"Rising from the ashes of the 60’s Red Lion Hotel is the east side’s latest entry into Portland’s hip hotel scene—the Eastlund. Cut from the same pedigree as the downtown Modera Hotel, the Eastlund is a welcome upgrade in the evolving convention center area. The fun starts in the bright, expansive lobby, where eye-catching art welcomes visitors. The staff is tuned to deliver exceptional customer service, and the vibe is genuine and unpretentious. Amenities include great food, local spirits, tech-savvy rooms, and super-fast Wi-Fi throughout the property. The rooms and public spaces put art front and center, while the meeting areas are wired for productivity. Business and leisure travelers also benefit from attention to detail and a staff committed to getting it if it’s not already available. The efficient, comfort-forward rooms boast big flat-screens and colorful décor, and the river and city views from the upper levels are spectacular day and night. An easy MAX ride from the airport, The Eastlund is also delightfully located within walking distance of a variety of transportation, entertainment, meeting, and dining opportunities. With so many on-site amenities, however, you might just find yourself pleasantly planted during your Portland stay."

Hotel Eastlund

"So, where are we?Portland’s up-and-coming Lloyd District has a lot going for it: It's just across the river from downtown, it’s well positioned for exploring the east side’s fun, funky little neighborhoods and exceptional restaurant (and beer) scene, and it affords excellent access to public transportation and major venues like the Oregon Convention Center and the Moda Center, home the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers. The area’s seemingly ceaseless development has brought with it a crop of new neighborhood hotels, and the Eastlund—a nicely renovated former Red Lion motor inn with 168 rooms—is the best and brightest of the lot; literally, if you take into consideration the lobby’s modern mid-century design with bold orange, blue, and yellow accents. Rooms are comfortable and the WiFi is speedy, but the property's finest feature is the spacious rooftop restaurant and bar; come happy hour, curl up by the fire pit with a burger and beer from nearby Upright Brewing, and enjoy the panoramic Portland views from the terrace. Nice. What’s the crowd like?Conventioneers, Moda Center basketball fans, and concertgoers, businesspeople, families, and budget-conscious travelers sidestepping steep downtown hotels. Thoughts about the rooms? The 390-square-feet west-facing Junior Downtown Suites are your best bet for a city view (provided a half-built condominium tower isn’t blocking it). Design is clean and modern; comfy king-size beds are backed with lovely modern murals; spacious bathrooms have double sinks and glassed-walled walk-in showers; and the velvety faux fur throw tossed across the foot of the bed is the coziest thing since your well-worn Snuggie. As the surrounding neighborhood grows at a breakneck clip, the early-morning construction coupled with the hotel’s convenient—albeit noisy—positioning (right where the MAX light rail and Portland Streetcar tracks cross) make those ear plugs on the nightstand a necessity. In other words, light sleepers should request the quietest room possible. How's the tech in the hotel?WiFi is free and fast throughout the hotel, and rooms have smart refrigerators and Keurigs (although if you’d rather not make your own, there’s a cute cafe in the lobby). If you drove your Tesla, they’ve got a charging station waiting for you. What are our food and drink options?Longtime Portland chef and restaurateur David Machado’s Altabira City Tavern would have been a hit right out of the gate simply for its breathtaking downtown Portland views from its top-floor perch, rare on this side of the river. But the strong tap selection—16 local craft beers—solid specialty cocktails featuring locally distilled spirits, easygoing menu, laid-back vibes, and fire pits have made it a local destination. In the lobby, Machado’s Citizen Baker cafe starts pouring cups of Ristretto Roasters coffee and slinging Red Flannel hash and fresh-baked almond poppy-seed croissants as early as 6:30 am on weekdays; lunch includes grilled tomato and cheese sandwiches and tuna salad melts on fresh house-baked breads. Come evening, the space morphs into a lovely little late-afternoon wine bar, just the spot to put your feet up with a glass of local Pinot Noir or an IPA from Bend-based Crux Fermentation Project. Anything else we should know?If you’re deliberating about whether to take an Uber or the train from the airport, take the advice of Portland’s Union Station’s iconic neon-lit “Go By Train” sign. The Red Line will drop you right across the street from the hotel in about a half an hour, no transfers necessary. For the return journey, or to ride the light rail or streetcar downtown or south toward the brewery-packed inner southeast industrial district, consult the convenient digital schedule in the lobby." - Jen Stevenson

The room surpassed my expectations! The bed was so comfortable, I bought the same pillow topper. The room was super clean! The front desk and valet staff were awesome! The Happy Hour was also surprisingly good and a great value. I will be back!

Google
The hotel is quite nice and the rooms are comfy and well appointed. However, area around it is a bit sketchy and due to that I didn’t feel safe parking my nice, newer car on the street. Valet parking via the only option. I stayed 24 hours and my room rate was $118+ tax and parking was $43!!! I didn’t get my car out at all. That $43 doesn’t event include a tip for the nice valet!!! I wouldn’t stay here again due to the cost of the parking.

