"In the sleepy Bressan village of Vonnas, alongside a gentle river flowing through fields of wildflowers, is one of the finest restaurants in France, accompanied by a charming country inn. Georges Blanc may be one of the country’s most celebrated chefs, and his eponymous restaurant may be the main attraction, but the hotel is no mere afterthought; the Blanc family has been serving poulet de Bresse to satisfied guests since before the Revolution. The hotel itself is elegant yet unpretentious, rather like the cuisine; rooms are contemporary, with traditional country accents like beamed attic ceilings or authentic Bressan woodwork. They’re distinctly un-fussy, going easy on the antiques, and bathrooms are utterly modern, tiled, with vast expanses of mirrors and bright light. Services include the musts like a bar and lounge, a swimming pool in the gardens between the Veyle and Renom rivers, and a helipad, in case you need to make a grand entrance. And the Georges Blanc restaurant is cut from the same cloth — though the dining room is slightly ostentatious, with its floral-print tapestries and Louis XIII chairs, the cuisine is rooted in the local tradition, emphasizing lobster, crab, and those famous chickens. Bois Blanc is a beautiful hotel, set in stunning grounds. Our room was very comfortable with a superb shower. The evening meal was a real gourmet treat. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We will return.

The hotel is truly unique. The guestrooms around the pool are spacious and very well equipped, the surrounding park is nice and you can enjoy a walk. The French Airforces' Mirage fighter in the garden is definitely an unexpected eye-catcher. The main building with the very good restaurant is cozy and we enjoyed a very nice dinner with local specialities.||When again in the area I certainly would stay again in the Hotel du Bois Blanc!

The hotel is in a beautiful setting some 10 minutes outside of Vonnas. Depending on the entrance you come in overlooking a pond. On the right an old Mirage airplane will catch your eye. Behind the small castle there is another pond.|Reception was friendly but seemed a bit lost, farewell was again friendly and since it was an early departure a coffee was offered :-).|Next to the castle where there are several dining areas there are the very modern rooms. These are very spacious with a big bed (not too comfy though). Good coffee in the room, a nice bathroom and a separate toilet.|In my opinion the rooms are a bit overly modern, but probably were intended to contrast the old building.|We had a private event and the food served was good.|In summer the water of the two ponds is not inviting as it seems dead. But there is a spa in the vicinity (at cost).|Would I go back for a romantic weekend? - I am afraid not, there was a lack of atmosphere that would have made it an extraordinary stay.|Great though that there were 2 Tesla and a regular car chargers!

Georges Blanc owns 3 places with rooms in Vonnas but they use one site to make reservations (the staff know this and admitted it causes mistakes). This hotel is 2km outside and if they have a wedding on they will not show you cannot eat in the restaurant and if you then have to eat in his Auberge 'bistro' style restaurant please remember this does not have a star rating and instead has slow service, unimaginative stodgy food and some annoying staff. Avoid. The exterior rooms at the Bois Blanc are new, spacious and suffer from the usual hard bed - another painful night. No compensation of quality/fittings/services can compensate for a bad nights sleep. Will never return.

Went there for a 24 hours escape with my small dog.|The domain is beautiful, amazing with dogs as walks in and around are fantastic.|Perfect rooms, very clean, great bed, modern bathroom, all 5 stars. Price per night excellent.||However... I cannot believe how disappointing the menu and the cuisine is. Georges Blanc's touch is not present even remotely.|The staff was as kind as possible but needs to learn how to serve a meal properly, with a hint of class.|Georges Blanc must fix the restaurant's problems.

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by chaos. We waited some time before someone could assist us with the check in. Once we had our key, they escorted us to the room. Once we settled we decided we would go and have a drink at the main hotel and discuss our next days travel. There were staff buzzing around while we stood waiting for someone to attend to us. There was no bar to sit at so we were offered the two occasional chairs in the hallway entrance to the hotel. We declined. We asked instead to have the drinks delivered to the room. We were warned it would take some time. Eventually the drinks arrived and we sat on our lovely outdoor patio enjoying our drinks and nature. The room was basic. No alcohol in the mini bar. No conditioner or cotton pads/ear buds in the bathroom. |The grounds are beautiful and the main hotel is a lovely building. |This is not the Relais&châteaux standard we have come to expect. Very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend. |

The hotel itself is located in a beautiful BN parc. The rooms a very big and compfortable. Breakfast is good too but the restaurant is very expensive and disappointing. The food was ok but average and wasn't worth its price. |They are family-friendly and offer a kidsmenu chairs for toddlers as well.

In this quite new hotel, another root of the George Blanc imperium, everything is in red, inside as well as outside. This makes a somewhat strange impression on first sight, but afteralll it nevertheless has something. Rooms are in pavillions gathered around the pool and all have private terrace. A nice general outside terrace where you can have a drink however is lacking. This "red" hotel also is rated three red houses in Michelin guide. Maybe objectively is little high rated, but nevertheless a very nice place, certainly for people who prefer a quiet location. Can certainly recommend.
