Hotel de Seze | Best places to stay in Bordeaux

"Immerse yourself in the charm and sophisticated ambience of Bordeaux’s heyday in this elegant 18th-century hotel, set right in the city’s historic Golden Triangle. Many original features adorn the classic rooms and suites, each with their own specially-designed wallpaper and richly-upholstered furniture; the excellent soundproofing means you’ll sleep undisturbed, in spite of the hotel’s central location. There’s an excellent spa with a whirlpool tub and spa-day packages, and a popular restaurant, Comptoir de Seze – which hosts a buzzy Sunday brunch – as well as a retro smoking room with Havana cigars. The hotel even owns a private six-hole golf course 10 minutes outside of the centre, which makes a great breather between sightseeing. This luxurious stay suits couples who like their creature comforts, and want a holiday feel as well as a city break. " - Dana Facaros

Everything was amazing. Small boutique hotel in quite literally the edge of the center of everything. A block from the Intercontinental and Opera house which is where everything begins. Their website is quite humble because the rooms are amazing and spacious. I don’t think I would stay anywhere else when we come back. The one thing I would recommend is go out for breakfast as there are a ton of options in Bordeaux and their breakfast buffet is satisfying but it’s not the enormous breakfast you sometimes get in Europe. As for the spa, it was wonderful. Did the body scrub and massage. Used the steam room and Sauna as well. Very worth it after long days of food and wine tastings. Overall, an amazing experience.

The location is fantastic! Just a few minutes to the main train station for getting to and from destinations like the airport or Cite du Vin. It’s only a few minutes to get to all the shopping and restaurants. Their service was excellent! The desk staff were very helpful. The bar and kitchen staff were superb. The room was large, clean, and cute.

This is a great location for exploring the town, very near the tram. The hotel is beautifully furnished, decorated and very clean. ||The staff so very pleasant and helpful. We had a last minute change of plan and they were so helpful in arranging our transfer to the airport. All in English as our French is limited so this too was greatly appreciated. ||My only suggestion would be a better service for breakfast. The pre prepared cooked items were not kept warm enough (in my opinion) and not always refilled. Tea and coffee were made individually and this caused delays. This was no reflection on the staff. They did their very best, particularly a young lady who had only just joined the team and who had a particularly difficult, busy service but kept her cool. ||However as this could easily be improved by the hotel it did not deter me from leaving a 5 star review as the breakfast (even as it was) offered various choices. ||I would definitely recommend and would be delighted to return.

This hotel has been remodeled to a very modern facility. The room was well decorated and the bath area was very large offering both a shower and bath. It seemed to me the bathroom floor was heated. It had a small patio with a view of the top of the large fountain in the park. Location in the central area was great. Well worth the visit.

Google
The bedrooms are generous in size and well-decorated. Bathrooms lack hair conditioner, make-up mirrors and are poorly lit. Towel warmer didn't work. The bathroom floor was very slippery when wet. The waitstaff were friendly and very accommodating. The front desk staff couldn't be bothered. Food was good, but not noteworthy.

We really enjoyed my stay at Hôtel De Sèze. The location is right in the very center of Bordeaux. The hotel itself is very clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. Our room was comfortable and quiet, which made for a very relaxing stay. The breakfast buffet offered a nice selection and was a great way to start the day. Overall, a charming hotel with a welcoming atmosphere — I would happily stay here again.

Google
This hotel is located in a wonderful location and having stayed previously across the road in the 5 star Intercontinental the Hotel De Seze compared very favourable. The hotel is smaller and while the owners have kept a warm French atmosphere it's general up-keep is ahead of the rather outdated and pretty shabby Intercontinental. Staff and our room which was a Double Deluxe were excellent and the Hotel De Seze will be my go to place going forward when in Bordeaux. Well done Hotel De Seze

We were a group of 5 friends who were touring Bordeaux each day with our planner "Bordeaux with Elodie" who we can recommend 101%. We ourselves chose this smaller boutique hotel. We booked a small suite which we are glad of, since guest rooms are very small and lack a lot of furniture and space to unpack. The suite helped a lot. There is a small not noteworthy bar off the lobby we used to. The location is brilliant and the price reasonable though not inexpensive. In This part of Bordeaux old town are hundreds of cafes, bars and restaurants to walk to.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Bordeux. The staff here provided the best service I've ever experienced. Very elegant facility, easy to walk to most things we wanted to see. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I spent 9 nights at this hotel and therefore had ample opportunity to be wowed or disappointed. I was very pleased with all aspects of it especially the helpfulness of Caglar on the front desk who doubles as the Concierge as it is not a large hotel. All of his input was sound. My room was a decent size, attractive and clean with big windows. I found all staff to be accommodating, helpful and friendly. At $20 the buffet breakfast is extremely varied, fresh and generous. Throw some oranges into the juice hopper and make your own freshly squeezed orange juice. When they ran out of cooked bacon one morning, a staff member hurriedly cooked a little more for me even though it was close to closing time for the buffet. The room rate was $320, a most reasonable rate and good value for Bordeaux during a busy week for tourism.

Yelp
We stayed at Hotel de Seze during a quick stopover in Bordeux. The spa was closed for renovations at the time so we got a great rate. We did not eat in the restaurant but the room was very comfortable with all the amenities. The shower was wonderful, especially after a long day of sightseeing. The receptionist was helpful and friendly and held our bags when we arrived early. A good stay at a nice hotel!

Yelp
Stayed 2 nights while traveling for work in December. Spent first night in an upgraded room and second night, on my return, in a regular room. Both rooms were beautiful with the smaller room probably ok for 2 people and the larger room definitely ok for 2 people. Great location. Friendly staff. Would stay again and would recommend to friends.

Yelp
I loved it. Has spa services. Have visited the hotel 2 times since the first visit. Restaurant is expensive - I would avoid it. There's literally a cheaper restaurant 20 steps away.

Yelp
Nice hotel, but outrageously expensive not only for the tiny rooms, but the most ordinary things. $13 for a tiny cup of coffee? Please. Prices were not listed anywhere, and when I asked, the waitress said to not worry about it, which made me think it was complimentary. And then I got hit with the insane bill. A friend ordered a glass of wine listed as 4 Euros, which they then charged 16 euros for. Really ridiculous and borderline offensive.

Yelp
Sebastian front line staff fantastic with helpful prints with google maps. Friend stayed at this place and wish I had too. Free wifi for guests that didn't kick off. Sebastian was the best part, helpful and considerate

Yelp
Stayed here overnight on a roadtrip of wine country. Staff was very attentive and spoke fluent English. Location was perfect, with a Car Park across the street/underground. Room was renovated with a large spacious bathroom. Slippers and Robes welcomed us as we entered the room. Overall, a great hotel.

Yelp
The major issue was the size of the rooms. OK for one too small for 2 especially if you are staying for several days. WIFI was better than some but had a problem trying to send mail to front desk to print out. Breakfast was above average but service was spotty especial for a refill of your coffee. Good location but there are 20 hotels within a quarter of a mile with the same breakfast and also larger rooms at a lower price.
