"A belle epoque grande dame presiding over San Sebastián’s iconic La Concha Beach, the Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra has been a palace, casino, hospital, and of course hotel since its construction in 1865. Before and after World War I, it was the kind of place where well-to-do Europeans went on seaside holidays for months at a time, enjoying direct beach access, the city’s renowned seafood, and the hotel’s elegant design. Nowadays, the society consists of a somewhat less star-studded lineup—once Toulouse-Lautrec, Archduchess Elizabeth of Austria , and Mata Hari were all guests—but the unobstructed Bahía de la Concha views, lovely rooms (all with private balconies), and pride of place at the heart of the city remain. The window-lined brasserie takes its cue from classic French bistros—it’s not hard to imagine that the well-dressed gentlemen at the next table are French aristocrats-in-exile—and its tables along the beachfront promenade are the perfect place to while away a few hours over pintxos, txakoli (a sparkling white wine from Basque Country), and people watching. If you were to spend a few months in a seaside town, this would be the way to do it."

We loved this hotel and were truly sad to leave. Perfectly located on La Concha and at the edge of the old town and Centro, we could literally walk anywhere we wanted to go. The hotel itself looks like a grand Victorian era ocean one, and its inviting red lit sign and cozy bar accessible from the beach made us feel like we were coming home each time. I tried to get an ocean view room but had to “settle “ for a city view that, to our delight had a huge terrace with recliners and a table and chairs plus a partial beach view. Heavenly to wake up to every morning. The staff are the friendliest, most helpful you can imagine—from the front desk to the concierge to the bartenders and waiters. Breakfasts were copious and delicious, though a bit overpriced. Still, worth the splurge. One night we stopped in the famous Maria Christina Hotel and it only took seconds to realize Hotel Londres was perfect for us. I’d rather have the beach, the smiles, the bright rooms and terrace than opulence. Will definitely return!

The concierge outstanding! They both made our stay fantastic. Lierra is in a league that is unparalleled. Her warmth and guidance made our stay! She is a huge asset to that hotel. Our room had a small balcony on the beach so we had a spectacular view. Room small in my opinion. Breakfast was beautiful and the chef made us custom omelet tes each day with mango cut for my husband. The coffee was horrible!!!!! We loved our interaction with lierra...loved...loved..loved..|Fondly Dr Lawrence & Michelle Seigel |The one thing that was disappointing was no reception when we arrived!! No one made our welcome nice! Celeste also made our stay lovely!

Google
Great hotel and excellent vibe. Our first room was ocean facing with a wonderful sunset view. Second room was city facing, smaller, and had several technical issues (door didn’t lock, toilet didn’t flush, shower temperature not consistent etc). food was great. Will come back.

This hotel is situated right on the ocean promenade with both bike and walking lanes. Our room had an impeccable view of the ocean and of all the hubbub below. I will say, this could be a very busy/noisy area during the summer, it felt a little busy for us (beg of April) so can only imagine in the peak. That said, I’m not sure I’d want to stay that close to all the busyness then. However, it was such an easy walk to the old town, which we went into every night. There is also a lot of construction around the hotel/in the streets, which was not mentioned on the hotel website at all. Luckily the noise wasn’t really bothersome, strong windows! Room and amenities were nice and clean, nothing really stands out there good or bad. Robes and slippers and a heated towel bar are always nice! Ours had breakfast included, which I felt was kind of lacking to be honest. I would personally skip it. Staff was super friendly and helpful and the hotel had kind of an old Hollywood classic vibe to it, lots of pictures from the golden days of Hollywood to match. If you want an ocean view smack in the middle of everything and near old town, this would be a solid choice!

Was treated to this hotel for my 50th. Husband couldn't have chosen better. Super friendly and professional staff. The bar staff, inside and on the outside terrace, were exceptional. Handy fridge in room (to keep that champagne cold!). There's a shop 1 minute away for some more txacoli wine. |The only downside was the constant slamming of bedroom doors by the housekeeping staff !! Even though they were all really friendly, I couldn't understand why they are not trained not to slam the doors? Enjoyed every minute of the stay. Wish they had a pool.

