Hotel El Ganzo

Thank you El Ganzo hotel for your amazing hospitality and care when we came to San Jose Del Cabo for my daughter's wedding. We had a group of 60 people and you took great care of our family and friends and for that I am so grateful! The customer service was prompt, reliable, and always friendly. From room service, to housekeeping, to concierge, to dining options, to swimming, to check-in and check-out, to the spa and gym, to gathering places for our group, to quiet peaceful places to sit and relax, - Hotel El Ganzo exceeded my expectations! The art was stunning throughout the hotel and the music set the vibe throughout our days. I would LOVE to come back again to this beautiful area and I would definitely make Hotel El Ganzo my home base again.

Had such a lovely stay here at Hotel El Ganzo. Everything was clean and very well decorated. The hotel is very artistic and beautiful. You’re able to take the boat over to the beach across the bay channel and enjoy their beach club. You’re also able to stay at the hotel and swim at the rooftop pool. Great food at the hotel and nearby as well ◡̈

We loved our experience at the singular Hotel Ganzo! The atmosphere is whimsical and smart; the design is eclectic and modern. Our room was pared down and immaculate. We felt our experience to be remarkably personal - the hotel overall felt calm, quiet, relaxing. The service and staff was utterly on point, one-step-ahead-of-us, yet chill. We wanted for nothing and felt fulfilled and then some by the amenities offered. The location is unique and we wanted for nothing. For all this, the price of our stay was insanely accessible - an amazing value! We will be returning as soon as we can!

Me and my new fiancé had a wonderful stay, too short if you ask me. We are had already spent the past week traveling around and last few days in Mexico here in this lovely hotel. We had great service literally throughout the hotel, amazing pool, breakfast and views! We had a mishap on our last night where our car got towed we learned late at night..we were able to navigate and sort most our mess the following day but the service we got from Victor was beyond hospitable. We also had a very thoughtful caring Erica that’d just made the stay remarkable too. Me and Ryan really appreciate the generosity and care they took. For the folks that say it’s soooo over-priced yadada, did you not know what you booked? Know your price range and stay in it, there’s plenty you can book seriously. We splurged on a few days here yes, and every cent was worth it for a kids free, luxury, hospitable hotel - we come back in a heart beat. We love Hotel Gonzo..also we got engaged on the balcony soon I’m a little partial. 💗

The hotel is great. Photos do not do it justice. Location is quiet but hotel has the coolest hang out areas including rooftop pool , quieter second pool, and fire pits throughout. Super chill vibes with great original art. The boat tender to the included private beach club in awesome. The one small negative is service may be slow for some but I’m from NY and patience is not my strong suit. So definitely come and stay. Will not be disappointed!

Cannot recommend staying at Hotel El Ganzo enough! It's close to all the Centro/farm restaurants but provides swimmable beach access and the most beautiful rooftop sunset views over the marina and mountains. It's also walking distance to a few coffee shops and restaurants and offers free parking. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they go out of their way to make it a good stay. We loved the live music and will definitely keep an eye on their events calendar for another trip!

Absolutely loved this Hotel. Rooms, dining, lobby, and pool. The view was amazing and with all the sea life present on the daily… never a bad show. Sea lions, pelicans and the whales all showed off. It did not disappoint. If you’re looking for great service, you will find it. A young lady whose name is Montserrat, she works at the pool. The most attentive, professional warm hearted young lady there. If I were to give 10 out of 10 stars, she gets 20. Highly recommend this Hotel and make sure you give Montserret a hug or a high five for being awesome and amazing.

Love this place so much. If you are looking for shopping or big nightlife it’s not your spot. But if you are looking for a boutique hotel with amazing service and all the nicest amenities tucked away from the tourist areas, this is your place. I come here at least once a year for a week to revive my soul. |All of the staff attends to every detail. Checking in is a delight. The rooftop pool has a great vibe, good food, drinks and fabulous service. |The beach club is equally as wonderful.|Saltycabo offers different boating options right from the marina.|Not the least expensive place in Cabo, but definitely worth the price.

Hotel el Ganzo is decorated with unique art throughout the property. It is beautifully serene and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is only a 7 minute ride from the plaza. The beach club is just a short boat ride away. Would recommend if you are looking for a calm, beautiful property. Remember to budget in for food if you plan on eating at the hotel. The food and drinks can add up quickly.

I'm a bit torn. I have mixed feelings on this hotel because some things were great and others were not, hence the three star review. I'll just do a pro and con list. Pro: Great pool, great views, beach is beautiful, building is nice. In the middle: The service was decent. Not five star but still good. Antonio is a great waiter. The food was ok. Not bad but not amazing. The food is way over priced! Con: This was not the hotels fault but I won't stay here again nonetheless for this reason... the people next to me blasted music at 1am so loudly the bass made the walls shake. The front desk took care of it but I lost sleep. The loud music continued on from the room next door the following day and night. They were loud on the balcony too all night. Front desk had to take care of it the following night as well. It draws a tech bro douche crowd. Not being able to sleep due to loud noise/music is a deal breaker for me. More of a guest problem than a hotel problem but the crowd it attracts... Oh, the fitness center is worse than some holiday inns I've been to. I had to find a real gym in town to use. To use the jacuzzi and sauna it's 50 dollars. The food is outrageously expensive along with everything else here. To me this place was ok but not worth the cost. Hawaii prices but with a hotel that is more a four star instead of a five star. I wasn't disappointed per se but wasn't impressed either. Maybe if it didn't cost 400 a night to stay here, 40 bucks for breakfast, and 100 for dinner... but the hotel doesn't justify the cost. The four seasons in Maui was the same price and that will blow you away! This did not. The hotel manager, to offer me something for the inconvenience of not being able to sleep for two nights, said I could use the Jacuzzi and sauna. I thought, well I only stayed here three nights and for two nights I couldn't even sleep and that's it? I can use the Jacuzzi and sauna something that should be complementary anyway in my opinion. Especially when you are paying $400 a night. This hotel was a rip off. Then again, everything in Cabo is over priced, not just the El Ganzo.