This is a 3-star hotel at best. Location: The area has a significant homeless population in every direction you walk, so be aware of that. One morning, I witnessed an assault at the train station directly across the street from the hotel, my room’s window faced it. Hotel: The front desk will try to charge an “early check-in fee” if you arrive before 2pm I got there at 1pm and had to sit in the lobby and wait until 2pm to avoid the charge. The hotel will NOT honor the late checkout option, regardless of your Expedia status even though it’s listed as a VIP property on the site. As the front desk explained: “Priority goes to hotel loyalty program members, and 30 minutes later than the normal checkout time is the best we can offer, no matter how empty the hotel is.” Given the homelessness issue in the area, the unsafe public transportation nearby and the hotel’s outdated condition, I would consider staying elsewhere.

This hotel is a good choice for my stay when I attended a conference in Portland Convention Center, just opposite of the street. I much appreciate if you press like for this review. The bed was comfortable with soft duvet and mattress. The bathroom was clean and stocked with ample amenities. I really like a corner with a tea table by the large windows overlooking NE Grand Ave. Overall, it was a nice experience during my stay at Hotel Eastlund.

I’d give this place a 10/5 if there were enough buttons. ||Those who follow my Reviews know I have Lifetime Titanium at Marriott and Lifetime Diamond at Hilton and have the Highest (some might say too high) of expectations. They were all Exceeded here. ||This beautiful full service hotel is a Best Western Premier (interestingly enough not branded as such with signage) but didn’t invoke any “motel” vibes. ||A 30 second walk from the MAX Convention Center Station. Only Valet Parking (like most hotels in the area), which is why I use the Tri-Met. ||The lobby is spacious with extra ample and comfortable seating. A coffee shop is availing early in the day off the lobby. Also reportedly a rooftop restaurant which I didn’t visit as I was working double shifts as the hospital. ||The room was immaculately clean. Bathroom with Shower and nice amenities. Window actually opened, which was great for me enjoying the 75 degree days (it was over 100 degrees with thunderstorms here in Palm Springs). ||There is a refrigerator in the room. Lots of “for purchase beverages” there, which I lovingly set aside for my fruit salad, turkey breast and Cottage Cheese). K-Kup Machine and again “for purchase” basket of Sweet and Savory snackers. ||Comfortable Sofa with ottoman. Housekeeping and DND/ Privacy have Push Buttons with light system. ||I’m excited for several more weeks during June and July. ||Think there is more great stuff I’m forgetting. ||Only thing that would have been even better is a microwave.

For those of you not familiar with this hotel, it is a MUST FIND FOR YOU. The staff is second to none, anticipating, meeting and exceeding every conceivable need, want or desire you could have. From Jason in valet to the front desk staff to Kristina in Sales to the GM, Jef Brown, all go above and beyond on each and every stay. The hotel offers every creature comfort that you have at home and then some. Our last stay was for 2+ weeks and things were as comfortable as if we were home. Jeff Brown is the GM and is so approachable and engaging, we asked him to come to dinner with us during our stay. He brought his wife Krystin who added a bright and kind personality to the night! A fabulous woman! We stay here about 4-5 times per yr and like it so much it has become our home away from home. There is no other property nor location nor staff that will treat you better than everyone at the Hotel Eastlund! Do yourself a favor and book your room today!!

This place is so amazing. I have been to many hotels and I have to say Eastlund is the best! Hands down. Me and my boyfriend were treated so well. You can tell the staff cares about you and your stay. The valet parking is an added bonus :) We will defidently be going back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
The location of the hotel was the reason we chose it; close to Moda centre. Pleasant walk to the event there. Staff was very nice and helpful.|The restaurant on the 6th floor was good, with some decent choices. |The room itself was small, but nicely finished. |The sound from the street trains and morning/ late night traffic was more than I expected - have earplugs for that so not a big deal. |Cleanliness was suspect - while the bathroom and shower were spotless — the bed sheets had a couple of hairs in them and the bedskirt had some dirt/stains. It’s not the worst I’ve seen, and I do bring my own sheets for occasions like this when I travel by car. Would I recommend - probably, due to location and price.

Yelp
I stayed here one night for an event at the Moda Center in room 439. The front desk receptionist and valet staff were kind, and the housekeeping staff were always present. I downloaded their app but was confused on how to use it, not necessary. I appreciated the text communication and check ins. Speaking of check in, they were able to let me check in early which was useful as the event started at 3pm. I was a little put off by all the price stickers in the room - if you want to drink their fancy water bottle, it'll cost ya $7. The room itself was spacious, the bed was comfy, and the bathroom was fine. I enjoyed the view out the window. Valet was $43/night which is high but it's onsite - other hotels will charge you that and then park you some place far away. I didn't mind that cost for one day. If I had another reason to come to downtown Portland again, I'd stay here again.

Yelp
Convenient and clean hotel in Portland. Nice view from my window. Fitness center was small but functional. I never had to wait for a treadmill or equipment. They even have a TRX setup. Would stay again.

Yelp
I visited this place last weekend. As soon as I entered the room, I tried to use the mug, but there was a clear lipstick mark on the mug that I didn't even use. I tried to erase the lipstick stain, but it didn't come off well. And there were hairs on the sink. I don't want to visit again.

Yelp
Nice hotel, everything was clean. Only thing I would advise people to be aware of is that it's valet-only parking and they charge you $43 per night to park your car at the hotel. Never stayed somewhere that parking wasn't included, so it seemed kinda strange to me.

Yelp
I did not stay at the Hotel Eastlund but I did eat at the roof top restaurant twice. And I wanted to share pictures of the vibes in their lobby. This is a Best Western Hotel. Enjoy the pictures.