This hotel is perfectly located for La Concha beach and the old town. It's an imposing hotel with a stylish interior. The service at reception was friendly but focused on taking full payment for our 3 night stay upfront (usually a hotel just blocks the amount at check-in rather than pushing through payment). I also had to remind them that breakfast was included in the rate.||Our room was an average size but nicely laid out. The bathroom was very pleasant with a walk-in shower and Japanese-style toilet. Whilst there was a kettle in the room, there was no coffee machine which we would have expected in a room costing more than £300 per night. ||Breakfast featured a large buffet with quite a bit of variety (including Basque cheesecake and very good tortilla). There was also a separate egg station where the chef was happy to cook eggs any which way.

Google
Absolutely wonderful. We got a beach view and it was worth every penny. The service was amazing with chocolates early and late. The entire place is well done and next level... Beautiful and comfortable at the same time. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Best hotel on the beach

Wonderful hotel situated on the bay of La Concha. Right out of a Hemingway novel. Old style with clean and lovely rooms with stellar marble bathrooms. I had a beautiful room on the sixth floor overlooking the marina and hill with a Saint statue on the top I could easily hear the ocean waves lap against the pristine sand beach. Breakfast was a Basque feast. The concierge, Leyre, is so knowledgeable, ebullient and nice. The hotel and town is seared in my memory and will always beckon me to return until I do.

Yelp
Stay here and pay for a room with a water view. A friend and I stayed in a Junior Suite with one of us on the sofa bed and the other in the bedroom. It was a perfect set up! We both had closets and we could shut the door between the two areas when we needed privacy. We stayed in Room 111 which had a balcony with chairs and a fantastic view of the water and the promenade. The windows were also fantastic. When they were open, we could hear the lively noise of the promenade but when they were closed we couldn't hear a thing. The bathroom was also very nice with a bidet attachment to the toilet. The toilet even had a motion-activated night light. The shower was a little difficult to use without flooding the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with lots of pinxtos, fruit, hot food, cold food, and pastries. My friend is a vegetarian and she found plenty to eat. One night we ordered room service and the food arrived within 20 minutes and was very good. The front desk people were also very helpful answering questions we had. The only negative was that we couldn't get the coffee maker in our room to work.

Yelp
This was our favorite hotel on a 3.5 week vacation, and we stayed in 5 hotels. This was #1! The location is beyond compare. Right on the boardwalk, with water views, and very close to old town. The food and drinks in the lobby bar and cafe were great. The staff was incredibly helpful whenever we needed help. The room was large with a patio overlooking the water. Everything was just amazing, and if we come back to San Sebastian we'll only be staying here!

Yelp
We ate almost every meal at this location while visiting San Sebastian! We were not staying at the hotel, just walking along La Concha Beach and came across the terrace seating. We were wanting to enjoy our dinner with the best view of the beach, and this place was perfect for that! The service was great, and the food and drinks were delicious. I would say priced just right given the quality of the food. Everything was very fresh, especially the seafood dishes we ordered. The calamari was cooked to perfection every time we ordered it! And the sangria here was the best I had in the area! Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Donostia-San Sebastian area! https://AtlasAdventured.com/

Yelp
I don't know why anyone would stay anywhere else. Yes its more expensive than other hotels in the area. So what, once you see the view from your room the world melts away. It is hard to put a price watching Sunsets sipping Champagne from the balcony. We did have an issue one night with the air conditioning leaking. They were great moved us to another room fixed it and had us back in the morning. I cant wait to get back. Take the plunge and splurge a little you wont regret.

Yelp
Amazing!! This is hands down the nicest hotel I've ever been to. The finishes were high-end, and the decor was beautiful. The bathroom was entirely marble, and came with great toiletries. Everything about this place was 5-Stars. The room wasn't huge, but wasn't small either.. it was perfect. The best part of all was the view. The view was incredible and the sounds are as well. A small balcony, but just open the doors and let it all in. Even with the doors closed, you can hear the crashing waves, and it soothes you to sleep. Pure bliss. The staff was great, as were the amenities. Free wifi is a huge plus when traveling abroad, and you can use it throughout the hotel. The bar downstairs was really nice and had several tvs at the bar and lounge areas so you could relax and watch whatever you'd like. I very highly recommend, but don't forget to ask for a room on the water!!

