Great review and great pleasant staff. Even on Christmas Day check-in, welcoming and warm. Tne room was quite and the beds were very good. We stayed in a two queen room. The pool and the spa were clean and well kept. This is just a really nice hotel experience.

Google
Great homebase for our 4 night winter escape! Our 6 year old had a blast in the pool. We loved the lounge for relaxing and hanging out. The whole place was immaculate from top to bottom! Lovely revival of an older building.

Google
Solid hotel! Comfy rooms and beds, fast wifi, lots of pillows, good water pressure, and friendly staff. I had to work for a bit in the lobby after checkout and felt comfortable there in with the nice tables. Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the mornings. Excellent location in Downtown North Adams. Would definitely recommend.

Google
The hotel has been newly renovated with a clean, enviro-friendly, minimalist look. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Maid service was good, and the room was always cleaned thoroughly. The mattress was firm and comfortable. Rooms are equipped with refrigerator and TV. We would stay here again.

Google
Overall great stay, offered to provide a crib when they saw our daughter. Rooms were spacious and clean. Had coffee, water and fresh apples to enjoy. Nancy at the front was great to help us with an accommodation. Parking easy too with many places nearby in walking distance. Definitely would stay again! Thank you!

Google
When visiting West Adams and MASS MOCA, the hotel has a lot to offer. The rooms are nicely sized, and the upper floors offer great views of the town and autumn hillsides. There are no overhead lights. Instead, a floor lamp and two bedside tables provide most room lighting. This needs improvement. Bedding is good. What makes it unique? Free, convenient parking, kind and able staff, coffee/tea in the morning and evening, and art studios/galleries on the ground floor. You can walk to almost everything in West Adams, including the museum.

Google
I found the staff friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the bedding cozy. The hotel is very dog friendly, which is greatly appreciated. The location is great for events at Williams College. I stayed at this hotel on more than one occasion, with a consistently positive experience.

Google
Positive: This hotel was well located in downtown North Adams. It was fun and trendy with an art exhibit on the ground level. Free coffee/tea/hot chocolate and apples all day. The staff were friendly and the rooms clean. Negative: We were only disappointed in the inability to stream our services through the TVs (Netflix, etc.).

CaraStilling S.

Yelp
Hotel is nice but the choice to be cold or turn the heat on and not sleep is silly. The heater is so loud and comes on every 10 minutes and wakes you up. Worst nights sleep ever. The floors are laminate so it echoes even louder. They need mini splits so the sound is constant. The room is very dark, the bathrooms are dated and small. Front desk staff is very pleasant. I would not stay here again because it was impossible to sleep, no breakfast, no electric car charging.

Becky J.

Yelp
Horrible estsblishment...these people are very unprofessional. Oh and there are rats in the pool area

Janice D.

Yelp
Very clean, excellent staff, near everything! I highly recommend this place! Coffee and apples in the morning. The pool and hot tub were very nice. Good value.

Yelp
Pros: Amazing staff terrific restaurant downstairs, decent swimming pool. Clean rooms. Cons: Paper thin walls, lukewarm whirlpool. Both Sauna and steam out of commission. No room service. Spotty wifi. Expensive. Other guests. Currently undergoing reservations, the only reason this hotel earned its third star was because of the amazing customer service I received from the evening shift desk clerk. Yvonne and Bethany were the most pleasant young ladies who went above and beyond to ensure that I was well taken care of. Aside from that, a thoroughly tepid experience with fewer amenities (or at least *functional *amenities) I would have liked. My strongest criticism is for the lack of privacy. Your neighbors will hear everything you do and ensure that you *know*this. If you like the area and can afford it, it's not a bad place to crash. Just be sure to ask for Beth or Yvonne.

Yelp
Located in the center of town, within walking distance to Mass MOCA and some shops and restaurants and just a few short minutes down the mountain from Mount Greylock. Check in was smooth with pleasant front desk staff. However, this property is not a Holiday Inn Express and yet was not nearly as nice as some Holiday Inn Express that I have stayed in. The hotel is dated and definitely not as modern or up-to-date as Holiday Inn Express. The bathroom was tiny and old. There were zero - ZERO - outlets for devices and the outlets were either on the far side of one bed or across the room. It is 2018. This should not be. Tiny TV as well. The bed was comfortable. The vending machine ate my money which the front desk staff promptly returned to me. There is no breakfast included like at Holiday Inn Express and the coffee/tea station is minimal. Honestly, there is no need to stay in North Adams as the rest of the Berkshires is a short drive away. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Great Barrington after leaving North Adams. It is cheaper. Cleaner. Up to date. Modern. Good breakfast. And with much, much more to do than in North Adams. The highlight of the Holiday Inn in North Adams is the maintenance man who is by fair, the best-looking maintenance man I have ever encountered.
google avatar

Ralph W.