We had planned to stay at the Hotel El Ganzo next week for a wedding. We received an unexplained cancellation from the hotel only one week in advance. At this point, we are unable to find other accommodations at a similar price point and are cancelling our trip. At a minimum, I would have thought that the hotel would have offered to find other similar accommodations or cover incremental costs for staying elsewhere.

Beautiful hotel on the marina in San Jose del Cabo. We had a nice but very expensive breakfast enjoying the view of the marina and all the fancy yachts. Service was lovely and we will probably be back to.enjoy a cocktail or coffee but a little to rich for my pocketbook.

El Ganzo has exceeded our expectations. It's such a Beautiful and Unique hotel in such a quaint area of Cabo. Every step you take inside the hotel, there's artwork made by local artists. Every day there was a lady who knocked on the door and delivered a freshly baked goody that came in a fancy glass. They were all so beautiful and delicious. We were so impressed by all the small details. My fiancé and I will be getting married here this Summer and we have absolutely ZERO regrets about our decision. It was our first time visiting this part of Cabo and we were surprised at how much we loved it. We rented a car during our stay and the Bell men were so quick and accommodating to bring our car up to the front. Our friend at the front desk, Braulijo was so nice and gave us so many recommendations for us to check out. The hospitality was exceptional. We can't wait to host our family and closest friends!! We also got the chance to have couples massage. The Spa was a great place to wind down. The amenities were very nice and everything was clean. Our Therapists Claudia and Jose were amazing. My fiancé started snoring during his deep tissue. Lol! Huge Thank You to the El Ganzo team for warm welcome especially our Hotel Coordinator Karina and Max!!

Spent 5 nights at El Ganzo during my stay half my room lost power. Once I reported it to the front desk I never was told anything other than we will let you know...After we saw the maintenance team leave our room we expected to hear something but did not. Only because we went back to the front desk did we find anything out...at this point we wasted close to 4 hours and needed to pack up everything to move to a different room Restaurant at both the hotel and beach were average at best! 2 stars because we were upgraded to a suite and refunded 1 nights stay They did finally (2 months later) make things right. Beach was lovely Rooftop pool was nice

STAY AWAY FROM THEIR RESTAURANT!! Overpriced, worst customer service.. . We ordered Hummus with Pita bread and they only gave us 4 tiny pieces of pita bread. Basically, one pita bread but they cut it into four pieces. We asked for additional pita bread and they gave us another 4 burnt tiny pieces WITH EXTRA CHARGE.. We also ordered 2 "CATCH OF THE DAY FISH" but we couldn't even touch it. The fish still stink! NOT TO MENTION THIS PLACE IS FULL OF MOSQUITOS WE WERE GETTING BIT ALL OVER WHILE SITTING HERE!! We walked out paying more than a $100 USD for Hummus and Pita bread and 3 tacos because these were the only thing we could eat from what we ordered.. Oh, and they will charge you 200 MXN peso for one small water bottle that you can buy for 20 pesos outside..

The Staff at Hotel El Ganzo is the Best in Baja. From Reception to Housekeeping and in between! Outstanding Service Poolside from Alan Margarita and the rest of the Crew!

Recently stayed at the Hotel El Ganzo for four nights. We enjoyed the property, the food and the service. All around our experience was very good. The staff really care about your experience. The food was fantastic. And the design and art something unique. All around good experience. One thing to note - hotel lobby area and the bar/restaurant that is inside can be warm as it's all open air concept. But something you except if visiting at certain times of year. Highly recommend and will visit again.

A very different Cabo experience. This place hits the spot. It's in Cabo, but not really. You're a quick cab ride (or a few mile walk) to the places that make Cabo infamous, but this is not a party hotel. Beautiful location, a few great spots in the hotel to eat and drink, and two exquisite pools. Food was good and affordable for what you're expecting. Staff was courteous. There's not a lot of nearby places to walk to eat. The Drunken Sailor was one, but in my opinion it was just ok. Nice marina with an art installation if you want to do a 2+ mile walk or run (round trip). Besides an OXXO and a few mini-bodegas, not much else in terms of shopping, but that's ok. The upstairs infinity pool runs the length of the roof and has a swim-up bar. There's a fitness facility on-site as well. It was a WONDERFUL experience. Glad I went!

El Ganzo "Welcome" drink! The hotel's art and music are everything! This hotel is the portal to feeling refreshed and at peace! Fantastic vibes and views!

It's a beautiful location but the restaurant at this five-star hotel is inconsistent and underwhelming. The manager Silvia was very defensive. She offered to refund our undercooked meal but would not offer anything in recompense: she did not offer to remake it because the lunch service was over, she didn't offer a complementary glass of wine or dessert. It's just our problem apparently. Do not recommend coming to this restaurant for the food. After requesting to speak with the general manager, Max, he apologized and shared that they are reviewing and updating their menus to improve the food quality and consistency, especially at a 5-star hotel. We will come back in a few months to see the improvements. Max seems genuine and committed to improving their reputation.