Yelp
My partner and I had a lovely staycation weekend here a couple of years ago and it's been a special place in our relationship memories. This week we found ourselves needing a room mostly during the day due to delayed, loud and toxic construction at our house. My partner called the night before and was told that early check in would be a option after 11am, and she could just come down. So, she packed up and came around 11:30. A belligerent and rude manager absolutely refused to consider to allow her an early check in and took no responsibility for what she had been told previously. My partner is a sweet and passive person and would not have done anything to justify the gross behavior. Sucks that a place that was special to us is now marred with a bad experience.

Yelp
Staying at this hotel in Portland was a great decision! It's a affordable yet chic property and they have comfortable beds. The rooms are a good size and we did not hear any neighbors. Bathroom is decent and they have enough basic amenities to satisfy my needs. Valet parking overnight is $36 with in and out privileges. The max light rail is right outside of the hotel.

Yelp
Our 5 day stay was amazing from start to finish! Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful, our room was cleaned daily and it was a nice room! We also checked out their rooftop bar, which was also very scenic and had a great vibe

Yelp
SERVICE & CHECKIN Favorable checkin experience by professional and efficient staff. This hotel has a lot of features which they cover in impressive detail. Free early checkin with a generous 12pm checkout. ROOM https://youtube.com/shorts/OkhooRB9MVg An odd selection of furnishings with a lot going on, like a yard sale. It's not as strong on design as the building's common areas. Lighting was also dim but the floor-to-ceiling windows pick up the slack. The storage space is another redeeming quality if you're here for an extended stay. But functionally it just wasn't my favorite...: Wobbly tables, noisy chairs with oversized bases, a thin work space area, & a partially functional curtain setup. A real hodgepodge of a design. BED Solid "A" Their Posturepedic mattress provided excellent back support. Sheets were incredibly smooth with a comfortable & breathable 60/40 blend. Topped off with a cozy duvet. Pillows were ok. Although they were soft & fluffy, they were short on loft. The size didn't match the mattress and the fill (duck down) was insufficient. Overall really strong; just needs better/more pillows. BATH Small bathroom space with sliding door setup. For shower experience: it's the dreaded half-barrier glass walk-in, although It's not as bad as Hotel Vance *shudders* . We enjoyed the water pressure & Papaya bath products they provide. I'm especially grateful for the functional windows because ventilation was poor. Towels are on the smaller side but they provide a great bathrobe; a soft cotton-polyester blend with awesome textures. Standard toiletries & appliances. TV & ENTERTAINMENT ~40" Samsung Full HD TV w/basic programming + streaming integrations & select apps. The mirroring apps didn't work (like most places). Limited AV options with the style of mount installed. Not chrome cast/google TV friendly. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION Various dead zones in the room, luckily their WiFi offering is top tier albeit unencrypted. Prepare a throwaway email address for the registration. --Performance-- Video streaming - GREAT Online gaming - GREAT Video chatting - GREAT --Nerd Stats-- 180-240 Mbps download 87-102 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 8 ms latency 1 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK Contactless DoorDash delivery isn't supported. Onsite restaurant serves breakfast/lunch (7am-2pm) & room service 11am-11pm QR code link didn't work so we passed on trying to figure out the menu FWIW the mini bar experience was amazing. A variety of snacks + a premium selection of spirits, ales, & wine! In-room water was horrendously overpriced but free water can be found in the fitness center. Ice bins on-floor provide conveniently pre-packaged bags. NOISE Big "no" on sound proofing & the light rail is soo~ noisy. It runs consistently throughout the day (kudos to the city). Try to reserve a room as far as possible from this side of the street. LOCATION Grocers, restaurants, & public transit conveniently accessible. Felt safe enough during the daytime. VERDICT The value is good & it's a great spot for people watching but too noisy for comfort. One of the weaker BW's despite the premier label. I wouldn't stay here again nor go out of my way to recommend it. 3.5/5

Yelp
Stayed here last night for the fourth of July with my husband and baby! The room was very clean with a great view!!!the front desk staff were friendly and helped us with the event they were having upstairs for the fourth of July! Overall we enjoyed our stay

Yelp
The staff here-- front desk, valet, and house keeping-- are AMAZING!! Professional, friendly, welcoming. The rooms are modern, tidy, comfortable. Safe and secure valet parking, at a price. The location on the light rail line is convenient but a little bit noisy. Earplugs are provided. Overall a good value and nice quality hotel.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I love staying at Hotel Eastlund whenever there is an event at the Oregon Convention Center. It has a small boutique hotel vibe and the staff is THE BEST. It doesn't matter who I speak to - from the valet, to the front desk, to the restaurant staff, to housekeeping - everyone is so kind. I love that they also text you shortly after you get to your room to see if you need anything. There is complimentary tea and coffee in the room with ceramic mugs and a keurig machine, and the size of the room is perfect in my opinion. We have had the king size room every time that we're there and there's a little seating area with comfy leather chairs and a table. The bed is so comfortable and I always fall asleep instantly. The bathroom is very bright and modern with its shower with glass divider, and the lighting is great! I have been to other places where the bathroom is so dark and it's hard to get ready, but this was perfect. They have valet parking for $36 overnight with in and out privileges, and there's a nice texting feature that allows you to request your car. They also let us load our car up on the morning of checkout, but continue to leave it there since we were spending some time at the convention. Special shout-out to Diana who always responded to my text messages within seconds when I had a question! We will always choose to stay at Hotel Eastlund whenever we are in the Lloyd district area!