Yelp
Lock your door! I stayed there last weekend. On Saturday morning, a maintenance worker walked into our room without knocking at 9am while my girlfriend and I were still in bed. We yelled "hey!" and he left. On Sunday morning, housekeeping opened our door without knocking TWICE (!!!) between 9 and 10 am while my girlfriend and I were still in bed. Yes, twice!! We told the front desk and the woman there apologized. She said the housekeeping issue was her fault since she mistakingly thought we had checked out. She said she'd make sure her manager called us on Monday to apologize and took down my phone number. I never received a phone call. In my entire life, I've had hotel staff try to enter my hotel room without knocking 3 times... and they were all last weekend. Things are tough for hotels during COVID, however that doesn't excuse this sort of behavior.

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights recently as part of a long weekend trip. Loved the location, the beds, and the staff! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We would absolutely stay here again. Only downsides were the ventilation system, the alarm clock, and the cardio room. The fan was loud (a very loud fan sound, not anything rattling or unusual), so loud that it kept me up the first night. Also, the alarm clock went off on its own at midnight. In all my time at hotels, I have never had an unwanted alarm from the alarm clock! (Note to self: check alarm clocks before going to bed.) The second night we didn't run the ventilation and I slept much better. If you're one of those folks who must have a fan to sleep, you'll hit the jackpot here. Finally, the cardio room is super small and it was quite warm. There is one recumbent bicycle, one elliptical, and one treadmill. It was fine for our trip, but if the place is packed and you're hoping for a workout, it may get cozy.

Yelp
Didn't expect much, and our expectations were met. It's a perfectly reasonable place to stay in North Adams. The check-in staff was friendly, the room was quiet enough, and the location was close to the Mass MOCA and plenty of eating choices. But I certainly can't get excited about the place. The lobby seems a little run down, and the room, although spacious was not decorated with any sense of style, the bathroom was very dark, with no light in the shower, and the bathroom door was awkward for two people to navigate. All in all, it was not as nice on the inside, as the slick exterior implied.

Yelp
"Meh. I've experienced better." is a good way to sum this place up. I'm a Priority Rewards Member (fancy way of saying I earn holiday inn points) and this place is nothing special. In terms of the room, it's "acceptable" however the walls are apparently made of cardboard. you can clearly hear the conversations from the room next to yours, the walls shake a little when doors open and close, but if you happen to come here on a non-busy night with no one around, and you being the only person on your floor... well then you wouldn't notice any of that. the internet connection here isn't that great either. can't steadily stream videos from hulu, youtube or porn but many hotels seem to have this issue. (as i'm typing this, I hear the dude next door sneezing and coughing up a loogie. HU-HU-HUUUUURRRKJKJJK! PATOOIE!) Try somewhere else before coming here.

Sam S.

Yelp
Very thin wall you can hear EVERYTHING from next room. You can hear the TV, people talking and other "cardio" activities

Yelp
You know what? It's a Holiday Inn. I think you need to have Holiday Inn expectations. The staff here is really nice. Like, crazy friendly. The rooms are clean. It's right int he center of town and the Mass MoCA is, like, RIGHT THERE. And Mount Greylock is SOOO CLOSE. If I could review the boy who thought taking me to the Berkshires for my birthday should include a stay at a Holiday Inn... well... that might be a different story. One question, though, WHY OH WHY do you think attaching the pointy folded ends of the toilet paper to the roll with plastic stickers is a good idea? It's not, Holiday Inn. It. Is. Not.

Yelp
Pretty nice place. Rooms were clean. We were in 510 which was huge. Maid service did a good job. The front desk people were quite nice. A special thank you to Chantal Montello. She did a great job squaring us away in our room. All in all a great experience. Add on 09 JULY 18... It's still good- but the carpeting in our room on the 6th deck needs some SERIOUS cleaning. Our socks were black after one day of the 4 we are staying. GET ON THE STICK and clean them!

Yelp
I'll update this review later. Right now I'm in so much pain from an awful night's sleep in a terrible bed that it's hard to get going on time. The hotel looks nice and is easy to find and seems clean and bright. So it's a good place if you don't need to sleep, or you're impervious to comfort or pain issues.

Yelp
Rooms were pretty nice. Ate at restaurant. Had salad and French onion soup. Both were good. Gave me bread with food which was excellent. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Staying here for work in area. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Great view looking east toward the mountain from 7th floor. Friendly staff, excellent location, and great breakfast. Would stay again.