Beautiful hotel, really cool vibe and loved the art. Downstairs restaurant service was mixed but food was always exceptional! Roof top, Alan was the best, so attentive and personal. Rooms were great... walls are paper thin. I could hear our neighbors peeing and coughing all night.

Loved it here... Cute decor, Artsy hotel, good music, clean pool, pretty views of the marina, nice firepit outside, and overall clean hotel. We felt safe! This place was an Amazing experience during our vacation! The staff was so nice and attentive (especially Sergio and Benjamin). The food at the rooftop bar was so delish and the drinks are yummy. They also have a boat that takes you to the private drinks across the hotel, which was fun. The cabana beds are soft.

Great hotel! Friendly staff, artsy vibe, located on the marina. We were debating between two different hotels, and the pictures of the rooftop infinity pool definitely swayed me towards staying here. The pool is just as awesome as it looks in the pictures. They also have a hot tub on top of the infinity pool. And just when you think you're done being excited over the pool, check it out at night when it lights up. Seriously, the pool is awesome. Rooms are nice. The bedding was so comfortable. It's an open bathroom concept... the toilet is behind closed doors, but the tub and shower are separated by a sheer curtain. So, come with someone you don't mind being naked around. Service here was unbeatable too. The front desk staff were helpful with everything from currency exchange to local automotive shops for rental car mishaps. There's access to a private beach across the marina - you usually get there by boat, but we were there during off season, so the boat was not operating, so they took us around by car. Free bikes available to use, and they're located right along the bike path to a cacti garden with hundreds of cacti arranged in beautiful patterns. You can go by yourself, or meet in front of the hotel for a guided tour. Make sure to wear bug spray!!

The hotel is absolutely amazing! As soon as you walk in the customer service is 11/10. The rooms were so beautiful. Aside for some sugar ants by the sink and the paint smell in the shower the room was great! The view was so beautiful watching sunrise to sunset and the fisher men gearing up in the morning and coming back in the evening. The private beach with beach beds, chairs, servers, restaurant made me feel like luxury. The hotel roof top swim up bar and roof top restaurant was an unforgettable experience. The hotel restaurant and room service anytime I was hungry... I felt spoiled. I've never traveled out of the country before and was glad this place was my first experience. Aside from all the great amenities the customer service was my absolute favorite. The chlorine in the pool turned my hair green and the staff and guest all helped me get it back to my right color. If I could I'd give them 10 stars.

We just got back from the most wonderful vacation. The place is drop dead gorgeous and the vibe is so special. They service was fabulous and everyone is so helpful and kind. The pool areas, the private beach and the artistic collaboration throughout the hotel are simply magnificent. The food at all the restaurants was delicious. It is a small sexy romantic boutique hotel geared towards music, artistry, spa services and very eco friendly. Right on the marina where it joins the Sea of Cortez. Check it out!

Hotel El Ganzo surpassed all of the expectations we had for it and I already cannot wait to go back. My husband and I spent 3 nights at El Ganzo in February and I don't know if it was just because we stayed Sunday - Wednesday or because it was "winter" but it felt like we were one of very few people there - a perk in my book. We had totally not realized that El Ganzo was adults only but it was a super pleasant surprise - it made the pool so quiet and relaxing. The service was excellent from day one and we felt very welcome from the moment we pulled into the lot. We arrived around 1 and they allowed us to check in early without a problem - another pleasant surprise. Our room was an ocean view king on the second floor and we loved seeing the birds and sea lions out our window - the view truly was something out of a dream. The AC worked excellently and kept it cool at night. Although our room was directly above the restaurant we didn't have trouble with noise at all. The pool and the private beach club make it tough to choose how to spend the day - we ended up spending time at both each day of our stay. You can't go wrong ordering the chicken nachos (seriously they're so good that we had them twice) at the beach club or the sushi at the pool bar. The margaritas are better than the mojitos in my opinion but I am not an expert about either. Breakfast at the main restaurant was SO good - I ordered the freshed pressed Baja Juice everyday and had no regrets despite it tasting a little different each day haha! The French toast also came a little differently each time but it was SO good every time. The valet handled our rental car well and we appreciated the convenience of not having to deal with parking during our vacation. They will charge your meals and drinks to your room - always check the receipt when you sign though, the first day we noticed our server accidentally added a few beers and bottles of water to our bill that belonged to the cabana in front of ours. It was a super busy Sunday afternoon and and as soon as I pointed it out the bill was corrected - no big deal. Fair warning for picky eaters or vegetarians, I'm sadly allergic to avocado and I don't eat red meat or pork and while there were options the menus were slightly limited. I was able to find something I liked but I would have loved more chicken or vegetable options. Room service is 24 hours which is AMAZING but again, it was a very limited menu not a traditional room service/late night snack selection. Downtown San Jose was only 10-15 minutes away by car and we didn't have too much trouble getting there when we wanted to but honestly El Ganzo was so great we didn't really want to leave much.

We had a reservation we asked to move to new dates because of the pandemic crisis of Coronavirus and the possible travel disruption and quarantine expected this week. Other hotels were incredibly understanding and helped us move our reservations. Not El Ganzo. Their answer: we don't have coronavirus over here, not our problem. It's unethical and ignorant not to support customers with dates changes in a pandemic crisis like this. You might not have coronavirus cases in Cabo but your guests might not be able to travel, due to quarantines and general disruption. Disappointing, insensitive and ignorant.

