Outstandingly Affordable Key Hotels in Spain

"Although a half hour outside Granada, the Hotel Cortijo del Marqués feels perfectly remote. In fact, one of its best features is just how it manages to combine the tranquility of the countryside with proximity to a must-see city. Dating back to the 16th century, the structure haas been carefully restored and adapted from an Andalusian manor house. Today it’s a cozy, elegant atmosphere with panoramic views of olive trees and wheat fields." - The MICHELIN Guide

Hotel Cortijo del Marqués, a Design Boutique Hotel Deifontes, Spain

"This charming, restored Andalusian manor house is set in olive groves, 20 km from Granada. It has a restaurant, seasonal outdoor pool and a large family-owned chapel, built in 1878. Surrounded by fields of wheat and sunflowers, Cortijo del Marqués has easy access to the A44 Motorway and offers free parking. The Sierra Nevada Ski Resort is 60 km away. All rooms at the Marqués are rustic in décor, with wooden or tiled floors and wooden beams. Each room has central heating, a fan and a seating area. The private bathroom comes with a bathrobe and hairdryer. The Cortijo has a terrace with beautiful views of the chapel and countryside. There are garden patios, and free Wi-Fi is offered. An airport shuttle service is available on request." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Cortijo del Marques, Albolote, near Granada, Spain - Explore & Book

"A short whizz up the motorway from Granada, then a slower twist along a track through oak forest and olive groves, leads you to this imposing farmstead and chapel. Standing in splendid isolation amidst rolling fields of wheat, it feels Andaluz to the core: cobbled patios flanked by citrus trees and murmuring fountains wrapped within massive outer walls; towering cypresses and the chapel’s belfry silhouetted against an all-blue sky.Silvia and Eilko - the cosmopolitan, relaxed and go-the-extra-mile hosts - spent years refashioning the main house and outbuildings. They created 15 characterful rooms and suites, along with an airy dining room, where the food is in a class of its own. The vibe throughout is peaceful, recuperative and deeply relaxing. A pool is hidden within a walled rose garden, with divine long views out to the Sierra de Arana, yet the myriad charms of Granada and its Alhambra lie just half an hour away by car. Highs Wonderful walking in the western Alpujarra, or explore on horseback or by bikeGreat-value rooms, and we loved their original wood-beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls. One has quirky old pigeon coops, another features old horse troughs!Candlelit dinners that would be hard to beat; the menu changes nightly Set at an altitude of 800m, so even in high summer bedrooms stay deliciously cool (further helped by air con)Multi-lingual hosts make everyone feel welcome Lows The pool is unheatedNo TVs, and the WiFi is patchy, so pack good books to read in the eveningsExpect the odd bump along the the track leading to the farm, even if you don’t need a 4x4 to get hereYou'll need to drive to reach other restaurants for a change of sceneNo kids under 12 permitted (a high for some!)" - Guy Hunter Watts

"The idea of the country house hotel might not be as familiar in Spain as it is in England or France, but Cortijo del Marqués is proof that there’s nothing preventing them from operating at the highest level. This Andalusian country manor offers an escape that’s practically unique; half an hour outside of Granada, it’s quiet, surrounded by olive groves, full of ancient charm thanks to its beautifully preserved stone architecture." - Tablet Hotels

10/10 experience!! The hotel is beautiful, the people are welcoming, and the food was 🤤. Lisa, Jacquline, and Veronica were our servers and were the icing on the cake ! 30 minutes from the city and you get to stay in an olive grove! Adults will love!! Also they were amazing for gluten free! Every meal was still fancy and thought out. I could tell they wanted me to relax and enjoy!

We stayed here for 2 nights. An unforgettable experience from the moment we arrived. Eilko, Silvia and the team looked after us so well. Silvia was so helpful with planning our day trip to Alhambra and arranged a taxi to take us. The food is amazing and so nice to sit outside after dinner with a nightcap. Over by the pool there is a fantastic view of the sunrise and even in October the water was a pleasant temperature. If you have the chance then you must stay here. Thanks to Eilko Silvia and the team. Hope to come back again

Exemplary from beginning to end. We have just had a week at this glorious hotel, that we had great expectations of having read reviews, but which well and truly exceeded.||There were 10 of us staying at the hotel, across 4 rooms. The rooms were marvellous, tasteful and with the all important air conditioning. Gorgeous products provided it the bathrooms too. ||The hotel setting, pool and common areas are sublime. Absolute serenity, places of shade, and a perfect pool to actually swim a few lengths. In smaller hotels that seems to be a rarity.||The hosts are lovely people, kind, warm and provide great insight and local information. The staff are incredible, with amazing memories for any orders or special requirements. Faultless throughout.||And the piece de resistance, the USP above all else has to be the food. Just wow. The menu changes daily, with creativity and flair. We had some specific requirements including my own vegetarian peculiarity of no mushroom or aubergine, and that was accommodated perfectly. ||We know we have to return to this perfect hotel. Thank you to all who make it so.

Lovely, authentic and relaxed vibe throughout our stay. The rooms are full of character, with timbered ceilings, antique floors, and individually styled décor, while still offering full comfort and modern amenities. Hosts Silvia and Eilko made us feel genuinely at home and were always attentive and thoughtful. We truly did not want to leave. The peaceful pool courtyard and quiet corners around the property were perfect for unwinding between trips into Granada and the Alhambra, which is just minutes away. It was easy to find using SatNav (Apple Maps), which guided us directly to the front door via the last mile of track from the motorway roundabout.

A beautiful place with a great restaurant and wine list, thoughtful service and lovely rooms. A pretty perfect place to unwind and idle away the hours with a good book. Silvia and Eilko are the most gracious and helpful hosts and really, if you are visiting Granada, you should try to find some time to spend in their Cortijo.

Cannot recommend Cortijo del Marques enough - huge rooms with loads of character, delicious food, fine wines, and perfect hosting and service. We needed a place to totally unwind and relax and it felt like time stood still here. The daily meals are delicious, and nothing is too much trouble for the amazing staff. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you!

Sylvia & Eilko have hospitality down to a fine art in this amazing, privately owned hotel.|From the moment you step through the huge wooden entrance, you enter a magical world. |Cortijo del Marques not only looks stunning it has such a fanatic feel to it.|Great attention to detail and use of reclaimed and original features including a headboard made from an old door. It is quirky and homely at the same time.|A beautiful pool area with far reaching views of the olive grove and Sierra Nevada mountians and relaxing terrace for pre or post dinner drinks.|Food so good you won't want to eat elsewhere. Originally we booked food for the first night just for convenience, however, it was so good we ate there every night, something we would never usually do on holiday. A changing daily menu with fresh, local produce.||This hotel even comes with its own chapel.||From booking this hotel I'd imagined what it would be like from the pictures, staying at the hotel far exceeded what I'd imagined.||We travelled as a couple with a 14 year old and a 78 year old. All of us fell in love with this place.