Yelp
Very old, but very well maintained and charming hotel. We paid extra for a room facing the ocean and it was well worth the extra cost. Lovely friendly staff and even a free late check out. Complaints are the bed was a bit creaky and the shower temperature only reached Luke warm.

Yelp
This hotel is impeccable. From the staff, to the room, to the ocean views, to the location. A true luxurious experience in every way possible. Wonderful beds, penthouse patio was big, marble showers. Wow!

Yelp
San Sebastián is amazing and this hotel is in the perfect location to enjoy the city. The hotel is beautiful. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful. We had an ocean view room and it just made for a relaxing and tranquil visit. The bar is big and has anything you would possibly want to drink while you soak in the ocean views. Stay here and definitely get an ocean view room!

Yelp
loved this beautiful hotel directly on the Playa La Concha (beach). fairly large but has the feel of a boutique hotel.there's a very nice lounge off the lobby for snacks, tea and bar service. rooms are lovely and nice sized. the rooms directly on the beach are more expensive (of course) but that wasn't so important for us. the beach is right there and the Old Town area for bars and pintxos is a short walk away. definitely recommended for a stay in San Sebastian

Yelp
We had a car and drove from Biarritz to San Sebastian. There is only a very small driveway and this made parking difficult. The hotel can only be legal entered from one direction. I would not see my car again until we left. No way I was going to try to drive again. The good news is that they have valet service. The bad news is that it is 23 Euros per night. My advice is too leave the car if possible. You could also investigate public parking options but I was too lazy to do so. Once we parked the car, we came to the check in area which was small. There were many people with suitcases waiting. It seemed very chaotic, but we were seen within in ten minutes so this was not so bad. The front desk was helpful. The spoke good English which was helpful since my Spanish is very basic. We received our room keys and headed up to the room. Although we had reserved a city view room online, they gave us a corner room with an ocean view. Not sure how that happened, but thanks. There were two balconies - one with a view of the ocean and the other a city view. The room was spacious with a king bed, desk, minbar, and couch. There was a sizable closet. It was nicely decorated and had pictures of old movie stars. The bathroom was large and double sinks. The provided toiletries were nice. This was a very nice room indeed. Temperature control was good. Wi-Fi was fast and free! One negative was no USB outlets. I could hear the people next door enter and leave their room. It was otherwise quiet. City noise was minimal despite being right on the street. We slept well. Throughout the stay, I found the staff to be helpful, friendly, and fluent in English. We did not spend anytime in the lounge/bar, but it was very nice in appearance. The location of this hotel cannot be beat. It is right on La Concha so you can smell the sea if you open the windows. Old town is a ten minute walk. Many attractions are within walking distance. I was able to book this for about 135 Euros a night. I felt like this a was a very good deal (excluding the parking). To summarize, the pros are the room, the staff, and the location. Really, the location is awesome. Well worth it. The cons are the expensive parking fee and the small driveway. If you are bringing a car, you may want to look at other options. I was also disappointed that there were no USB outlets which is somewhat unacceptable in 2017.

Yelp
Amazing experience and hotel in San Sebastián! I was so sad to leave. The hotel is located right on the boardwalk parallel to the beach so be sure to book an ocean view room. We were able to open our balcony doors to the beautiful ocean view every day and enjoy the breeze. The hotel is very old but very well kept and charming! Service is great. The concierge is beyond helpful and makes you feel like family. She was hugging us before we left and saw her warm and hugging all of her guests. The hotel has a great bar with good drinks and service. Spain is the land of gin and tonics and they take great pride in making really tastey ones! Be sure to stop by here to get drinks! The hotel is also less than a 10 minute walk from the old town which was were almost all of the bars and restaurants are located. Going to the beach is super convenient since you just need to cross the street and get in the water. I can't think of a better place to stay and can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Loved it! Gorgeous sea view room well worth the splurge! Would happily stay again! Nothing to complain about... wish it was less expensive, but you get what you pay for! This beach is so beautiful that it is worth upgrading hotels & rooms to wake up & go to sleep looking at it. Also in the nicest location in terms of beach access, shopping, strolling, dining, etc

Yelp
Great old hotel in the heart of downtown San Sebastian. Staff is very helpful and friendly and speaks great English. Right in the heart of everything and you can walk to old town the shopping go have tapas Or go take a walk along the beach. I have stayed here several times for business and the Wi-Fi and this property or top-notch. Breakfast in the morning is excellent in the hotel restaurant is also very good.

