Nine Boutique Hotels to Know in Buenos Aires

"The Hotel del Casco, steeped in genteel history, doesn’t fit into either category. The palazzo was restored in 2003, but the building’s grand rooms, patios, and conservatory retain their original old-fashioned elegance." - MICHELIN Guide

Hotel del Casco, San Isidro, Buenos Aires, Argentina - Explore & Book

"Built in 1892 as a rather grand summer house, Hotel del Casco still offers all the pleasures of staying in the country. The relaxed atmosphere and the elegant building’s original features sit well within a calming minimalist décor. This is a peaceful location, in the picturesque historic quarter of smart San Isidro, with its long waterfront and marina; the ideal place to return to after the city's frantic pace. From the leafy cobbled street, wrought-iron gates glide open to reveal a grand classical colonnade. Inside is a stunning, light-filled central patio, with an original mosaic floor and a high ceiling of stained glass supported on slender Ionic columns. After your excellent breakfast, lounge here elegantly on white sofas among ferns, take tea, and plan your day. Ten of the rooms open onto this central area, with 2 more upstairs: all are high-ceilinged and grandly proportioned, with charming bathrooms. Across the gardens at the back of the main house, 8 spacious suites are similarly decorated, with views onto the pool. A charming, very civilized alternative to downtown Buenos Aires. Highs The beautifully restored colonial house gives a rare flavour of life in Argentina's heydayThis is elegant luxury, 1900s style: polished wooden floors, roll-top baths, antiques, fine paintings and gorgeous bed linenQuiet, historic San Isidro has plenty of shops and restaurants, and a pretty waterfront with a marina for sailing and windsurfing. Racecourses and golf courses are nearbyYou'll get personalised service from the friendly bilingual staffEasy access to Buenos Aires' favourite weekend resort of Tigre, which offers fabulous boat rides through jungly rivers Lows If you really want a city hotel, you'll find San Isidro just a little too far (30 minutes) from the centre of town to make more than one trip a day. Shop in town and return for dinner, or spend the day sailing here and head into town for the nightlifeNo restaurant, though breakfast is included and a nearby eatery can deliver meals to your roomSome noise from the cobbled street at the front of the hotelRooms opening onto the central area lack privacy, and you may hear sounds from the lobby" - Christabelle Dilks

Hotel del Casco (Buenos Aires, Argentina) 3 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In the last few years in Buenos Aires, boutique hotels have been popping up left and right. Some are perfectly stylish urban havens, while others are minimalist knockoffs that miss the mark. The Hotel del Casco, steeped in genteel history, doesn’t fit into either category. The palazzo was restored in 2003, but the building’s grand rooms, patios, and conservatory retain their original old-fashioned elegance." - Tablet Hotels

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Hotel Del Casco. What a gem. Quiet, well appointed and a classic colonial building with a fabulous courtyard and garden houses. The foyer alone is worth the stay. I can easily imagine a classy wedding or other event here. Plus the food is excellent!

Lovely hotel, great location next to the cathedral and walking distance to lots of restaurants and a grocery store. We stayed in one of the suites - it was very nice comfortable. Powerful shower, comfortable beds, great breakfast, helpful staff. The workout room is a bit of an exaggeration, but I did enjoy the dry sauna (didn't try the steam room, it was in a different area). The housekeepers did an amazing job cleaning the room, and kept the whole property very pristine. ||It was a little unclear whether "coffee all day" was a perk or something they wanted to keep secret? ||Gentle feedback: The room where the breakfast is served does have the coffee machine set up, and the door is not locked - so we figured that out in Day 2, when it was raining and wanted a nice area where we could work that we could make coffee any time of day (also had a canister of nice cookies). However, when we had originally checked in and asked about the availability of coffee/water - there answer was "room service"... Would be a really nice gesture if they kept coffee, some water, and maybe some fruit or snacks in that room all day like a B&B (maybe go crazy and offer wine in there every couple of days?)

It’s been a long time since I have stayed in a hotel where the staff are so keen to help make your stay as special as possible. Long before we even arrived at the Hotel del Casco, Fernando and Frederico were helping us with restaurants and tours. Their input really helped and we were very grateful. The hotel itself is like stepping back in time with wonderful courtyards and pillared salons. We booked the Casa del Casco which is a huge studio apartment with period furniture, a kitchenette and its own entrance. The only thing I could criticise the hotel for was a mediocre breakfast offering which could have been better but I can’t mark it down for this. Also, be warned that the rooms do have ageing furniture and dated bathrooms in them but for me this just added to the charm of a period building.

Located in historic San Isidro, this is an old aristocratic family home turned into a boutique hotel. Excellent location close to two suburban train stops, public buses, shopping area, and numerous cafes and restaurants. The wonderful breakfast is served in the conservatory. Your stay turns into a unique experience.

An elegant, historic late 19th century hotel with all the charm and wonder of its European aristocratic past. Beautiful antique furniture, neoclassic stained glass windows and a winding pebble-stone courtyard that surrounds a lush green courtyard. Absolutely serene. Complimented by a genuinely attentive staff who go out of their way to ensure a memorable stay. For fair balance, the rooms are not terribly sound proof but that’s also a big part of the charm that leaves you feeling like you're staying in someone's home and not just another hotel, the San Isidro Cathedral, cafes, plazas, shopping and riverfront residential areas are all within a 2-15min walking distance. I was there for a week and saw the joy in families, couples and even those like me, on business. I strongly recommend Hotel del Casco.

I was so very well taken care of in this charming, beautiful hotel. It felt more like I was staying in a luxury home with friends than in a hotel. I stayed in San Isidro for 2 weeks. My wife came to visit for a few days my second week and the staff was incredible ... they took such good care of us and made it like a 2nd honeymoon for us. Thank you to all the wonderful and welcoming staff at Hotel del Casco. Hope to see you all again soon :-)

A wonderful place to stay when visiting Buenos Aires, especially if you want to explore Tigre and the north of the city. Hotel Del Castro is located in the old part of San Isidro. It has a stunning courtyard and dipping pool, where you can relax, work or have coffee or meals. The rooms are extremely clean, spacious and comfortable, with high ceilings and refined furnishings. The breakfast is delicious and the service is impeccable. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about this hotel. The staff is amazing and property beautiful and is well maintained. The food is fantastic as well! I've stayed here more than once and will stay here again the next time I am here. It is located by so many great things in San Isidro and minutes from Downtown Buenos Aires!