Yelp
I really can't say enough great things about Hotel Eastlund. I booked it for a work trip and was excited to check it out after seeing such great reviews on Yelp. The Eastlund did not disappoint. Technically it's a Best Western property (part of their more upscale series) but it had that small, boutique hotel feel. The public areas, elevators, and rooms were clean. The place felt very safe. Everything was quiet. And if I can just say: their staff was absolutely the friendliest I have ever experienced at a hotel. From the valets greeting us with a smile (even in frigid temps) to the amazing front desk staff to the housekeepers to the restaurant staff...it reminded me of being on a cruise ship. I found myself WANTING to find reasons to come to Portland again just so I can stay here! They do have required valet parking, with a $36/night fee which is standard (actually even a little low) for the area. I didn't notice any nearby street parking or private lots but there may be cheaper options. Public transportation was nearby. Definitely try out their rooftop tavern, the Metropolitan! And there's a Denny's across the street so you can avoid on-site Citizen Baker, which could not possibly be associated directly with this hotel as my experience there (see recent review) was completely different than the amazingness experienced throughout the rest of the property.

Yelp
Stayed over the long MLK weekend and overall a good stay. I couldn't sleep due to the outside noises so I won't be back. However still some good perks. Pro: + location - 7 mins walk from Moda Center (Go Trailblazer) + friendly staff + comfy bed + access to bakery/cafe and rooftop bar +ihome (charge your iPhone and play music) Con: + could hear the public transit running all night (at least I didn't hear my next door neighbors - guess that's another pro) Pretty affordable too.

Yelp
Hotel Eastlund became our hub during my recent trip to Portland. Located across from the Convention Center and the Red Line MAX station, it was the perfect, convenient stop getting to/from PDX and downtown. We stayed in a King Size room for three nights and it was a comfortable stay. Bed was firm yet soft, there was a little office area with extra space for plugs, and robes were provided. We enjoyed the more modern aesthetics of the rooms and felt we were getting our moneys worth. Some other highlights of our stay: - I loved the texting feature that allows you to message guest services if you had any questions or need anything, 24/7 - Room was clean and well air-conditioned during our stay - Staff were very friendly Parts that could've been better: - The shower was a bit weird. There was no tub and the shower door was locked in place with a hole near the center for some reason. Shower head water pressure wasn't the greatest but because of this, it never really made a splash onto the floor. - There weren't a lot of easily accessible outlets on both nightstands, so we ended up unplugging their alarm in order to make space for a phone charger. Getting in and out was alright. You have to climb a set of stairs or take a ramp leading into the valet parking lot if you have accessibility needs. It was a bit confusing at first, but you eventually find your way up to the main entrance. Overall, Eastlund was a really nice budget hotel to stay in while exploring the city. I wouldn't mind staying here again in the future.

Yelp
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Upon entrance, we were greeted by the valet attendant who was very kind and helpful, checking in was easy and the front desk staff were great. The lobby is very well appointed with a mid-century modern/pop vibe. Very clean all throughout. The room was cozy with possibly the best minibar selection I've ever seen. I got the best night's sleep in the bed. The hotel is in a good location with easy access to downtown Portland. There is a breakfast bar with bottomless mimosas and a rooftop restaurant on site. Upon checking out, we expressed how much we enjoyed our stay and were told to call before coming back in the future and they would see what they could do to upgrade us next time. Lovely place, friendly staff, good amenities, luxury feel, all at half the price I would spend in many other cities. Highly recommend!

Michael G.

Yelp
The desk staff was very accommodating, friendly and welcoming. We had our power off for a few days and found a great rate at the Eastlund. The room was clean, comfortable and had a great vanity/bath area. We didn't need to leave the property to get a warm meal. The in house restaurant has quality food and is open late with a full bar/patio overlooking the west side. Appreciate the professionalism and hospitality from the staff. You all deserve a big raise. Will return and recommend to friends.

Yelp
We had a room for July 13, 2024 at the Hotel Eastlund in Portland, Oregon. Saturday was very hot. We returned to our room at around 11:30 pm and the air conditioning was not working. Our room was 80 degrees or more. I called the front desk. The gentleman at the front desk was dismissive and rude. He told me there was nothing he could do but suggested that I "open a window." It was as warm outside as it was in our room. The solution of "opening a window" was not helpful at all. By this time it was nearly midnight. The next morning, I contacted the manager, Ivan Kitchen, and told him of our issue, requesting reimbursement for our very uncomfortable stay. His response was that he would not refund our stay because the room was "occupied and the HVAC appeared to be working the next morning". The logic of that statement escaped me completely. Regardless of the HVAC working the next morning, it was NOT working the previous day and night. If any staff had bothered to come to our room to check on us, they would have been able to verify that information. In a follow up email from Mr. Kitchen,he tried to blame his front desk employee's rudeness on that employee's stutter. I informed him that the employee never stuttered when he informed me that he was unable to do anything about our air conditioning and to "open a window". I was then able to reach the General Manager, Matt Slack, and he was also unwilling to compensate me, citing an "eco friendly" feature on the AC unit (something that was not posted in the room or communicated to us in any way) that shut off after there was no movement in the room for 2 hours. I was willing to accept a refund of our stay. However, Mr. Kitchen's and Mr. Slack's persistent refusals to correct the situation, and their illogical excuses have made this experience the worst I've ever had at any hotel. Their issue seems to *really* be that I left bad reviews for their hotel and thus it does not benefit them to refund me. Buyer beware.

