The location is excellent. It sits in the middle of an adorable little square, and it's right in the heart of La Marais, so very close to a lot of fantastic bars, restaurants, shops and boulangeries. The bar / restaurant attached to the hotel, which is actually across the street from the building with the rooms, is really nice. The price per night is a little over what I would expect to pay for a 3-Star hotel, so I think the location is ultimately what you're paying for.
The rooms are comfortable and quirky, with interesting and artistic decor, but the amenities are pretty basic and the building itself feels a little tired, scuffed, and in need of a bit more TLC. We paid for what was described as a Superior Double Room; but it was still quite small, but to be honest I think that is fairly standard for Paris, especially in traditional buildings like the one this hotel is in. The superior rooms have a view of the square, which was lovely.
However, there was single bed mattress and metal frame left at the top of the first floor stairs for the entire time we were there, propped up against the wall, which given how small the hallways are in the building, we had to squeeze past it. This felt messy and created a vibe that felt like we were in a halfway house or somewhere sketchy.