Yelp
Old world charm with all the modern amenities. We booked an ocean view room and were rewarded with No 114, right above the promenade with two balconies with panoramic beach views. If you prefer a sangria or coffee indoors try the first floor bar. The tables in the sunroom facing the beach and promenade are reserved exclusively for hotel guests. Fantastic hotel in a world class food city!

Yelp
Checked into the hotel on Christmas Day and was pleasantly surprised by everything! The pictures online don't do this place justice. It's even more beautiful than I imagined! We secured a room with an ocean view and I'm so glad we did because falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing is so soothing and waking up to an amazing ocean view is like no other! The location of the hotel is perfect. It's located in the heart of city on the water leaving everything well within walking distance. The staff is very professional and they provides excellent customer service. I would highly recommend Hotel de Londres to everyone! It's a little pricey, but definitely worth every one of your hard earned dollars!

Yelp
By far the best Hotel in San Sebastian. The views are stunning and the rooms are comfortable for European standards. If there were any down sides here I would say the staff. We needed help with one particular item and received minimal effort. That being said you don't come here for the treatment, you come for the city and the food.

Yelp
This is a very classy hotel in San Sebastian. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. It's located directly on the beach and within five minutes walk of the old town. The breakfast area is very ample and the bar service was fast and efficient. The beds were comfortable and the room was perfect. If there was one complaint, the price was a bit on the higher side of things. Location, location, location.

Yelp
Great place, friendly staff and easy access to the beach. Almost the entire staff speaks great English, so it was very easy for the non Spanish speakers in my group to communicate when they needed to. The location is historic and the building has been standing on the edge of San Sebastian for a long time. There are great old photos all through the property of what it used to look like.

Yelp
Didn't stay at the actual hotel, but sat at their outside cafe for some drinks a couple of times. Really great for people watching. Wines were great - tried the rose, white and red. Not much to choose from but so cheap - a glass will only set you back €2.50! Beautiful views of the sunset here. Definitely check it out if you are in San Sebastián. Super friendly staff.

Yelp
Wonderful! We traveled in the off season, something we've never done... book while on the road. We glanced up at this beautiful place, that in previous summers thought "who can afford to stay here?!" One of the advantages of January travel, a very nominal 120 Euro, our room faced the courtyard. The accommodations were excellent, larger than normal room with French doors out to the intersection below where you could enjoy the bustle of the city. Enjoy! (Note Price Range for our stay is Off Season)

Yelp
We stayed here for a week in July and found the hotel excellent for both location and service. Very good value with good sized rooms. Breakfast was as good as I have had anywhere and kept us going for most of the day. It wasn't included in our room rate but was great value for money. Leire on the concierge desk was very helpful throughout our stay.

Pamela S.

Yelp
What a lovely property. We chose a Seaview room and were not disappointed. The staff was lovely and helpful the location was excellent to everything that we wanted to see and easily accessible to old town and shopping. My friend left her hanging bag with her clothes and they are so kind and are sending them on now which I think is amazing. My Spanish is not easily understood as it's more Mexican than Spain and they were very patient and kind I can't say enough good things about this property. Would Stay here again in a heartbeat. Really really loved this hotel and San Sebastian thank you so much.

Yelp
location can't be beat. Right on the beach, near the old town. Nice rooms, helpful staff. Only complaint is the internet was pretty poor.

Robert H.

Yelp
Our stay was in May 2013 for two nights. The staff was very accommodating, and the location by the bay was beautiful and a short walk from all of the sights and dining. Don't miss the tapas/wine bars just one block from the hotel. They are also open for a breakfast of eggs and Spanish ham.