Yelp
Great Attention To Details with the exception of 1, but I'll get to that shortly. Ivan greeted us at checkin, he was polite and prompt. Checkin was a breeze. Valet was $35 nightly but I didn't hesitate paying because I didn't feel comfortable walking at night with how far away street parking was. And it was always quick and easy to grab my car. On to my room...I'm a lover of decor and this place had such great decor vibes. Nice drapes, linens, and such. My favorite details were in the bathroom. The mirror had a cool non steam feature and the shower door had a perfect cutout to turn on the water. That was my favorite. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because my room wasn't the cleanest. It wasn't dirty but the things that weren't clean were things I feel like wouldn't have been clean if I asked for a room change. Hair not properly cleaned from the showers and floors. Other than that, it was a nice stay and a place I'd stay again. Pro Tip: DO NOT ORDER the pizza from the restaurant upstairs. It was quite awful.

Yelp
Love this hotel and such a good location when I need somewhere to stay for work. This time I tried the Metropolitan Restaurant and I'm glad I did, it was good and I will come again to the restaurant after work some days when I'm not staying at the hotel. Staff and valet are fabulous.

Yelp
After a three-week stay at Ritz Carlton locations in Osaka, Tokyo, and Kyoto, my recent experience with the EASTLUND HOTEL has left much to be desired. Despite my preference for modern style, the service I received was nothing short of a disaster. Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was dropped off on the street and left to navigate daunting stairs with two large Briggs & Riley bags. Despite the presence of staff, including Ivan and James, I received no assistance or even a simple greeting. When I inquired about the lack of help, Ivan explained that the doorman was not trained to assist guests arriving on foot, a feeble excuse that fell short of my expectations. To add insult to injury, my room keys did not work and had to be reprogrammed. This level of incompetence is unacceptable, especially considering my own experience in the hospitality industry running hotels in Spain. Disappointed by the lackluster service, I have decided not to stay at this hotel again. Is there a another hotel similar to my beloved Ritz Carlton in Portland where I can expect better service?

Yelp
We booked the Hotel Eastlund for a long weekend, and we're impressed with the overall experience of our stay. Julia at the front desk was very friendly and professional through out. Traveling with a baby is... taxing to say the least, and they made it a breeze. Valet helped to make the trips in and out quick and easy, and the text message system for pulling your car just makes sense. The bar was delicious for a late night snack of sliders and fries, and more than everything, the rooms were ... quiet! We were close to an elevator, but from in our room, we could be in a single family home. We did not hear anyone else even once. The rooms were well appointed, and comfortable to hang out in. Being new to Portland, the part of town was funky, but it felt safe and clean. Thank you!

Yelp
Another review by BAM. Hotel Eastlund. A must stay while in Portland/ Rip City... Valet parking. Great food and fare on floor 6, Met Grill. Appez menu is the best! Sweeping city views from the north eastside of Portland facing the west side. Get out there at 9:00 PM on a clear night and you may be met with the gas firepits going. Chill vibe throughout the entire hotel. Front desk, valet and did I mention the little gem of a breakfast spot on the lobby floor? Cafe Eastlund...located on the lobby floor, only open in the mornings. Reviewed 2 days ago via mobile Croissants & Funky Fruit! A must visit! Beautiful baked goods with beautiful service. Natasha & Chloe are the dream team that can hustle and flow with the best of them, but I loved just talking with them. These sista's are the reason I loved sitting at the big tables in the morning with my laptop and a cup of Stumptown. The manager and his team keep the place running like a smooth oiled machine. The baked goods are proofed the night before and baked fresh everyday! Ask Chloe or Natasha, to warm up a buttery croissant or one of their freshly baked cinnamon rolls with hand-piped, cream frosting. Try the Chia fruit bowl. Wow. It's made with coconut milk, chia seeds, mango purée and sprinkled with fresh cut fruit. It's sooooooooooooo good. Roll up to Hotel Eastlund and have valet parking while you dine. Tell them Carl from Seattle says hi! "You Are Loved!" Can you tell, I'm a fan? https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g52024-d8424242-r843452405-Citizen_Baker-Portland_Oregon.html#

Yelp
Great Hotel for the Money! I stayed last night in a place that claimed it was a 4 star hotel, not even close. This place is only 3 stars but should be a 4 star. Spacious room with a very comfortable bed. Great amenities with a stocked mini bar and snacks. The bathroom is stocked with all the things you need. Everything in the room seems like it's for sale. The gym facility was clean and they have a really cool roof top restaurant and bar. They upgraded me to a larger room with a better view. So far this place is awesome.