Yelp
1. Nov 25, 2018 2. Woke up covered with bed bug bites all over arms, hands, face. Huge, red welts. There were signs early in the day and the bites got larger over the course of the day 3. No response from hotel. I have emailed but received no reply. Here is response from hotel. Speaks for itself! "Any bites you suffered were not contracted here and you may want to look into any other places you may have traveled in the past few days, airports, rest stops, rental cars ect. (sic)"

Yelp
A very forgettable experience with a long wait to check in, receptionist was on the phone, Two people talking in the side office & no one paying attention to any of the guests waiting to check in, not a good way to make an impression. The rooms are OK size but showing their age & dusty, the lobby is rather strange with Misc real estate & other offices littered around the property. The Gym is an abysmal dungeon with half the equipment broken, the pool & hot tub were closed. Good news is the central location allows you to eat at other downtown places & avoid the Holiday inn.

Yelp
After reading some of the reviews I think some of them might be blowing the issues out of the water. I mean lets be honest. When you stay in the North Adams area there really isn't to much to pick from. So shall we start with the good things about this place? Well for starters the location is great! It puts you within walking distance of down town. Not that its really saying much here as down town is a little bit on the small side of things. BUT you can walk to MASS MOCA from here! They also offer free parking! I know many hotels that don't offer free parking. Many of them will charge you $10+ a night...Sorta stupid in my book. So I am glad to report its free here. The rooms are clean and house keeping came every day. They cleaned around our bags and what not. When we had the "Do not disturb sign" when we slept in Saturday and Sunday they didn't bother us! Unlike the last Marriott we stayed at...They cam knocking on our door on a SUNDAY at 8:30am to see if we checked out....Guess they forgot to check their computers or know how to use them? Well not at the Holiday Inn! Staff seemed friendly enough. It made Check in easy and check out was even easier! (ALSO NOTE: They will charge your CC another $50 on top of your rates when you check in for a security deposit.) They have a pool and work out area! We enjoyed the pool on Saturday morning. Very easy access in the basement area and it was clean. They even had towels at pool side in case you don't feel like bringing your own. All of the rooms come with a fridge, microwave, and a coffee maker. This is all standard! Unlike the last Marriott we stayed at in Boston. Free WiFi! They give you a user name and password with your 2 room keys. They are both good for 5 days at a time. Prices per night where pretty good for the area. It was $119.00 a night for us. They also offer discounts for AAA and military members! Take advantage of that if you can. They will ask you for the ID at check in. Now for the bad parts of the hotel. The walls are thin! So thin that you can in fact hear the person next door sometimes. So if your naturally loud (AKA ME!) beware...They can hear you! You can hear the cars on the road from your room. I mean more than usual. It can be annoying but you get used to it. No free breakfast! Now we never planned to use it but on the web site it did say that they offer it. But if you read the binder you will find that you have to pay an extra $8.99 to eat. Kinda lame but oh well. So over all the stay was pretty nice. It was much better than the last hotel that we had stayed at. They have nice rooms and and comfy beds. So at the end of the day that's all that really mattered to us. Its nothing above avg but its certainly not below avg! We have seen better. We would even stay here again next year!

Rico M.

Yelp
Standard older Holiday Inn It's pretty much the only choice in the town so it is what it is (5 stars for North Adams). The room was clean and very good size. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. It had a nice size fridge and a microwave that was very useful and save on at least one lunch. The pool came in handy but its shower room did not have soap. Probably the best thing about the hotel was its restaurant (The Richmond Grille) both the breakfast and dinner were both excellent and the lounge very nice. My wife had Eggs Benedict and Salom and I had a Farmer Omelette and Steak Tips, all four were great.

Mr. T.

Yelp
Being your ear plugs. You'll hear every word next door, even if they're not talking that loudly.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here 2 nights in July as part of our honeymoon travels. We chose it for the excellent downtown location, an easy walk to MassMOCA, Brewhaha for breakfast, Public for a nice dinner and drinks, and just across from many of the galleries in town. We also got a great rate on Priceline. Many people complain about the resaurant. Definitely do some Yelp research before you eat, or ask a local like we did. Its tastier that way. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We took full advantage of the hot tub, pool and sauna. It's a Holiday Inn and a pretty good hotel for the price and location.

