"Bruges may no longer be one of the economic centers of Belgium, but this ancient Flemish city remains one of Europe’s most picturesque destinations, its streets lined with a wealth of carefully preserved historic buildings. One of these architectural treasures, a fifteenth-century convent along the Den Dijver canal, has been converted into a charming traditionally-styled boutique hotel, Hotel de Orangerie." - Tablet Hotels

We loved this hotel. Charming old European style accommodations and well located in the heart of historic Bruges. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed making tea in the afternoon using the lovely teacups provided and taking it to the sitting area just outside our room. There is a gorgeous sitting room downstairs to enjoy a drink or to read. The breakfast room is also lovely with tasty breakfast offerings, eggs, local cheeses, fresh fruit, pastries and more. From start to finish the staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Also available for purchase is Georges the teddy bear and hotel mascot. Since Georges likes to travel we brought a Georges home with us. All in all, Hotel de Orangerie was a delightful experience.

Lovely, warm and inviting small hotel in. Perfect location to see Bruges. The staff were all very kind and helpful and went out of the way to assist us. Even the night staff prepared an early breakfast for our departure day. I would stay here again. We enjoyed the deluxe heritage room with a little more space and comfort. Thank you to the manager for her good work.

Its a quaint and quite lovely building, right on a canal. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and a real asset, they gave us two great dinner recommendations (Brasserie Raymond and Couvert).|Breakfast was very enjoyable in a lovely paneled breakfast room.|We booked a heritage room - it was pretty awful, small and as the name suggests, very old and expensive for what it was. |While we would recommend and return ourselves, the room has to be better.|Location is via some very tight streets but the Hotel is very handy for all the sights.

Perfect location for exploring historic Bruges on foot. Phenomenal staff. Outstanding breakfast. Charming atmosphere . Spacious rooms. Beautiful & extremely modern bathroom. We found bedroom lighting to be a bit too dim. Rooms are located on both sides of the road n separate buildings. Lovely sitting room for all guests where we enjoyed cocktails & socializing with other guests in evening. Weather permitting, access to outdoor terrace overlooking canal.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in - and I live in hotels for about 5 months of the year. From the very beginning, the reception staff were incredibly helpful with luggage, directions to the garage, and checking us in. |The hotel is extremely comfortable - the room was just right in all regards. There are many extras to make you feel welcome, such as complementary drinks and a biscuit pack to help you on your way when you depart. Right by the canal, near the city centre, next door to the brewery! Close to great restaurants.

We had one day in Bruges. So, we wanted a comfortable hotel, close to the centre, that was reasonably priced. We were very pleased with the rooms and lobby. Enjoying a short afternoon break st their canal-side terrace was a bonus for us. We will gladly give this one full marks!

We had an impromptu trip to Bruges and chose this hotel by chance, they had only one room available left and we gladly booked. The hotel is cozy, charming and really chic, but the hospitality of the staff is extraordinary. They welcomed us with detailed explanation about the parking, a welcome letter to the hotel, a free welcome drink passes and a box of chocolates. The next morning we checked out and we received a bag of butter biscuits just because. 😊 It is a very good hotel and the only reason I give 4 stars to the rooms is because the bathroom of the room was in the hallway between the living room and the bedroom, and if somebody is in the shower, you cannot just go to the bedroom without violating their privacy. We had only one set of towels, of course, we got a second one when we asked. Another small recommendation is to have a small holder for the hand soap at the sink after unpacking and using the hand soap. Other than this, the hotel is really awesome.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stepped foot in. From the attention to detail on decorating to the attention to detail on a coffee. The staff was superb. The Terrace was amazing. The rooms were the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen. Five out of 5 stars TEN times over.

Yelp
Great location right on the canal near the square. If you driving to the hotel it is kind of tough since it is on a one way street and there is no parking on site. You have to get directions from the front desk and park about a quarter mile away. Not too tough but if you miss the turn you will get lost like I did. Our room was on the first floor which I am never a fan of. People could see inside our room from the street in the evening when dark outside and light on inside so make sure to close the shades. Overall, the room is nice but not as nice as I thought it would be. In particular the bed wasn't too comfy and pillows were too soft. They have a cool lounge area with a fireplace to have a drink after dinner or late night. Very cozy. They also serve afternoon tea in the room if you are into it. My wife is so we did it. We came during Christmas so the market was going on which was fun if you want to try different seasonal food/drinks. It is right down the street. They also have a lot of chocolate shops and other souvenir shops nearby. It was a nice stay but for the price it wasn't the experience I thought it would be.

Yelp
This is a review for the afternoon champagne tea. The room was lovely, however a little warm. I was wearing a turtleneck and began wishing I had different attire. I got a hibiscus tea and my husband a black tea. The snacks arrived around the same time the tea did. The tea was in bags, not sure if that's their normal way or a COVID precaution but we are used to seeing loose leaf tea at afternoon tea. Not a problem, just something different. I loved my hibiscus tea and my husband loved his black tea. So that worked out nicely. One minor issue was that my teapot did not have a thing at the top to protect from the heat. So when I went to put the tea bag in the pot i burned my hand (not badly, but still ouch!) i assumed it was safe to grab! Oh well. On to the food - We had 3 different kinds of sandwiches: a salmon, an egg salad, and an avocado one. I'm allergic to shellfish so they gave us the avocado instead of their normal third choice. We got 4 scones - 2 regular and 2 raisin - with clotted cream and homemade jams. We then had an assortment of pastries. Everything I tried was good, I didn't even have room for the sweets! I preferred the raisin scone over the regular (which I never thought I would say). Overall it was a good experiences.

Yelp
I can only confirm the quality of this place. 3 mentions, top notch bed, breakfast of champions, amazing staff. If you had the fact that the hotel is located in the center, you can be sure that you're going to have a amazing moment with them.

Yelp
Take usual Belgian prices for drinks + 1€ and enjoy a nice lounge environnement away from the crowd, some little snacks, top service and a good moment with your friends and family. Open on Sunday.

Yelp
We loved everything about the Hotel de Orangerie! It is an elegant and quaint hotel in every way. We stayed two nights and were in room #106 which was a very large beautiful room with a sitting area. The bed was the largest we had in Europe and the enormous bathroom had a double sink, tub and shower. We enjoyed Champagne at the afternoon High Tea in the exquisite dining room, and possibly the highlight of our stay were the evenings sitting in the elegant living room in front of the fireplace drinking wine and Scotch. The staff is very friendly and we particularly recall Peter and Mano who both speak perfect English who were very kind in helping us with all sorts of things. This is really a great hotel.

Yelp
This hotel is so charming and romantic! It is perfectly situated in the middle of town and is within walking distance if all the attractions in Bruges. The rooms are picturesque and their dining room has a very cozy fireplace. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I will stay here again the next time I'm in town.
