De la Cigogne

"Trained in some of the world’s leading restaurants, the chef at De la Cigogne creates fine French cuisine which is full of flavour and always beautifully presented. Choose between the “old school” interior decor of mahogany panelling and padded chairs or the pleasant terrace in fine weather." - Michelin Inspector

Great Drives: A European Tour in a Maserati Levante

"We arrived at Hotel de la Cigogne, located between the waterfront and the old town. From the hotel, it's just a short stroll over to the Caviar House & Prunier."

This is a true luxury hotel in Old Town, the nicest part of Geneva. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff was great. We got a suite, which is a huge room by European standards. Old Town is a fantastic neighborhood, with great restaurants and great shopping, and the hotel is close to the lake and a short walk to the north side of the Rhone. One warning: this hotel is a bit pricy, and Old Town as a whole is a pretty expensive area. This is probably the most expensive area where I have been in Europe. Expect mid-priced restaurants to be 25% more than Paris or Amsterdam. That said, if you want luxury shopping, there is a lot in this part of Geneva, and it is a beautiful and very walkable area.

Breakfast Time until 10.00 am is really short. What is being declared as junior suite is a langer room. For me personally a junior suite has two rooms. The location is great. Setting outside is difficult even for guests of the hotel, because many non guests are walk ins and there is no differenciation between Hotel guests and not Hotel guests. The rooms are old and have no balconies. Compared with the hotel Longemalle next door, there are in terms of quality of the rooms major differences. Longemalle has also a very nice restaurant. So if I would have the choice Longemalle is the hotel of my choice.

Absolutely awful, outdated room with a tiny tiny full size bed (for a couple) wiht a mattress that was old and so soft I couldn't sleep all night. The fixtures were gaudy and outdated, paint on the wall chipping and dirty, and the toilet room, separate from shower room, was smaller than an airplane toilet. For $600 a night this is a major disgrace. The staff of the hotel was lovely and helpful, but the ownership of this hotel has clearly forgotten about the property and maintaining it. I've travelled the world for both pleasure and work, this is by far the worst 5-star $600 a night hotel I have ever stayed at. I would never return.

Everything about this hotel was wonderful, except two things which were hard to overlook. The carpet in our room was absolutely disgusting. It had stains everywhere and smelled really bad. We did not even feel comfortable walking on it with our bare feet. Also, the couch had stains all over it and again we were not able to sit on the couch because it was gross. But the location, service, bathroom, bed, food and common areas were 5 star.

We had a good 2 night stay at Hotel de la Cigogne. Very helpful front desk. Made check in very efficient. Like how the hotel sends out welcome e-mail prior to check in to better understand the needs of guests and going all out to make sure that our stay was comfortable. Was a short stay and the hotel made it more worthwhile. Thank you.

We are completely satisfied with the hotel - beginning from the hotel location right in the cosy city centre and ending the highest quality of the service, comfortable room, very good and friendly team.

the only thing is that in summer, rooms are not well equiped for cooling. i asked a ventilator that your staff immediately brought, but was not enough and i also brought dyson ventilator from my sister s house. But i guess that in automn and winter it will be just perfect to stay at your hotel

This pit stop with no way to drive to is possibly the worst run hotel in the world. There is essentially no entrance to the hotel without steel barriers and the hotel does nothing to prepare guests to that reality. we literally drove around Geneva trying to enter this property for 45 MINUTES! Then to add insult to injury they made a reservation for us at the restaurant "they insisted" was the best in Geneva and assured us that our 2 puppies were welcome. After arriving at the restaurant and immediately being told that "DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED" we realized the level of incompetence at this hotel was thorough and complete. We returned to inform them that we would only be staying one night and that this would be our last stay to Switzerland. We finally realized that the only reason people come to Switzerland is to launder money and avoid taxes so the ridiculous overpriced food and horrible hotels are just a small price to pay for the tax savings! No thank you Switzerland you are just too incompetent!

Yelp
Super Lage aber doch sehr plueschig. Mit beistellbett fuer ein Kleinkind konnte man sich in dem Zimmer nicht mehr bewegen. Wer's sauber, grosszuegig und modern mag, geht besser woanders hin.
