Complaint – Hôtel de la Cigogne, Geneva||Our stay at the Hôtel de la Cigogne in Geneva, where we spent three nights, was a total disappointment and far below the standard expected from a hotel of this reputation and category.||We were traveling as a group of three couples, and we reserved identical rooms for all of us. Upon arrival, however, it became immediately clear that one of the rooms was significantly inferior to the others in terms of comfort and quality. Despite this clear inconsistency, nothing was done and no appropriate solution or compensation was offered. While the concierge, Augusto, did make an effort to try to remedy the situation, the damage had already been done, and the experience could not be recovered.||From the beginning, the stay was marked by discomfort and frustration. The rooms were extremely noisy, with constant and very disturbing sounds. There was a strange noise coming from the telephone, as well as mechanical noises from the building, which made proper rest nearly impossible. In addition, the blackout curtains were ineffective, allowing excessive light into the room early in the morning, seriously compromising our sleep quality. Rest was simply not possible.||The overall level of service was equally disappointing. Service throughout the hotel was inefficient, impersonal, and unwelcoming. Both the in-room breakfast service and room service were slow, poorly organized, and lacked any sense of care or hospitality. At no point did we feel valued as guests.||A particularly negative incident involved the hotel restaurant. Prior to making our reservation, we explicitly asked whether the restaurant accepted corkage, as we intended to bring special wines from our personal cellar, including vintage bottles. Upon arrival, we were informed that the restaurant would not open guest-owned wine, stating that since they sell wine, they do not open wines brought by customers. This directly contradicted the information provided beforehand and demonstrates poor communication, lack of transparency, and disregard for the guest experience.||In summary, our stay at the Hôtel de la Cigogne was defined by inconsistent room quality, constant noise, poor sleep, service failures, and a general attitude of indifference. For a hotel that positions itself as a luxury property, this experience was unacceptable. We will never return, and we strongly advise other travelers to look elsewhere. This hotel does not deserve its reputation
