Hotel des Balances

An exceptional hotel! Our experience was outstanding from check-in to check-out. The highlight was the absolutely exquisite breakfast. The staff were remarkable, providing impeccable 5-star service. Loved the organic food options. Congratulations to the management team!

Their lounge is fantastic. Top service, easy going manager and staff, very friendly. They accommodated our slightly larger booking with ease. Compared to some other hotel lounges in Luzern, this place takes the spot for us. The wine selection is fantastic too

Ate a dinner at the restaurant but didn't stay at the hotel. It was a great experience. Very friendly staff, wonderful food, and a superb atmosphere. It was pricey but we went in expecting that and given the quality it was worth every penny. High quality food at an acceptable price.

The restaurant is absolutely impeccable. My husband and I ate here while staying in Lucerne for our honeymoon. I have celiac disease, meaning I need to eat gluten free and they had no issue accommodating. We had the best carrot ginger soup, smoked salmon appetizer, and I ordered the pike perch. It was honestly the best seafood I’ve ever had in my entire life. Then rounded out the meal with hazelnut mousse and salted caramel ice cream, absolute heaven!

Review of Hotel Des Balances – A Wonderful Family Stay We stayed in a lake view room at Hotel Des Balances for three days as a family of three, and it was an incredible experience! The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way, from the warm and attentive service to the beautifully designed rooms. Our son's 10th birthday was made truly unforgettable, thanks to the thoughtful efforts of the hotel staff. It was such a special touch that made our stay even more memorable. The room itself was spacious and offered breathtaking views of the lake. We also loved the Nescafé coffee assortment provided in the room – a small but thoughtful detail that added to our comfort. Although our stay didn’t include breakfast, we appreciated how easy it was to enjoy breakfast at the hotel whenever we wanted. The only downside was that we really hoped for a room with a balcony to fully take in the stunning lake views. And a little bit bigger Bath Towels. And perhaps Robes in the room. However, this didn’t take away from the overall experience, which was fantastic. With its prime location in the heart of Lucerne and impeccable service, Hotel Des Balances is a perfect choice for families. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning in the future.

Amazing hotel! We had the suite and it was great. Our luggage was lost on our flight in and hotel staff was so friendly on helping us out any way they could. Room was immaculate and the service was 10/10. One of the best spots in Lucerne!

Fabulous location for a beautiful hotel. Right on the river. The bar area is lovely and a superb breakfast. Just wish we could've stayed longer!||Worth upgrading to a river view room :-)

We are a family of four and have used Lucerne as a base to travel out to Interlaken and to the mountains like Mount Titlis and jungfraujoch. This hotel is in a great location with plenty of shops and restaurants around. The rooms are modern and very clean. And it has fantastic view of the lake! We booked a junior suite initially which was the only room that can fit four people but realised it was too small for us. We booked another superior room on the same floor as the suite and it was perfect ! In fact the superior room layout was more squarish and hence feels bigger too . We were also given coupons for complimentary Prosecco or wine each. Last but not last we had dinner at the Balances restaurant which is a Michelin guide restaurant and the food was great at prices similar to any Swiss restaurant ! Highly recommended!