I stayed there for 2 nights. The day I was supposed to leave, my purse was stolen from there. They basically accused me of losing it somewhere else. I had just seen it in my rental car while it was parked out front of the hotel. I asked the valets to watch my car for a moment. When I got back , my purse was gone. So was one of the employees. All my money and credit cards were gone. I had no where to sleep without my money and cards and despite my purse being stolen there, they would not accommodate me for one night as I was leaving the next day. Never again. If you do go there, do not leave your valuables out of your direct line of vision.​

We had an amazing stay at El Ganzo; it's THE place to stay when in Cabo, you don't want to overlook it. From the moment we walked in, greeted warmly by the staff and handed a delicious welcome drink. Room service handled all our requests gracefully. Beautiful thought provoking art installations sprinkled intentionally throughout the entire hotel. Yoga classes in the beautiful movement studio each morning. Fire places by the water where we'd hang out till late when we weren't dancing the evening away at Crania, their burning man vibe industrial renegade style venue on the beach. Complete with a dj table beneath a massive crane, fire spinners putting on a damn good show, and tables around the dance floor available to reserve with bottle service. And you even take a cute 2min boat ride to get there from the hotel - overall a very fun experience. The whole place is very young, hip, great vibes. Highly recommend!!

this review is just for a day pass at the beach. Beautiful swimmable beach. staff - especially our server Ian - was awesome food / drinks were on point and it's an amazing place to lounge for the day. Ite not cheap but it's a luxury and totally worth it to spend the day lounging in a cabana having cocktails and food brought to you. my favorite thing we did during our 5 days in BCS.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel El Ganzo, and will definitely find our way back there next time we are in Cabo. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The hotel furnishings were very tasteful. The entire place was very clean. The only minor setback we encountered was how expensive the spa treatments were. They were a lot more pricey than the full service spas here in the US. There were lower prices quoted, but only for locals. It was a bummer we didn't experience the spa due to the high prices as it was something we really looked forward to. The food and beverage prices were also higher than we expected. Other than that, everything else was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel if you want a super relaxing vacation in a chic, modern hotel surrounded by amazing people!

Every hotel should work like this...supporting artists and offering a range of activities for a small boutique hotel. It was like staying at an art museum, each floor and room having different artist touches. The food was extremely good, especially the taco truck. 2 pools and glass hot tub on roof overlooking harbor. Also private beach accessible from 2 minute boat shuttle with incredibly comfortable loungers. You can spend your evenings by the fire pits listening to live flamenco on weds eves or dj curated music on Thursday for example. Crania , an outdoor music spot, next to private beach is open weekends , looked like a mini burning man (wasn't there to personally experience ). Hotel was well staffed and reasonably priced for value, nice touches like turn down service with unique homemade treats each nite. highly recommend for unique experience!

I just wanted to write a review for the most wonderful experience with Hotel El Ganzo. I had my wedding there May 18-20 and it was absolute paradise/perfection! The staff was exceptional, the hotel was so eclectic and unique. I hosted a welcome cocktail reception Friday at "The Container", which is accessible by their private water taxi. Our ceremony was on the grass jetty, in the middle of the marina, and it was breathtaking! They accommodated my every wish and need and I cannot wait to go back for our anniversary! The rooftop pool has the most amazing view, and is to die for! There is a separate hot water pool which you can take some cool photos in. There are cabanas for you to lounge in, and always an attentive staff at the bar. The room was EXCEPTIONAL. It was larger than my house! They were able to accommodate me and the bridal party in the penthouse suite. The views from this room were phenomenal. Thank you, El Ganzo for the most memorable weekend of my life! Will post some photos :)

PREDATORY HOTEL. BEWARE., where to begin ? We were staying across town when we booked two nights at the hotel, thinking it would be nice to be by the water and beach. The week before our stay, we happened to be walking by the hotel and decided to try out their lobby restaurant---it was empty but we thought we would give it a try anyway...It was SUCH A BAD experience, we immediately decided to cancel our future stay for the following week. (With a restaurant so bad, I had a very bad feeling about the hotel ) I walked up to the hotel reception to cancel. They said "NO" reservations are gone for the day, come back tomorrow or call them....O.k. , I call back the next day, they say "Oh, you booked "a special rate" what ? I don't want a special rate. I'm not interested in a special rate. I would just like want to cancel my booking for next week " Sorry Sir, you booked a special rate and you cannot cancel." ????? Cannot cancel ?. ONE MONTH LATER, i'm still disputing the charges with my bank. $500 for two nights in which we NEVER STAYED A SINGLE MINUTE inside. Any other hotel in the world would cancel a reservation made at least 7 days in advance, or at the very least keep 1 night booked and refund the rest---NOT EL GANZO.THEY have "special rates" Meaning they NEVER GIVE BACK YOUR $$$. STAY AWAY !

Great boutique hotel by the marina. Great staff, great amenities, great food! We love it! It's our 3rd time back. It's away from town, not too far way ... so it's quiet!

This place is the shit! The staff busts their ass to impress. If you are considering having a wedding venue here look no further. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed.

