Hôtel du Buet

Come prepared to exchange a bevy of insults with the inebriated covey who run this place. Example of customer service: “No, we can’t tell you when your room will be ready. Maybe 5pm maybe 10pm, who knows?” Check out the manager’s response to previous low reviews for an “amuse bouche” of what’s on offer if you don’t believe me. They must have a bet that their location is so great their business will survive no matter how many guests they treat like dirt.

Came here after an ascent of Le Buet and also completing the Breche Berard route. Food looked excellent, service good too, clearly recognised that we were tired after a long day. Excellent site just across from the railway station, all the routes up the Berard valley start from here.

Strange and bad service. Ok ish food. If you have a good day I promise you the old lady in the bar can make it a bad one and make it worse than a bad one. Payment stuff not really working. Pick another place if you want to eat and drink, and your day will be much better.

Had the most amazing experience (again) at Hotel Du Buet. This hotel has been in the same family for 120 years and it really feels like you’re a guest in their home. Amazing food, drink, atmosphere, and affordable too! Well located by the train station for easy access to the slopes.

The cafe is very hospitable and the staff is friendly. The coffee is proper 👍

What a beautiful place to rest and refresh after a walk in the Berard Valley. A lovely garden with alpine views and a slow food ethos to allow you to take in the views. We were serviced by a charming waiter, in three languages. Simple, authentic alpine food. We can recommend the fondue...

This was my first time staying at this hotel (aside from having lunch at the bar), and it was an excellent experience. The hotel is quiet, clean, and pleasant to be in. It is managed by two very nice sisters who are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and satisfying, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area who is looking for a quiet, pleasant place to relax for a few days or seeking shelter from the rain. The night I spent at the hotel was the best night's sleep I had in three weeks of camping and staying in mountain huts around the Mont Blanc massif.

If you like TERRIBLE service with incredibly grumpy servers who want you charge you for a ‘dash of milk in your espresso’ because its then a cafe au lait 🤣🤣🤣 I mean literally a tiny drop, this is your place. Thank goodness I didn’t request a flat white or a macchiato! I may have had to take a loan… Oh and we asked for breakfast and got a sharp ‘no’ then had to ask if the pastries that were on display were for sale…they were…I wonder if they actually want to make money. They also told us to go to Switzerland where we get charged that price for one coffee - well in Switzerland they understand the concept of service and I will happily pay for that! We live in the region, will actively avoid. Suggest you do to!
