Hotel Daphne

I’d give Hotel Daphne 10 stars across the board. This beauty just opened December ‘25 and it is amazing how smooth the front desk, valet, and the hip Hypsi Restaurant/Bar operate for such a new property. Beautiful, contemporary art throughout. Gorgeous, well appointed overnight rooms with luxurious hair products. Love the dark green tile in the bathroom. That shower head makes me want to buy a new one for our house. Hypsi Restaurant has a big patio with heaters for cool evenings. Our server took time to explain everything on the menu and make recommendations. A table reservation at Hypsi is recommended. (Espresso martini, gin & tonic, shrimp and pasta hit the spot!) Location in Houston Heights neighborhood is convenient walking distance to shops ( including antiques), bakery, bars, and restaurants. For a beautiful hotel in a big city, the price is very reasonable. This hotel reminds me of The Daxton Hotel in Birmingham MI. We’ll be back soon!

Amazing find. The hotel is brand new, and on Google Maps it still shows as a vacant lot. The location in the Heights is perfect. The staff is extremely attentive, genuinely welcoming, and very service-oriented. The rooms are beautifully done, and the showers are outstanding - honestly one of the best hotel showers I’ve ever had in the US. Tip: you can get a discounted rate directly on the Hyatt website.

The Hotel Daphne is a gorgeous, upscale spot to stay. The decor is really interesting - very fun, yet relaxing atmosphere. Staying a week, we felt we got to know the place well. The food is absolutely incredible. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are so quiet and luxurious amenities. Looking forward to staying here again!

Sad to say too loud-won't stay here again. Beautiful hotel, but too loud because of the patio/courtyard of the restaurant. We stayed in a King Bed with a Terrace room which is 2 floors above the terrace-the music goes late into the night then again at 7am in the morning. Not the hotel's problem, but we also were next to guests who were loud too, so not a relaxing weekend. Another issue is coffee isn't in the room or available until 7am, so if you are an early riser and like to start with coffee. It's not convenient. Other than that-beautiful, chic boutique hotel. Restaurant is amazing!

Found this hotel while looking for someplace close to the hospital my father-in-law was at. Trip with my husband and myself. Great location. Hotel is beautiful, room clean, bed comfortable. Loved the smell of the soap and shampoo. would have loved to be able to have purchased some. Had leftover food from traveling and no fridge in room to keep my food. there was a fridge filled with wine, cokes, etc to purchase, but nothing for the customer to keep their own items. Ended up having to throw away. Not a great start. Valet at times seemed lost. The first morning when leaving to head to the hospital, the valet pulled the tag off the key chain and thanked me for staying and to come back soon. I said I am not leaving, they gave me the tag back and said don't lose and give to the valet when I get back. She did not try to fix or apologize. Restaurant. On Saturday morning around 8:30, when down for breakfast. The hostess asked if we had a reservation. We said no, we are guest of the hotel. She had to get the manager to see where she could sit us, even thought there were only 3 tables occupied at the moment. I understand, the hotel is wanting to be the "HOT SPOT" in the heights, but they also need to remember that the guest who stay should have priority since they are spending good money to stay there. Please get your priorities straights. On Sunday morning, there was only one waitress doing everything. Seating guest, taking orders, and room service. No manager around, no one helping her. When we left, there was a party of 6 who had been waiting about 10 minutes to be seated, and she was running food up on the guest elevator. With the hotel being only open for a few months, you would think that customer service would be the number one priority of the management staff. I hope that management does straighten out the challenges that they are having. The property has a great opportunity to become the go to place, especially with the expansion coming soon. Will we be back? More than likely we will try again, but if the same concerns happen, I will not after that and that is a shame.

Hotel Daphne is quite impressive with its art forward chic design. I’m always a fan of a solid boutique hotel and Daphne checked ALL the boxes. The rooms are modern but cozy….mine had a nice downtown view while overlooking the treetops of the historical Heights neighborhood. I highly recommend their restaurant, Hypsi, with its vibey and energetic atmosphere paired with delicious mixology concoctions and exceptional cuisine. I recommend the Duck Bolonese. Personal favorite. Will 100% revisit Hotel Daphne next time I’m in Houston….and again and again. -Kevin D

Well the idea of a hip hotel in the Heights really got me! My friend booked a room so as to be close to her family. I went to pick her up and arrived a bit early in hopes of grabbing a cocktail! The bar/restaurant was 1/3 occupied but the 6 seats at the bar were occupied! My friendly demeanor moved no one and when asked if I could grab a quick cocktail I was abruptly dismissed. “We are booked for the night” and “sorry”. Hmmm So I sat in the lobby and no one even asked to get me water. Sorry not sorry. Not how you treat people. There is no way all tables were occupied for the next hour but again, nothing. Maybe after the newness is gone the owners may decide to give a bit of love to those who drop in

Great Hotel with an amazing library space! It is a nice place to chill. We also ate at the restaurant and had a wonderful meal! we are very excited to visit again!

As part of the Hyatt group, this small, quaint and cute hotel recently opened up. Maybe a week or so that located in the Heights very walkable to the restaurants on 19th. The exterior of the place has a few things they are still finalizing details but what I did see on the inside looked very boutiquish. I would say this place fits in nicely to the Heights. Reception area isnt like the traditional grand entrance but are warm and inviting area. On this trip I spent my time at the bar / restaurant area. I think its called Hypsi. The place was nicely filled with people. I'm not sure if the folks were staying or were like me taking in the vibe. On this occasion I joined my friend and we sat at the bar area, that is integrated nicely with the dining area seating. The menu seemed to be Italian leaning items but seemed to be the right size. On this occasion I had the Orecchiette, which is an Italian pasta dish. What I also notice the prices on their dishes were extremely affordable and who doesn't like affordable in these times. Overall, I think this will be a nice add to the neighborhood and when the weather warms up a bit they have a nice patio area that blends with the dinner area well.
