"The cold will be a quickly forgotten concern at Hotel de Glace, Quebec’s ice hotel (and the only ice hotel in North America). While temperatures in the rooms and suites linger at around 25 degrees Fahrenheit, the bed frames (also made of ice) come with blankets and arctic sleeping bags. Pick from regular or theme suites; higher-end suites even have in-room fireplaces or private hot tubs for the cold weather weary. Guests who book suites at the Hotel de Glace will also receive a room at Hotel Vacartier on the same night as their stay, where they can make use of the shower and store their luggage. Keep in mind that this hotel only operates during the colder months—come spring, it shuts its doors."
"The ice hotel itself, open between January and mid-March, is a high-design igloo with Gothic-style arches and ice columns illuminated by ice. Walk off dinner on the winding streets of Québec City’s old town, even more magical in winter. Or warm up with hipsters at beloved bar Le Sacrilège for craft brews like Le Sang d’Encre from microbrewery Le Trou de Diable. From February 7 to 16, the Old Québec neighborhood fills with festive revelers with Carnaval de Québec, the world’s largest winter carnival. Shaking hands with Bonhomme, its snowman mascot, is a local ritual. Hôtel de Glace from $287" - Michael Kaminer
"Where to Stay: Québec offers many places to stay, but for a unique experience, consider Hôtel de Glace, the only ice hotel in North America. Guests are given sleeping bags, insulating sheets, fireplaces, and hot tubs to stay warm while it’s around 23 degrees Fahrenheit in their rooms." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"Hôtel de Glace at Village Vacances Valcartier offers tours and overnight stays from January to March, with rooms at 23 degrees Fahrenheit. Guests can enjoy hot tubs, saunas, and arctic-grade sleeping bags." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"The Scandinavian concept of the ice hotel exists in only one place in North America: Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier, Québec, the home of the straightforwardly named Hôtel de Glace. From January through March its extravagant igloo-style buildings contain some 85 guest rooms, whose beds are dressed not just with blankets but with furs and sleeping bags as well; some of the high-end suites come with fireplaces, and a few even have a hot tub and a sauna." - Mark Fedeli