Yelp
This hotel was not a good experience. I was in the words of whom I take to be a manager at the hotel in the "best room in the house". The bad experience started before check-in. I was emailed demanding I check in online. The form to do so was clunky and poorly designed. Providing a credit card, photo ID, and various other info wasn't made easy. When I arrived at the hotel I expected to breeze by the front desk after picking up the key. Instead I and my wife stood and waited while a rude young lady type at length into her computer. She stopped in her task to engage with a coworker and a guest he was helping. I waited and waited until she began to lecture me about all the services the hotel did not provide, such as housekeeping. Overall it took about twice as long as a normal hotel checkin. My wife asked some questions about hotel services and was met with unrestrained hostility from this young woman. The room itself was superficially nice. But the finishes were cheap. What looked like chrome fixtures in the bathroom were actually plastic with a fake chrome finish. Something that made them malfunction. The HVAC seemed to have a mind of its own. Every request to the front desk, only accessible via text resulted in excuses and explanations of how we should not expect whatever thing we were requesting. The room overlooks the streetcar line and no efforts were taken to insulate it from noise. Streetcars traveling the track at 4:30 in the morning can clearly be heard. Thought there were three restaurants in the hotel, getting food or drink in any of them was a challenge. The hotel made it clear in no uncertain terms that they weren't responsible for the restaurants and definitely did NOT want to receive feedback about them or plan to offer help addressing difficulties that arose. Do NOT choose this hotel because of all the dining options. You'll be disappointed and the hotel wants everyone to know they have nothing to do with the restaurants. There is nothing complimentary in the hotel and you'll find your room packed with high priced water etc. In check out, the aforementioned manager inquired about my stay in the nicest room and was eager to get details. Unfortunately it was too late to address the problems. If someone had paid attention to the issues I raised while staying at the hotel, they could have been addressed. Instead complaints resulted in responses that made clear feedback was unwelcome. I feel like this institution was run more like a prison that a hospitality business. Each of these issues was addressed directly to Ivan Kitchen, Manager while they were happening and he assured me that he would do nothing to address them.

Yelp
Accidentally booked this hotel while I was trying to book another one & ifs the best mistake I've made! So much attention to detail. They provide you with ear plugs, phone chargers for every type of phone, outlets everywhere, many lighting options, bunch of shampoo & conditioner, lots of towels, modern smart tv, bunch of snacks & fridge filled with champagne, cozy throw blanket.. tbh I can go on and on I notice every little thing because I stay at many hotels Would recommend 10/10 Great job!

Yelp
We spent New Years Eve here and it was wonderful. Very clean and very comfortable bed. Soft towels. The location is great and we were fortunate to get a beautiful view of the city lights.

Yelp
overall a nice 4 star hotel, we enjoyed our time there. rooms are sealed after cleaning, sheets are clean(we brought out UV light), ice is provided in bags, which is very sanitize. Our room has a nice view of the city as well. I'm hotels.com silver member and they gave us free parking as perks. Would stay again if price is right. Only problem I had was their refrigerators, it is a "smart refrigerator", which is not turn on by default like other refrigerator in other hotels. In the end all of our food went bad overnight. So you've been warned.

Yelp
I was hesitant to stay here as the ratings online showed 3 stars... however this was certainly much better than 3 stars. The location is right across from the convention center and near a few different fast food restaurants. The staff was friendly and welcoming the entire time! I do wish the front desk had suggested we schedule reservations for the rooftop restaurant as it was busy a couple nights and the wait time was higher than 30 min. We learned and scheduled a reservation for our last night there and enjoyed their tasty drinks and food although a bit overpriced for the quality.

Yelp
I found my new "main stay" in Portland! My husband and I like to travel to PDX for the beer scene on 3-day (holiday) weekends. Since we had to forgo our last Memorial Day trip, we re-booked for 2021. Our friends who were supposed to go with us last year also joined us. First impression, amazing. The lobby is gorgeous! It's an instagrammers dream canvas! Perfect backdrop for great photos! The hotel is exactly how it's represented in the photos online. No "Instagram vs reality" here! Reality is reality and this hotel is beautiful! The staff was so pleasant and friendly! They were all so welcoming when we arrived. To our surprise, we got our room keys when we arrived (12pm!) Early check in is a major bonus, especially when you're coming from out of town and want to freshen up and unpack before you head out to see the city! When you check in, they send you a text. The text is to be used throughout your stay, if you should need anything! Wow, talk about modern convenience! We all got our keys and headed to our rooms. The rooms are small but so nice. Fresh and modern! Our room had a mini fridge, coffee maker, safe & even robes! The lighting in the elevator area makes for the perfect mirror selfie, in case you appreciate that sort of thing! The rooftop bar opened up the day before we arrived. I was excited about that because the weather was supposed to be (and was!) sunny and warm all weekend! They're working out the kinks, since it's so new - but during our visit they just had a small menu (sandwiches & salads) and of course beer, wine, booze. They are planning on renting the space out to a restaurant in the future, so this set up is temporary. The nice man that was running it was so accommodating and awesome! We had a great time enjoying the beautiful sunset and relaxing after a long day of beer tours! This hotel is amazing. Stay here! You won't be sorry!