We just got back from our trip to Cabo and couldn't be happier with our stay at El Ganzo. TL;DR the art is super cool, the vibe is chill (not party), the service is impeccable. I've never stayed at a hotel that had real art before. I mean, they all have art, but it's all bland and more what I would call decor than real art. This place has real art. Everywhere. Much of it is simple or even simplistic. Some of it is intricate. Some is thought-provoking. Some of it is terrible. In other words: it's *real* art. I'm not saying it's like staying in a fine art museum, but the fact that a high-end hotel is willing to take chances and support up and coming artists is really refreshing. If you go, plan to spend some time walking the halls and admiring the work. Pro tip (b/c I stayed there for 3 nights and I'm a pro now): one day take the boat ferry across the water to the beach, but instead of turning left to go to the beach turn right and walk along the marina path. Skip the dolphin exploitation business and admire the sculptures and paintings along the path. How is this not associated with El Ganzo? Some of it is amazing! Some surreal and creepy stuff with no real explanation of what it's doing there, who put it there, what any of it means, etc. Speaking of which, you can borrow the Ganzo bicycles for free, but there's not a ton to see in the neighborhood. You might think that riding around the marina would be a good idea. It wasn't the worst idea I've had, but I was starting to question my choices when I got 1/2 way there, the sidewalks ended, and I had to choose b/w riding my rusty loaner bike with coaster breaks and no helmet on the road through the traffic circles or the dirt and various possible private properties near the road. I chose the latter. If the Ganzo has any influence they'll get the marina path extended all the way around the marina to the Ganzo which would be lovely. El Ganzo is off the beaten path. There's not much around there and most guests seem to spend most of their time lounging by the pool or the private beach. Downtown cabo san lucas is about a 40 min drive so you have to be motivated to go down there and rent jet skis or something. It's not as "touristy" as the other resorts and it's smaller. Maybe of the guests are latin and are from the US. The staff is super friendly and most of them speak passable english. The rooftop pool "closes" pretty early, which is kind of annoying, but actually it never really closes. What I mean is that if you want to have a fancy drink at the bar that is in the amazing beautiful infinity pool and watch the sun set you need to bring the drink with you from downstairs and carry it into the pool. They'll only serve you til 6 or 7pm, but they won't kick you off the roof. The bar/restaurant downstairs also has great views and is open until 10pm. The food is very good, but we aren't talking Michelin stars here. The menu isn't large so if you eat there a bunch of times (which you probably will since there's not much else around) you'll order repeats. The food and drinks are quite affordable by my standards, but I'm from san francisco so I'm like: 'the cocktails are only $10? What a bargain!' I'm not a foodie so read the other reviews for better opinions about the food. There are mosquitoes in the evening, but they keep bug spray in the restaurant downstairs and I recommend you use it. The rooms are small but elegant. They clean your room twice a day and leave you little treats once a day, but you never see them do it. I'm a minimalist so it didn't bother me, but if you like big rooms this might not be the place for you. I mean, they aren't japanese sized rooms, but even the upgraded rooms that we got a little tour of weren't very big. The balcony on the small room we had is so small that there's literally no room for a chair on it. They do have rooms with proper balconies tho. The bed was the most comfortable thing I've ever slept in. When I'm rich, I'm going to come back, document everything about the bed, and then pay someone like $25k to replicate it in my house. The staff are wonderful. They will welcome you to the different parts of the hotel and recognize if you are new and need a little intro to how things work. They'll remember you when you come back the next day. One waiter remembered the 3 tequilas I'd tried the day before and asked if I wanted my favorite of those or wanted to try another. If you show interest in something like some of the art or the local fishing practices or mexican alcohols you'll likely get a knowledgeable conversation about it. Things were slow b/c of the season and corona V so maybe the staff had more time to be attentive than usual, but we really appreciated it. They were very good about coronavirus. The staff all wore masks and everything was very clean. Their policies strike the right balance of keeping you safe but allowing you to still enjoy yourself and be slightly social with the other guests.

When we're planning our Cabo vacation, at first we're leaning toward all inclusive resort. But then, I saw all the reviews on El Ganzo and decided to give this place a try. I have to say their customer service is really top notch. If party Cabo is what you're looking for, then this hotel is not for you. This hotel location is kind of off the beaten path. But, if you're looking for quiet, relaxing getaway & amazing customer service, give this place a try. The hotel rate is pretty pricey, but we got a decent deal booking online. For transportation from the airport, we arranged a round trip deal with Gray Line ($19 one way or $33 for roundtrip). We were the only one on the van, so we get to our hotel pretty fast. About 30 minutes top. As soon as we arrived, we're greeted with friendly smile and they immediately carry our luggage in. At the reception desk, we're greeted by Erik (who is amazing & very helpful). While we register, someone brought us a wet towel to freshen up, followed by their special refreshing icy drink. Can't recall the name, but it has tamarind and it was pretty yummy. We got room on the 2nd floor (all the room facing the marina). We went at the end of January and the hotel was only at 30% capacity, so it's pretty quiet. The bed is very comfortable and there's free wi-fi (good, strong signal) in the room and through out the hotel as well. Part of the welcoming package, we have a couple delicious, well presented cookies waiting for us. After settling in, we checked out the roof top bar & pool. Our server was Alex, who is very attentive. He's just so cheerful, remember everyone's name and greeted everyone with their name (and on the last day, he also asked how we enjoyed our vacation, if we're happy with their service, etc.). We snacked on the ceviche and it was just okay. Their mojito was good. On the roof top, there's plenty of lounge chairs and cabana. The infinity pool with swim up bar is simply amazing. The hot tub is located in the middle of the pool. Very cool view while you're chilling on the tub. The hotel is not on the beach, but you can take a boat to their own private beach. There's also bike available on site if you'd like to bike around. There's a cactus garden nearby. And Flora's Farm (which you really need to check out) is only 10 minutes away by car. We have 2 concierge who worked with us the 3 nights we stayed there. Erik and Miguel both are very helpful. Best ones we have experienced from all our travel and we travel quite a bit. When we need to arrange car rental, they help us do that and pretty much if you want to do any tour booking, etc. they will help you and make it easy for you. The food on their restaurants that located on the hotel are just okay. Not bad, but not super amazing either. But, still enjoyable. You can also take boat or car to The Container (part of the hotel). They have great fajitas. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and they don't skimp on the shrimp. We went there at night and when the wind pick up, the waiter brought a blanket out to help the diners warm up. Great service. Also, through out the hotel, there's many cool arts. I'd come back to this hotel for their excellent customer service. Everyone we encounter always say hi & no one try to sell you anything like in some all inclusive resort. They just want to make sure you enjoy your stay. All in all, this is such a cool hotel. I am glad we stayed here.

