breakfast and very good latte Lovely graphic design referencing Copernicus' system Cons: The shower pressure was weak in the morning but very good at night We didn't want to leave and we'll be sure to be back. Hope you enjoy it!

Yelp
This is our second stay at the hotel. The rooms are massive with loads of old world charm. This is vintage Poland in a spectacular way. (Don't expect American bathroom, it's Poland) The bed was huge and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. They will park your car off-site for a fee. The main square is a short walk away and the hotel is just under Wawel Castle. We will return again. The basement pool and spa area is heaven on earth.

Yelp
Definitely one of the nicest places to stay in Kraków, if you want an extreme comfortable and relaxing stay, Copernicus can't be beat. It's got an awesome location, a walking distance minutes away from beautiful downtown Kraków. I was fortunate enough to stay here with my wife and our family for a few days while coming through Kraków, and the staff and manner in which they keep the hotel was great. Very nice rooms - modern and classy. Not all rooms have a shower and bath, some have either or, as an FYI. The shower pressure was decent, and the beds were always made well. The food was terrific - we dined within the hotel on our first night, and it was one of the best we've ever had. The waiters were classy and professional the entire time, offering white-gloved pouring of paired beverages with our prix fixe meal. Awesome stay and amazing time here.

Yelp
While only in town for one night, this hotel was a great experience all around. The check-in process, room and amenities (fantastic WiFi and a lovely pool/spa area), breakfast included, helpful service at every turn, location, price and the five-course meal at the restaurant were spectacular. Made us want to stay longer!

Yelp
Hotel Copernicus is a gem of an architectural wonder. Not a nook goes unused in this imaginatively beautifully designed hotel. Copernicus' rooms, breakfasts and amenities are fantastic. The hotel has a delightful roof deck, which I enjoyed as a my private deck without competition. The small swimming pool is lovely. Copernicus is located just a few minutes walk from Krakow's bustling main square. From Copernicus one could easily walk anywhere in town.