Yelp
Stayed here for one night when I was visiting Portland and I had a pretty good stay. Arrived here pretty early (before noon) and valeted my car so I could check in. However, my room was not ready, which is fair since their listed check-in time is not until 4:00 pm. I left them with my phone number so they could text me once my room was ready and left my bags at the front desk as well. Valet parking will cost you $30. I've never been a fan of valet parking and I was definitely not a fan of having to pay for something I don't like. But it looked like that was my only choice for parking here. There was no self-park parking available. During this time, I asked the front desk staff about things to do in Portland. However, I didn't really get much of an answer from them. One of the valet staff, however, was super helpful with this. She actually wrote down a list of things I could so (sightseeing) and some restaurants I could try. I can't remember her name, but I don't suppose there's a whole lot of women on the valet staff? Kudos to her. While I was out driving around and trekking a couple of the national park destinations recommended to me, I received a text telling me that my room was ready. It was around 1:50 pm. I was glad that I was able to get 'early' check in. However, I've been spoiled by Marriott where I could usually check in around 10:00 am on the day of my reservation so this didn't really impress me. Plus, I wasn't at the hotel anyway. Once I finally got to my room, I was happy with the room size, the cleanliness, and the comfortable bed. The feel of the room is modern, which is also displayed in the bedroom and the bathroom. I was, however, not a fan of their shower area since it had no door. There's a hole on the shower glass wall for you to reach in and turn the water on and off. However, this same wall, will cause water to leak out while you're taking a shower causing the floor to get flooded a little bit. The wall opening for where you step into the shower will also cause the bathroom floor to get flooded UNLESS you don't splash water around as you're showering. Hotel Eastlund provides you with all the typical amenities you can expect from a hotel in their room: WiFi, minibar, robe, ironing board and iron, etc. To my surprise, the prices of alcoholic beverages they have inside the mini bar were very reasonable and not your typical hotel prices. Although I didn't partake, it's still nice to know that you didn't need to step out of your hotel room to try and avoid paying typical hotel prices. All in all, I had a very nice stay here at Hotel Eastlund. And although their downtown location is not the prime downtown location (which is on the other side of the river), it's still within close proximity and you don't have to pay the additional premium that would be charged at the prime downtown location. I wouldn't mind coming back and staying here at Hotel Eastlund again if my first-choice hotel (Marriott Hotels) is charging a lot more like it did during this trip.

Yelp
Sunday May 3, 2022. I stayed from Sunday, Monday and checked out on Tuesday. There are not a lot of things to do near the hotel. I give it 4 stars because the staff were friendly and helpful. There are several restaurants and coffee shops near the hotel I would really recommend. Please do not hang out at night, it is really scary and sketchy.

Yelp
Located right near the Convention Center, the Eastlund is central to Portland. Right next to the metro, downtown and the Pearl is a short ride away. Burnside and it's many destinations are a short walk away. However the hotel is pretty special in its own right - great breakfast (I am still thinking about the avacado toast, so good); an in house restaurant that has a decent reputation, and great furnishing in the guest rooms. The front desk was very helpful in guiding me to happenings on a Sunday night. This is a good hotel.

Yelp
I paid for the highest package to get a low class room. It states when booking that the basic king is level 2 and 3 and the next package up has a "skyline view" Yet, My room shows the ugly parking garage and the hotel across the street... which mins you Is 100 cheaper per night and has a way better view.. I tried to get help from the front desk and he was awfully rude to me and told me I was wrong and cold shouldered me. Even worse, There was tape sealed to the door saying it was clean but the bathroom floor was filthy there was Hair on the bathroom walls. The floor wasn't even vacuumed.. Etc. Would 100% not book here. It was all around awful and even customer service doesn't help. I am shocked this has such great reviews. It's awful.

Yelp
Don't come here. Horrible rude customer service with obnoxious waiters. Food overpriced and not even tasty.

Yelp
Everyone who works here deserves praise . All of our needs were met promptly and the staff were always happy to assist. One of the best stays I've ever had at a hotel . The rooftop bar is a great place to go for food/drinks and enjoy the beautiful view either indoors or outdoors by a fire pit.

Yelp
Style and vibe is great. Lots of integrated tech but major misses on the basics. Phone not working, Roomservice "kinda" if you can find and scan QR code, then call front desk when it no longer works, then download the app of the restaurant on prem_ --it's separate company--and struggle your way through when items don't match menu AND pay on app AND be willing to still eat it when they get the order very wrong. And don't call restaurant that only irritates them. They want 0 human contact. Front desk was empathetic to the nightmare but couldn't help. Oh, and you'll sleep to the sounds of the light rail arrival chime... all night long. Valet app worked great and all valet team was great! Summary: don't stay if you hustle all day and simply want food and sleep when you get to the hotel

Yelp
Natasha & Kore at the cafe was so kind to us! Gonna come back to boozy coffees every weekend morning !

Yelp
1. $36 overnight parking, Valet only. They send you a text message which says "click here to get tour car" there is no button to get car. 2. Phone in the room only worked once, when I told the person down stairs he said "you didn't charge it" HENCE the phone say in the dock the whole time. 3. I logged into the "Eastlund guest Wi-Fi" minutes later I get a bunch of warnings that the Wi-Fi is not secure. 10 minutes later, I get a 2 factor notification from Facebook. Looking in the app, it showed me someone trying to go in from a town close to us. 4. This am when I call for the car, person wanted a "code" which I didn't use yesterday when calling for car. Overall overpriced, staff is unfriendly and not helpful. Would highly NOT recommend it. When talking to staff somehow all of the above is my fault, horrible service. PRO tip: do not book from Hoteltonight.com. You can only get a king size bed, so I ended up paying $140 + $30 for a double bed (I have a kid) and $36 for parking.