Hotel staff was amazing from check-in to check out. The rooftop infinity pools were best places to take in the ocean views, and I had the BEST fish tacos at their restaurant.

Cannot recommend this place enough!! Hands down the best pool / bar / rooftop venue in cabo, probably the best spot overall. Make sure to stop by and spend a day. Breakfast downstairs, then head up to the rooftop to enjoy the great cocktails, killer ceviche, and one of the best rooftop pools anywhere. The waitstaff is top flight, and Alex isa true pleasure. We did not stay at the hotel itself, but will be doing so during our next visit. Spend $500 pesos on food and drink per person to gain access to the rooftop, well worth the money.

Came during off season. Barely occupied, the staff were welcoming, warm and genuine. Management came and introduced themselves and stayed connected throughout. The food was just OK, not bad but not special. Though the gazpacho was very delicious. What I don't understand is why no spa, when you advertise you have a spa. Off season or not. Why not upgrade the few guest who are there, to your best rooms available, instead of the standard or basic room chosen? Otherwise all the staff are helpful, it is quirky and charming and I'd come back. Except I looked online for next summer hoping to come back for my birthday week, like a few weeks ago, and the prices for the cheapest room were about only $70 less then the most beautiful place closer to Cabo (Pedregal),which included a suite, private pool, breakfast and airport transportation. Missed opportunities to invest in the long term value of the guest(s). But for what we paid this time last minute, a bargain well had and aid recommend it. Even though it is near nothing but the marina.

Great boutique hotel with stunning views! We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed the rooftop pool! You can take a boat ride to The Beach and lay out on hammocks, swim, and enjoy drinks and food. The hotel provides complimentary bike rentals that we took to The Container restaurant which is also a part of the hotel. The hotel is pretty secluded but we luckily had a rental car and the staff was able to give us great recommendations of places to visit. You can't bring your own food or drinks in the hotel which is a bummer.

I loved this hotel. I am a visual artist and my husband is a writer, so we enjoyed the art work and the concept of this truly unique, utterly unpretentious, creative, gorgeous hotel. The service was impeccable, as were the rooms. The free bikes and ferry ride to the beach club were nice touches. The roof deck infinity pool and pool-within-a-pool hot tub were outrageously cool. What else? Spacious rooms & common spaces/24 hr gym/lovely drinks/sweet people. My one suggestion would be to turn down the music sound level in the restaurant, though I asked them to turn it down at dinner and they did. This hotel is adults only--which makes it a heavenly escape, even if you have kids at home. Note: El Ganzo is not adults-only in a cheesy couples/singles hooking up/heart shaped bathtub way at all (thank goodness). It's just a place where there are no kids. We cannot wait to go back. It was definitely pricey but we felt it delivered a experience that far exceeded our expectations. I don't think the photos do El Ganzo justice. It is a truly special place. They nickel & dime you for everything. They added extra taxes and fees at the end of our stay. The rooms, food, and drinks are overpriced. Do not recommend.

