Emile

"Boasting a separate entrance to the Hotel Emiliano, this restaurant’s standout features are its lobby and a lush vertical garden in a patio-style area crowned by a retractable roof. The French-born chef, Damien Montecer, uses Brazilian produce – in particular fish and shellfish – to prepare cuisine with contemporary, international flavours, and often surprises guests with his focus on presentation, which showcases high attention to detail." - Michelin Inspector

I was there a month ago for dinner and it was very good, however was told the chef had just left and they were awaiting a new one. The service was the best I have had in Rio. However going back this week the menu had changed and was less interesting, (although the ceviche was very good), mains were expensive and small, and the service was all over the place. Also the excellent executive lunch menu had gone (despite still being on the website). It’s a shame as it was one of my preferred restaurants in Rio. However with the new setup there is much better value for money in Rio. Still a really nice dining space so hopefully they can sort it out.

The waiter was kind and patient while selecting wines. They did have a sommelier on staff.. pretty cool. The meal was just a couple bites… ha.. but the culinary experience was nice. A small quaint space in copacabana and did not visit rooftop due to it being closed.

This dining establishment truly deserves all the praise it can get. From the moment you step inside, you are welcomed as if you are the only guest in the entire restaurant. The ambiance of the dining space is simply stunning, especially if you are fortunate enough to be seated next to the breathtaking vertical garden. Their dinner menu is exceptionally good value at $52, which includes the tip, and offers three courses along with an amuse-bouche. Each dish is impeccably presented, and the quality of the food is undeniably excellent. It might just be one of the finest dining experiences you can have in Rio. There's honestly nothing to complain about.

The highlight is definitely the service - 5 stars. We did the 3 courses experience - starter, main and dessert. The food was good, not outstanding. Our favorite was the couvert, which included goat cheese. Drinks were tasty, I had the coffee bourbon one. Environment is also nice - comfortable chairs, well selected music.

Fresh ingredients and tastefully prepared. It's about as good as you'll get in Copacabana. For dinner there is a choice between a 3 or 5 course tasting menu, or al la carte. The tasting menu let's you choose your dishes and has a few that aren't on the a la carte menu so that seemed the better choice. Pork belly and taglatelle were good and the salmon starter was great. We also had breakfast and the dishes, while small, are really good. The le croque monsieur was great!

Google
A true gem in the middle of Copacabana. Understated elegance in every detail, sophisticated rooms with great views of the beach. The only downside is that the hotel is so much more chic than its immediate surroundings in Copacabana. We found ourselves using Uber all the time to go to Ipanema where the dining and shopping experience is so much better.

Google
So far the best restaurant in Copacabana. The food is exquisite and the service is excellent. Dangal our waiter speaks 4 languages (or more). We took the three times experience and was perfect.

Google
This is a beautiful restaurant with tasty, carefully presented food and service that is on the same level as a good restaurant in France (for those not living in France or unfamiliar with refined service, that means it's excellent). Prices are high for Brazil, but low by international standards. Especially for a restaurant in luxury hotel. The night we had dinner, there was a special offer of a three course menu for R$90. On the advice of our server (un grand merci à Rodolfo pour une soirée formidable), we opted for the three course tasting menu at R$153. There's also an option of a four course menu at R$200 or a five course menu at R$240. As we had scallops for the starter and beef for the main course, we opted for wine by the glass. Prices are fair at around R$30 to R$45 per glass. A 13% service charge is added to the bill, which the amazing staff amply deserve. Highly recommended for a special occasion and we will most certainly return.

Yelp
Great ambience, great food and awesome drinks. Acoustics could be better, loud table disrupted our experience

Yelp
The restaurant is fairly small but gorgeous an modern. You can choose to eat "inside" or in the garden which has huge floor to ceiling plant walls. I choose to eat "inside". I made a reservation before hand for breakfast although I didnt need it, it wasn't crowded at all. For R$120, (which about $22.50 USD) you can order a large breakfast spread. I opted for the dulce leche stuffed french toast (an scrambled eggs, an ginger tea) OMG the french toast was so delicious! It's almost like a churro crust on the outside an soft warm carmel on the inside! I ordered it twice an truly thought about getting a third! Everyone is so nice an because I was cold (the manager somehow noticed) an offered me the coziest blanket he put over my shoulders. I would most certainly go back for the french toast again an again!

Yelp
We had the tasting menu. The highlight of the entire menu was the appetizer I had that had cheese foam, egg and mushroom. It is by far the most unique dish on the menu and super delicious! I highly recommend it. For entree I had the tenderloin that was very delicious. The meat in Brazil in general is really good so it wasn't surprising. Dessert selection was okay. I only liked the caramel ice cream they brought. I would have excepted more typical Brazilian or French desserts but otherwise, the meal was delicious.

Yelp
If you want a dinner filled will flavor in every bite, try this spot. The restaurant is inside the hotel so you have to pay attention to the location or you'll overlook it. Very nice ambiance with the somewhat rain forest background in the dining area. Oh, we had the salmon & angus beef pics below.

Yelp
This place deserves more yelp recognition. It's a nicer restaurant than what you'll find in the area, and me and my wife couldn't have been more pleased. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Every course was superb. In our opinion, pricing was very moderate as well. Highly recommend this for those that appreciate finer dining!

Yelp
Wonderful cuisine & wonderful service We celebrated our 17th anniversary and Valentine's Day while we were in Rio de Janeiro. Restaurante Emile was the perfect place to do so. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable, not pretentious. The food was well-prepared and delicious and the presentation was unique and special, We shared artichokes with fresh mustard, truffled olive oil & tulha cheese as an appetizer (the tulha cheese, which is unique to Sao Paulo, Brazil, just melted in your mouth!) and the Manga dessert (mango foam, matcha & yogurt ice cream). I had the white balsamic-glazed tuna & sesame seed and BJ had the grilled Angus flank steak. The sommelier recommended a delicious smooth Malbec - Zorzal Wines 'Terrior Unico' Malbec 2017. (I was able to locate it in the US and purchased a case upon my return.) The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. The Maitre d' went out of his way to assist us in identifying other fine restaurants that we might enjoy during the duration of our trip. Despite all of the above, the price was very reasonable. If I had known how good it was, I would have taken photos to share BEFORE we began eating.
