Crush on Kyoto is in an excellent location — close to malls, food options, and the subway. I won’t say much about that since everyone can easily see its convenience on Google, so I’ll focus on the room experience instead.
The room isn’t as spacious as expected, but still manageable. We were able to open our 24-inch luggage lying flat in certain corners of the room. It does block the walkway a little, but compared to many hotels in Japan, the space is actually not bad. Our room was next to the lift and facing the Kyoto Tower side, but because it was on a low floor, the view wasn’t visible. It seems the building design has only three rooms per floor: one facing the temple and one facing the back street, with the staircase and lift in between.
Amenities were well-stocked, including an extra roll of toilet paper and a full box of tissues. Room cleaning is done every two days, with no bed sheet changes. For two guests, they provide one small towel and one large towel each, plus a bathrobe. The smart TV allows casting to your own paid streaming services like Netflix and Disney+. The bathroom size is comfortable, the water pressure is strong, and there’s a smart toilet seat. Everything felt clean and dust-free — even the toilet was spotless with no unpleasant stains.
The only downside was the paper window (shoji-style) which had two small holes. I took photos and informed the front desk in advance to avoid any misunderstanding.
The staff were absolutely lovely. They speak and understand English well, always greet guests warmly, and genuinely make the stay pleasant. One staff member even personally delivered my luggage to my room despite me saying I would pick it up myself.
Overall, a comfortable stay with great service and a fantastic location.