Yelp
A++ highly recommend this hotel. Rooms are beautiful and staff is very accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure we felt at home and have everything we need. My first experience at a holiday inn, and I will surely be a returning customer.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for one weeknight in April 2019. We are senior citizens and tourists, visiting N. Adams for the first time. We found the hotel using Google Maps. I wanted to get a room in Williamstown MA, but most hotels there were booked-up, so I chose this hotel. This Holiday Inn was very good. We paid about $135 including taxes for an Executive Room. The room was spacious and it was really attractive with dark wood accents and tasteful decorations. The room had all the amenities such as fridge and microwave and coffeemaker. In terms of plugs and power outlets, the room was below average, but acceptable. They gave us a room on the top floor, the 7th, and the view was excellent with both the city and a large mountain ridge in the vista. The hotel lobby looked good and it seemed like the building is one of the most important spots in town. Breakfast is not included in the price at this hotel, and we did not use the restaurant inside the hotel. Parking is free. This is a good hotel and I would stay here again.
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
A great hotel to stay at. The rooms are nice and clean. The pool area in the basement has been renovated in the past couple of years. In addition to the pool, there is also a hot tub and a couple of saunas. There is a restaurant near the lobby that serves a delicious breakfast. I will be returning here.

Yelp
When I arrived from a long drive from Albany airport, I was impressed with the cleanliness and comfort. I had dinner at the hotels restaurant and had mixed reviews. Ordered a local beer and the bartender brought us a glass of half foam. We drank that and ordered a different draft and was brought a glass of 3" foam at top. I am beginning to wonder if he can draft a beer properly. After a third nasty beer I went to a Bud, at least it had a chill to it. We ordered the mozzarella sticks that were obviously frozen and were over cooked . Got the fish and chips that were surprisingly good, nice crispy coating and a very fresh piece of cod. Now the next morning we go down for breakfast and with the place 3/4 empty and were told we can't be seated for 20 minutes. Can't even sit at a table, have sit out in the waiting area. At the front desk, I was told because they are full with a group. I told her they were gone but I guess it didn't matter to them. After all is said and done, the hotel barely meets the price it charges and find see here else to eat.

Jason S.

Yelp
Very nice staff, older building needs a makeover. Very clean, good location. Don't expect great but it's not bad.

Laurie M.

Yelp
Clean with comfortable beds. Not a fan of the breakfast food but dinners are nice. Management is pleasant and very friendly and accommodating. We have stayed there numerous times and each time has been great.
google avatar

Jonny C.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast took 50 minutes to get served and cars can be noisy at night when you are trying to sleep. The pool is very nice with a hot tub and two saunas. One elevator is broken and the one that is working is very slow. Rooms are nice. Overall a good stay.

Yelp
My sisters wedding reception was held here on 10/5/13 and we were pretty disappointed. First, my sister blocked 10 rooms for her out of town guests, including myself the Matron of Honor. When I called to reserve my room in August I was told the room block was full, so I chose to book my 2 night stay with an online third party to ensure I was getting the best rate since I was not afforded the room block rate. My sister then spent $150 making gift bags for her hotel guests to find out once arriving to the hotel that only one person was booked under the block, despite being told that they were sold out. Needless to say our out of town family members made other arrangements. No apology or consideration for compensation was given. This is completely unacceptable, inconsiderate and unprofessional. As for the reception itself, again very disappointed with the service. All the waitstaff were in a hurry to clean up and end their shift, which made us feel like we were being an inconvenience. They were not accommodating to the bridal party and no special attention was given to the bride and groom. The bride and groom specifically asked for hors d'oeuvres to be saved for the bridal party and they weren't. Actually, the response I received when I inquired about this was a dismissive "what's out is what we have." Big disappointment for the very people that are PAYING for this event. Also consider having a bridal suite because hanging out in the lobby before being announced is not a good look. Speaking of being announced, the event coordinator did not set us up for entry so when I heard the DJ say my name a few times I was very confused. I couldn't believe this happened! The bar was consistently out of glasses, so instead of waiting 10 mins for the bartender to track down glasses (which she shouldn't have to do) I settled for bottled beer. Please consider the revenue lost because of this. General at a wedding, especially one that I am in, I like to enjoy a cocktail. Instead of being able to enjoy a $6 drink I settled for a $3 beer. Now factor in others who did the same and that's an alarming amount of money missed out on. The bartender was, however, the most engaging of all the wait staff. None of these things are much to ask for and expected when you are having such an important event as a wedding. It was heart breaking to see my sister and brother-in-law so upset about things that shouldn't have even been an issue. I think it is important for us to share our story with other brides who are considering having their reception or other events at your hotel. At minimum my family should have received an apology for these unacceptable incidents. I travel often and will not consider the Holiday Inn when looking for accommodations.