Yelp
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The layout is beautiful. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant and bar are fantastic. Great food!! The only thing that I didn't like was that the shower didn't have a closing door, so the water ended up all in the bathroom.

Yelp
My husband and I road-tripped it to Portland a couple weeks ago. We booked Hotel Eastlund the week prior. Prices were average. We booked a Jr. Suite (Room 329) for about $200/night. Upon entry, our temperatures were taken. I was impressed at how beautifully decorated the lobby was in a contemporary modern design. There were large tables with chairs and plenty of comfy seating. Normally we would not utilize the lobby seating area but due to COVID, and with many restaurants offering take out only, we found ourselves dining on the large lobby tables several times. I noticed the lobby was always clean and that there was always two individuals working the lobby area. I imagine that they would immediately sanitize areas which were utilized immediately after their guests would depart the lobby. Our room (Room 329) was decently sized. The bathroom area was HUGE. It included a double sink vanity, an enclosed toilet, a LARGE double headed shower and a soaking tub. I was overjoyed about the tub. It is larger than a standard tub so I was able to relax and take a nice bubble bath everyday. The room also offered bathrobes and slippers (which we only saw on the morning of checkout). A smart fridge was also available in our room. It was roomy enough for all of our take-out leftovers and all my skincare products. Customer service was amazing. Totally accessible and accommodating. Upon check-in, we received a text from the front desk checking in on us. Every morning, they would send us a text to make sure we had everything we needed. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I really wanted to give them five stars or at least four and half stars... The only issues I had were with cleanliness. There was a nice comfy looking chaise lounge by a huge window with a city view. I would have loved to lounge on it but there was a huge whitish stain on it. Completely questionable looking stain so I wasn't comfortable sitting there. Also, there was a brown stain on one of our pillows. The hotel also offered a multitude of device plugs which I thought was so convenient. However, none of them worked. I did bring up the issue of the chaise lounge to the staff and they offered to move us into another room. But we declined as it was such a minor issue. They also sent us more pillows to replace the brown stained one. Overall, loved my stay at this hotel. This was probably one of the most relaxing hotel experiences I have ever had. The hotel was quiet and we didn't hear a single slamming hotel door on any of the mornings. Could be due to COVID... who knows... Either way, I was a happy camper and enjoyed my experience. Location: Centrally located. About 10 minutes from the heart of DT. Next to the Portland Convention Center. Parking: Self-park, offers two floors of parking. $15/night COVID Safety: Upon arrival, they take your temperature. Hotel restaurants are closed. Not sure about the pool or if they even have one? Fitness center was open. Plentiful hand sanitizer available. They even offered tiny bottles of HS and packaged sanitizer wipes. Only two people could enter their small elevators. If they were not from the same family, they had circled on the floor where the different parties needed to stand. No hotel staff was to enter a room once it was occupied. Hence, no room cleaning was available. If there as something wrong with your room, instead, they would offer to move you to a different room. If you request more towels, etc., it would be delivered and left outside your room.

Yelp
I am not really a big fan of hotels in the city due to horrible parking garages or on street parking so the valet was convenient. Two restaurants to choose from and the drinks were strong and phenomenal! In my opinion, very inexpensive as well for such a well rounded hotel. Wonderful staff, tbh very clean atmosphere minus a few random hairs here and there upon looking around my room(in between the sheets, on my pillow, the shower, the bathroom floor, and randomly on the desk...makes me wonder. . . .kinda noisy, which explains the complimentary ear plugs lol Either way if I am ever in the area again I wouldn't mind staying here.

Yelp
We chose this hotel based on the great reviews and it exceeded expectations. Not only is the staff all very helpful and friendly, but the location was safe, close to transit. The rooms were clean, extra comfy beds, bedding and pillows. Would def stay here again.

Yelp
LMAO. This place is a joke. Nice lobby, nice room, on the smaller side, checked in on a Monday night for a couples get away while we travel. Had some music playing while we did face masks, got one single noise complaint from the desk via phone call, told them okay we'll keep it down, turned the music off immediately and went to sleep. Called this morning on the hotel phone to extend our stay, got told "youve had too many noise complaints we can't extend your stay", room phone hangs up (as it has been since we arrived) I call on my cell, it's the manager Me: I'm a bit confused, we got one noise complaint via your phone that doesn't work, and went to sleep. What do you mean excessive noise complaints? Her: we had someone go to your room to tell you to keep it down and then also called 4 or 5 times False. We got one phone call. Someone came upstairs to help me set up the wifi on my phone, which I requested for them to do.... We got one phone call for a noise complaint and immediately turned in. Whatever notes you have on you computer are not correct, didn't even ask us about it. Said they can switch our room if we'd like to stay and must present ID at the front. 1) it's the same ID I presented last night, nothings changed about that. No way it could have. 2) unless you have fuckin Oprah Winfrey staying next door to us, this is not reasonable lmao we're paying to stay, so unless they're also paying for our room whether we are in it or not for the silence, I don't see this as reasonable. I said we'd keep the music off if that's what the issue is, but we'll take our business elsewhere. Stay here if you want to sit in a box of silence for the night. Also, they provide ear plugs for your stay. Noise issue Must be known and anticipated and also the plugs apparently dont work LMAOOOOOO Have thicker walls if any damn sound is your issue, not your guests. The 2 stars are for the bar tenders upstairs. Made us incredible drinks and were a hoot to chat with.
