Dame des Arts (Paris, Île-de-France) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There are plenty of hotels in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, but their style has always leaned towards classic rather than cool. That is, until a new wave of boutique design hotels moved in, a trend bolstered by the opening of Hôtel Dame des Arts. Designer Raphael Navot transformed the 1950s former theater with richly layered interiors, think cream-hued bedrooms warmed up with a tactile mix of wood, porcelain, and bamboo and accessorized with an eclectic mix of artworks. Select rooms come with balconies overlooking the iconic Paris rooftops; some with a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower. Downstairs, restaurant Pimpan serves a contemporary take on French cuisine and in the Saint Germain spirit, there’s live music three nights a week. Come summer head to the secret garden courtyard or rooftop bar for a hard-to-find 360-degree city view." - Tablet Hotels

The location is great, providing easy access to lots of restaurants on your doorstep and the Metro (line 4) just around the corner giving easy access to the wider city. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean but tiny, around 13 square metres. The bed was a double, around 4'6" wide with one side against a wall - we have a super king (6' wide) at home, so we knew that was going to be a little uncomfortable and we just suffered it. We'd read the info beforehand, we pretty much knew what to expect, so there were few surprises and it wasn't a problem. There was always copious quantities of hot water available. We needed a couple of lie-ins to get over the night before but we were woken early by the cleaners talking very loudly. On day 2 we walked 22,000 steps and day 3, 18,000! As well as using the underground. We always felt safe. The hotel wasn't cheap, but it appears to be comparable to others in the area and absolutely everything in Paris was very expensive! We had hot sunny days and very cool evenings - take a jumper and/or jacket if you're out and about after dark! We loved Paris and hope you do, too.

Our stay was fabulous. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Amenis for all her efforts and help navigating the city and shopping advice. The hotel was quirky and clean. In a wonderful area full of restaurants, pharmacies as well as residential. The only thing I would recommend is possibly a small dresser in the room as closet space for 2 was a little challenging. We cannot wait to return and will definitely be staying here again. Xoxo

Stylish boutique hotel on a quiet street in the Montparnasse neighbourhood. Loved our room and all the bespoke design touches and comforts. Great location for cafes, shops, restaurants and access to sights. A stones throw from the lovely Jardin du Luxembourg. For folks travelling by train - an easy walk to Gare Montparnasse. We look forward to our next visit and exploring more of this great neighbourhood.

We just stayed here at the end of our honeymoon and our stay was lovely! The location is in a quieter part of Paris but well located near the metro. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, especially Amenis who helped check us in! This is our second stay and my husband and I will definitely be back again!

Typical small Paris hotel, but maintained at a high standard. Small but comfortable rooms with thoughtful touches like good towels, minibar, coffee and separate kettle. Staff were patient and accommodating. Would stay again.

This is a charming boutique hotel in a convenient location. The room was small (as is the norm in Paris) but in a good way, quite comfy and uniquely appointed. Mainly, the staff was so friendly and excellent, especially the lovely front desk lady who assisted me with a phone charger and general kindness, and the young gentleman who assisted me with coffee. I’d definitely stay here again!

Yelp
First off, they have air conditioning. When it's mid-90's in Paris, and you're logging some serious steps on the Fitbit every day to see the city, it's a nice thing to come home to. We booked two rooms for the four of us, and had plenty of space. Like, normal hotel space. I wasn't doing a gymnastics routine in there or anything, but I felt like we could move around and not constantly be in each other's way. The rate we chose had breakfast included, so we began every morning with baskets of bread, some coffee, fruit, and yogurt. After that, we were loaded up on carbs and caffeine and ready to venture out. We loved the location of the hotel. Several Metro and bus stops close. Restaurants and cafes all over the place. A laundromat a 1-minute walk away (which was good because I only let everyone bring one backpack). It wasn't near any tourist hotspots, so it was quiet and the neighborhood had a nice, laid-back vibe. They have a concierge on-duty 24 hours a day, so there's always someone to welcome you back and offer any assistance you may need. The staff was exceedingly helpful and polite. In the afternoon you can help yourself to coffee, tea, and some packaged biscuits (that my children helped themselves to many times). There's a nice sitting room where you can sit and talk. Or be on your phones if you're pre-teen and angsty about spending so much time with your family. Overall, great place. I'll stay there again when we return to Paris.

Yelp
Wonderful stay, great service. We had a few issues with our bank but the staff was very accomodating. They were very informative about the local areas, and their english was more than exquisite in an understandable sense! We didnt have breakfast included, so we skipped that aspect of the hotel during the morning, but the rooms were amazing and cozy, and the beds were perfect and comfortable. As the hotel is built along a street, you can see how it bends along the street aswell, which was very cool! I would reccomend this place for any purpose you'd be here, as it has easy access to the metro, and many good restaurants nearby. Thanks for the read!

Yelp
This is a nice upscale boutique hotel in the south of the 6 arridosment. The rooms are definitely small but that is pretty standard of European hotel rooms. The rooms though are nice, clean, and modern. The art theme is great and makes the hotel very unique. The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful and the front desk employees all spoke very good English. The hotel is in a good location just off of Montparnass Boulevard, which is a lively street full of restaurants. It's also just a 5 minute walk from Jardin du Luxembourg. Transportation is easy from here with a few bus stops close by and several metro lines a 5 minute walk in different directions.

Yelp
Since my visit to the hotel. I can't get that nice smell from the candles out of my head. Can anyone give me the fragrance of the candle? So that I can find something similar in America. Thanks

Yelp
Had a wonderful stay here, and would recommend it to anyone visiting Paris. After much research, booked this hotel as it had the best balance of amenities and price. On arrival, my expectations were met. I wasn't crazy about the decor, but taste is subjective and everything else was very good. Staff was great, location is great, and rooms were very comfortable. Small, yes, but comfortable, and air-conditioned! After suffering high temperatures out in the provinces with no A/C, it was a luxury I relished in Paris. The Metro station is right outside the hotel, and there is plenty of good stuff within walking distance - I was happy with the fruits and vegetables I got from a stand across the street, and on the weekend there were outdoor markets with all kinds of great things.

Yelp
Found this through Mr. & Mrs. Smith .com and for the price I couldnt be happier. Small (hey it's Pairs, dont hang out in the room!) but comfy and super nice staff downstairs. Little place, just a few rooms but I'd stay there again for sure. Very pretty decon inside. much nicer boutique hotel than staying in a boring chain.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the location of the hotel in Montparnasse. It was near Luxembourg gardens and a quick walk to three different subway lines. The room was pretty small - expected for Paris - however its lay-out worked really well, where a couple wont trip over each other. All and all, I still find it hard to shake the fact the rooms cost $270/night - only in Paris!

Yelp
Quiet and Quaint I stayed here in May '98 and it was a lovely, quiet clean room really close to the boul. Montparnasse. Rooms are furnished with 1950's wallpaper and beddings. Mme Charles was very helpful and friendly, mais vous devez parler francais !!! A. Rochard, Toronto.