Cue the impromptu fireworks for the backdrop in the marina. Cue the late night, quiet patio of tequila and mariscos. Cue up every moment you have in your mind of celebration because this review has special occasion written all over it: Yelp is in Mexico and there's no better place to review first than Hotel El Ganzo, and I've been waiting to write this review of a very special occasion for months now. How many times can I write "very special occasion" in a review? Sheesh, I have no idea, but let's find out. When you see that the flag flying with the Goose up high, that's when you know you're going to have one of the most off the beaten path experiences that you'd least expect, because when you say "off the beaten path" as it's not a shack, it's gorgeous. It's a boutique hotel of about 70, all Sea of Cortez facing, rooms and is of the Preferred Boutique group. It's completely removed from the expectations of the All Inclusive culture of Cabo. In fact, I've been incredibly weary of going to Cabo for a very long time because of it, and when planning a very special occasion, I had Cabo in mind but it never felt quite right... until I found Hotel El Ganzo. I started clicking through the website and I couldn't really imagine it existing amongst the rest of the all-inclusive resorts. Then, I found out that it's the first major property of a new marina development. And then, of all things, I found out that Charlie Sheen owns the roof top bar. And throws his own parties there. And, well, if Charlie "Short Sleeved Button Up" Sheen showed up on this special vacation, so be it. When booking this place you're going ask, "wait, where? What exactly? Oh it's not all inclusive?" Those are all fair questions. It's in the Puerto de los Cabos, and it's the only property there other than an incredible local taco shop (more to come on that) and a convenient store. So it's set off about 15 minutes, separated from a national park from the rest of the resorts and it's surrounded by the quiet marina of fisherman and yachts. Across the marina, yes that's their private beach, bar and restaurant that they can take you to and fro. The isolation of the place is something to really take in. The rooms, the entire location is designed well enough you're not going to want to leave, and you don't need to... just prepare for it. Oh, hey, a sidebar: a note on the whole all inclusive culture... you eat three, maybe five, okay six, meals a day, how much food needs to be inclusive? The food here is really high quality, including the sushi bar on the roof. I know that seems strange, until you realize there are fisherman slicing fresh fish below you in the marina. To me, I'd rather have an experience like this with pointed food and being remote. I really don't need to guzzle a pack of beer and have the feeling I need to be eating and drinking to catch up with the prepaid bill of food. Rather, I'd love to keep it relaxed and low key like Ganzo. We were there in October and it was really quiet other than the Saturday afternoon pool party. Most of our days were spent on the rooftop with the infinity pool, the infinity pool on top of the infinity pool (could you be any more ridiculous Charlie?) and the swim up bar. Over the course of the five days there were maybe a dozen other guests staying there and really that makes the days really special, and quiet. And the service, be it a slow time of year, was incredibly staffed and seemed to be everywhere and were on top of everything. It may have been the eight hour flight day but the first bite of the ceviche and handmade tortilla is what I want from now on whenever I'm on a rooftop. Every room has an ocean view and a balcony. The lower levels have hot tubs on their patio. The upper levels have a canopy bed that opens out to the balcony. We took a peak at the corner suites, and next time that's where we'll be staying. Speaking of next time... yes, the special occasion definitely makes this place resonate deeper, but with direct flights from Virgin and this place's ability to be consistently remote, there's no reason I / we / anyone else? come down here for a quick weekend away. I feel like I've gone on forever -- some intense Ganzo ramblings here, much like the ramblings I got on about after a fistful of iced Cubanas -- and I haven't even mentioned the downstairs breakfast and the downstairs pool. Or the full details of the service, or that they do rotating art installations and live music, with a sound studio, and movie nights. Oh, and private drivers! They'll take you to Flora Farms, or any other restaurant or bar in the area in their hot retro Ganzo-embossed Land Rover. Really, there were impromptu fireworks. There were quiet nights with their kind staff. Their were endless views of the Sea of Cortez. And, I couldn't think of a better place to *ring* in a new chapter of our lives. Here's to many more impromptu weekends at El Ganzo.

After an amazing experience last year for my birthday I decided to treat myself once again to a stay alone at Hotel EL Ganzo to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. I love the fact that it's a small boutique hotel, I love the fact that I knew what I was getting and I had such an amazing experience the year before I was really excited to have the same experience again. Needless to say there were quite a few contributing factors to why my rating is no longer five but a two... First off the staff is nowhere near a five or even a four star level as it was last year. There were maybe 10 guests staying there the entire time I was there, so there is no excuse for the Un personalized attention I got or I should say, no attention, and not one staffer could remember my room number and they never called me by my first name. Last year everyone knew my name and smiled as I walked by and gave me a five star service experience. That was a huge part of my review and a huge part of why I went back - I sincerely felt that the five star staff service added to my experience in such a way that I felt pampered. Most of the new staff spoke zero English, and they did not have any sense of urgency in helping or serving a guest. I get that I was in Mexico and I should not expect everyone to speak English, but if you are in A service position, maybe like a waiter, IN their restaurant, taking orders and answering questions I do expect you to speak English and the servers did not. That brings me to the food. The food last year was out of this world. The Seabass ceviche I could not stop raving about, and the tuna trio was amazing... I had no reason to leave the resort which is what I like. The food this time around was not up to par. The ceviche was disgusting - the Seabass was not chopped up with any sort of quality-? it was stringy and it was very fishy. It was doused in coconut milk and I could not even eat the fish. Breakfast surprisingly was disappointing as well - my review is too long so I had to cut it out but let's just say no one ever came around to refill my coffee cup . When I tell you I was the only one at breakfast and there should've been people out there servicing me, there were non-they were all inside socializing and I really think the staff has gone downhill besides for not speaking English they just did not care about the guests for the price that I paid I wanted a better service and I was very disappointed. I actually never even ate dinner at their restaurant because I sat at the restaurant for 10 minutes waiting for a bottle of water - did I mention nobody else was in the restaurant? There were 15 staffers standing around and no one brought me water- I literally got up and walked out and went across the street to George's restaurant at the marina inn, which was amazing and was inexpensive. I mean this pattern of bad service continue throughout my five day stay or five night stay, I really affected my experience. For example, when I was just relaxing,If I webt to the bar on the roof deck where there might of been you know 10 guests on Saturday, I was ignored for a 15 minutes when I just wanted my water bottle filled... they now provide you with room water bottles and see there are water containers all around the premises where in fact there was only one in the lobby and one you have to ask for at the bar on the rooftop. That is fine but no I was attending to me - I was trying to relax no one came around offering to refill my water like you would expect on an empty pool deck - maybe staffers going out of their way a little bit? It was almost insulting to the fact that I paid to be a guest and be pampered, because this is a luxury resort, but the service was less the luxurious. Another aspect that was really disappointing was the front desk staff - last year the woman at the front desk knew everything that was going on call Bella was a great woman to talk to in the morning to get advice from about what to do for the day - if I wanted to try and excursion on a boat or which company was the best... She knew I was happy to make recommendations. The woman at the front desk when I first arrived again barely spoke English and told me straight out she had no idea what was going on in Cabo except for their weekly art walk on Thursdays which I knew about. Since my review is coming to an end I'll leave it at I will not be ever staying here again and I will be looking for another resort in which to spend time.