Stefan d.

Yelp
Yvonne Walton helped an employee of ours get her room even though we weren't there and paid the bill on the main reservation 800 number for the company. They should have told us we needed to get her an authorization but Yvonne was able to email one to the boss. 5 star service thank you Yvonne!!
google avatar

Shayna H.

Yelp
We stayed for two nights and our room was never cleaned. Also, there is no continental breakfast.
google avatar

Teri S.

Yelp
We stayed here three nights. It is a bargain, so I guess one must expect it to be worn & somewhat dismal. The staff were nice and our wireless worked fine. Our big complaint - No movies!
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
While the location is scenic and the staff was very friendly, the cost for the room (almost $150 with taxes and an extra $10 for a rollaway) does not reflect the room or hotel. The beds were fairly comfortable and they had firm and soft pillows which were nice. The bathroom was a good size, but the toilet ran so you had to jiggle the handle. The tub was so stopped up by the time we finished our shower, we had 3 inches of water. I complained and got 1000 points certificate. Which would be great but we aren't a rewards member here; we usually stay at Marriott's but North Adams didn't have one. Also, there was some square panel above the shower head (maybe a shut off?) that was rusted around the edge and had a hole in the frame that was stuffed with toilet paper. I didn't dare look to see what was behind it. There was also some staining/mildew along the caulking. Maybe the bathroom just needed a facelift? The room was a good size, but the roll away bed was a bit uncomfortable. It dipped in the middle and the springs were not very far away from your body! We did not use the pool but did have breakfast in the restaurant. It was VERY fairly priced and my breakfast burrito was outstanding. The pancakes were just "eh" and needed butter or something. The cinnamon french toast was "pretty good" I was told. The coffee was good and service was friendly and quick. If we go back (we went for a college visit) we would stay here again, but hope that the price goes down a bit to reflect the type of room you have.
google avatar

Lilly R.

Yelp
This was a great hotel (one of the only hotels in the area). They had very fair rates even for a holiday weekend with at least 3 local events going on. They had a sports team staying in most of the rooms, and they definitely catered to the team on a very individualized level that most chain hotels would not. Breakfast was more than I expected for a Holiday Inn room service. Bed was comfortable. Walking distance to everything in town, easy parking, lots of space in the King room, good window room with blackout curtains. It was definitely nice to have an indoor pool and hot tub when it was 10 degrees below zero. I'd stay there over a bed and breakfast again, especially with the rates.
google avatar

Tom C.

Yelp
The hotel is fine. The restaurant had the most disgusting food I had ever had in my life. Examples first my buddy ordered a harpoon, he said it tasted funny. So I tried it... it tasted rotten like no one had ever cleaned the tap lines. I ordered shrimp cocktail maybe I'm wrong but I'm under the impression shrimp cocktail is served cold? I dunno that's how I've always had it. It was hot and my cocktail sauce was marinara sauce? Making cocktail sauce is simple ketchup plus horseradish. This was just plain marinara. Then I had clam chowder...it was green I could only have one bite, it was so awful. Let me get this straight the wait staff was very kind and attentive and handled my complaining ass just as they should. They are not to blame. They were awesome. But this food was so bad. Do not eat here.
google avatar

Yelp
We stayed here with our 3 year old (disclaimer). The hotel staff were SO nice, and the room was clean and spacious. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but LOVED the pool, hot tub, sauna, and game rooms in the basement. The pool and hot tub could have been a *little* cleaner (why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5) but overall we really had a great time.

Elicia B.

Yelp
Amazing Hotel! Rooms were clean, beautiful and really spacious. The staff was terrific and accommodating!

sean n.

Yelp
Amazing! The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff was so kind and helpful. Would absolutely stay there again.

A K.

Yelp
We had a group staying here as part of a visit to the Berkshires, and thought for the price, it was a great hotel. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, and the location was perfect (it's right down the street from Mass MoCA!). If you need & can afford luxury, sure, stay somewhere else. If you want an affordable option for visiting the area, this hotel is great.

robin s.

Yelp
Recently stayed at this location. The hotel staff was really nice and the room was very clean. Loved being able to walk around town and enjoy the sights. If you are going for Mass MoCA you are right there and if by chance you are here for the college you can walk there too. Would definitely stay here again.

Jane E.

Yelp
Our stay this weekend was very pleasant. The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. We would stay there again. Unfortunately, the restaurant was terrible: food quality, service and professionalism. We won't eat there again. Five stars for the hotel (it is after all, a Holiday Inn so mange your expectations). Zero stars for the restaurant.