El Gonzo was such a unique place to stay for our Honeymoon. We enjoyed looking at the artwork located throughout the hotel which was a refreshing change from the typical hotel. The infinity pool on the rooftop was a great place to watch the sunset while enjoying a drink from the swim-up bar. And the private beach was a relaxing oasis tucked in a relatively calm bay.

We didn't stay here, we just went up to the roof for the day. It was awesome!! The views are insane. The staff is super friendly. The drinks are decent. We paid 500 pesos per person to get in but they give you that as a credit to the bar. We barely used it all as 500 goes pretty far there.

I hate to be negative but I must. I heard great things about El Ganzo and wanted to stop by to see the place, the roof top, the art and live music. So we drive up at 630 on a Saturday Night, no valet out front, no signage as to where to park. We idle out front and walk in to see where to park etc. First employee we ask speaks no English, so they go get another. "Since your not staying here, it is 500 pesos per person (roughly 25USD) cover charge to get to the rooftop and it closes at 7PM. I am thinking to myself you have a rooftop with a sunset view, the sunsets at 8 and you close it at 7 Staff was rude, it was obvious they really just wanted our 50 bucks or maybe it was just a rogue employee wanting to make 50 bucks. I don't mind a cover, as I wasn't a hotel guest ,but 50 bucks for 30 minutes doesn't work so we left Sad, I really wanted to check it out

Great time at El Ganzo. The roof top deck and pool are great and very unique. The restaurants are good and the service excellent. Great relaxing time here. This is our second visit to El Ganzo and we will being coming back for sure. The music is also awesome.

The food was so good at this restaurant. The hotel is super cool and benefits the art community. What a great spot. So glad we stumbled into this hotel/restaurant.

Just came from a wedding at El Ganzo. I was fairly impressed. Stayed on-site for two nights. Awesome space. They have really turned this location into something worthwhile. I would absolutely come back without hesitation. What you get for the price is unbeatable. They offer what I consider an excellent value for a part of Mexico that I consider to be atypically expensive. Only thing lacking in my opinion was the inability of the staff to anticipate what the guest might need in advance or think of what would enhance the guests experience without being asked in advance. These are relatively minor details but are what make something, in my opinion, worthy of that 5th Star. I like the canteens (refillable water bottles) for guest use and water filling stations throughout the hotel property. I love the different restaurants off site accessible from the water taxi. Food was generally okay, but again, service a little slow. Most everyone was extremely pleasant and friendly and tried to accommodate no matter what part of the hotel I used. It seemed like some of the front desk people had trouble thinking outside of the box upon check-in, but again, just minor issues that were ultimately resolved. I used the fitness center and pools - each exceeding expectations given the size of the overall property. Decor was top notch. Given the cultural differences between the US and Mexico my stay was phenomenal and as stated would recommend anyone considering a stay at this property do so without reservation.

Amazing place! Not only for the view but the service is outstanding and the artwork on the walls all over were cool. Friendly and helpful staff that attended to my requests immediately. The turndown each night was special with slippers laid out, curtains drawn and the yummy shortbread cookies which were the perfect size and hit the right spot. We attended a wedding at their private beach club. Double amazing!! The ceremony on the grass and reception on the beach was magical with the canopy of lights beautiful against the night sky. Hotel El Ganzo is a must stay!

Love! Love! Love! We were at Hotel El Ganzo for a wedding and the entire experience was so wonderful. From the coordination with Alejandra (Wedding Coordinator) from months ago, to the perfect details of the wedding day was only the beginning of great things at this hotel. We arrived to friendly faces and a welcome drink. After we got all checked in, walked through the perfectly decorated lobby to our room. Had a great view of the water, private beach and marina. The infinite pool was was so awesome. With it's swim up sushi bar and best off all the great staff. Alex & Israel were the best. Always remembering our names and orders. Making you feel at home. Don't remember all the staff, but they were all wonderful & attentive. If you are looking for a wedding location or just a getaway, Hotel Ganzo is the place. Make sure to try Acre for dinner. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Over priced and horrible front desk/manager staff. We tipped for all services in cash or pesos When receiving bill they already charge 15% gratuity So you end up double tipping. Also upon check out they charged an additional with no real reason other than wanting to gauge us. I'm short they just suck. Not good if you have food allergies. If your Vegan,vegetarian or gluten free. Gauge tourists. The customer service is awful and slow. We we spent 6nights and 5days. The cabs are expensive to leave this location and they rip off tourists big time. The whole experience from staying at this hotel and using they're restaurants made me never want to visit Cabo again.

Hotel El Ganzo is a beautifully unique boutique hotel. The art, rooms, rooftop, amenities are all incredible. The staff is sweet & helpful (although not all speak english). Recommend for any/all adults looking for a relaxing, fun getaway. Going back next month!
