Fasano Angra dos Reis (Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro State) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Brazil’s Fasano hotels are local favorites for their triple threat of high-end luxury, ultra-glamorous aesthetics, and exquisite gastronomy, and while the Fasano Angra Dos Reis, in the lush Costa Verde region, may attract less international attention than its sister hotel in Ipanema, it’s not for lack of any of the aforementioned attributes." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel was very secluded within a gated community, and the views are lovely. The rooms were clean and modern, and the beds were very comfortable. We thought the breakfast included was outstanding, and the Italian restaurant for dinner was good. We especially liked the fish dishes.|The hotel booked Angra Tours for our transfer from Rio and back. They were excellent.|The concierge who we communicated before the trip was less reliable. We thought we had booked a trip to Paraty and an all day boat trip. However, when we arrived, this was not booked. Luxxboat was able to get a boat and river last minute, and it turned out fine.|The pool was nice and the gym is very large with lots of equipment.|Overall, a great experience.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing due to poor service and frequent miscommunication. Throughout my stay, I encountered several issues with the front desk staff, who seemed disorganized and were often unhelpful. There were multiple misunderstandings regarding my requests, and I speak Portuguese, so no reason for that!| I felt that the front desk team lacked the professionalism and efficiency expected from a hotel of this standard.||On a more positive note, I would like to highlight the staff at the breakfast area. They were always polite, attentive, and made my mornings much more pleasant. Their friendly attitude was a bright spot during my stay.||In summary, while some staff members were very nice, especially during breakfast, the front desk service left much to be desired. I hope the management will address these issues to improve the overall guest experience.

We recently spent 4 nights at the Fasano Angra dos Reis. We had a wonderful time, we got a deal and ended up with the deluxe suite which was very nice and very spacious. Prior to us arriving we had spent a week at the Fasano in Rio. I had not stayed at a Fasano hotel prior to this trip. The Fasano brand is top notch. The staff here also went out of their way to make sure we not only had everything we needed, but were very helpful in planning day trips and other advice. Gabriel at the front desk was very helpful to us. |I will say that the staff is not as fluent in English as the staff in Rio, but I think that's to be expected due to the remote location of Angra. The vibe of this hotel was very relaxing, unlike the week we had spent in Rio the week before. |The hotel is very modern, and has somewhat of a small mall as part of the facility, which I believe is shared with the residences next door. The property is very clean, and having a convenience store and other stores close by was very helpful. The beach and pools are very nice. We arranged a day long boat trip while we were there which was such a memorable experience. One note is to be careful of the Capybara’s, they look cute and are very docile but there are lots of baby Capybara’s and the moms are very protective and will bite you. I would stay here again for sure!

Very beautiful hotel, grounds, pools, half-board is a fantastic value as breakfast and dinner were so delicious. Their beach is not swim safe and polluted, but you can rent a boat arranged by the hotel, like we did and they'll take you to desert beaches that are pristine and absolutely not to be missed. Now the warning - weekends are for private parties, loud and until whenever, so be aware. My first night we didn't sleep, they rented the place for a wedding. I would advise asking if they are having parties before reserving a room. Also their service is so not 5 stars, we encountered people who seemed mad to be a work, not attentive or helpful. At breakfast we were never told we could also order from a menu, no one ever gave us one. At dinner we had a very unfortunate last night where both sommelier and head waiter treated us like we didn't belong, it was awful. Some staff were amazing - Sinara at breakfast and Claudio the waiter for lunch and dinner, also Salvio who looked for medicine for my nephew at all the pharmacies in his town until he found what we needed, he totally saved the experience there.

The hotel is new and modern, with all the quality of amenities you would expect. But despite booking early in the year and requesting joining rooms it is expected for my wife and I to be on a different floor to our young children. The service at the pool and bar is shocking, there are lots of staff but a large table was seated after we had ordered and they were served, had eaten and had left and we still hadn’t received our meals despite asking numerous times. The management is none existent and ineffective as far as I can see. I have been here 24 hours and am still waiting for the general manager to make contact. I don’t hold much hope for anything to be done as the staff’s attitude seems to be one of take it or leave it…. If you are looking for a family hotel with good service in Brazil then look elsewhere.

We spent three days at the Fasano Angra to relax and recharge before the new year. Despite the mostly gray weather, we enjoyed ourselves. ||Pros: |1) Beautiful and comfortable rooms with luxury bath products. The tub was heavenly. |2) Service was great. Special shout-out to Ana at reception. She was extremely helpful. |3) We did a full day boat trip and were upgraded to a larger boat than we'd originally reserved. Highly recommend a day boating if you're in Angra. |4) Spa was wonderful. |5) The hotel has daily nature walks that are complimentary to guests. We enjoyed the short hike to a waterfall. ||Cons: |The resort was undergoining a series of pre-New Years preparations while we were there. This meant that at various points during the day beginning around 8:30/9 AM, there was periodic loud clammering, etc. as workers built a large structure near the pool. This also meant that the second restaurant on property was closed due to the ongoing work. |While this wasn't the most inconvenient, we would have appreciated being notified about this in advance, and/or provided with some sort of accomodation due to the disruption. Having only one full restaurant option on site instead of two (with the exception of the small panaderia/bakery near the hotel's shops) made a difference. This also meant that the main hotel restaurant had long waits of up to 1 hour each evening, likely augmented by the fact that it was the only full restaurant open. |As others have noted, the resort is isolated and within a gated community. Our two full days, three nights was perfect, but I'm not sure if one would need more time there.

Celebrated my wife's birthday. A truly OUTSTANDING experience from the moment we arrived on location. The whole place is very "zen." Lots of wood, glass and concrete. The rooms have views of the water and the mountains. Lovely beaches and pools to enjoy. The food was superb. Very well presented and tasted great. The rooms were beautifully fitted. Service from the staff was faultless. While we love to travel outside of our hotels, due to our perception of external security, we decided to stay on the hotel site. Didn't regret a moment of that. After a poor recent experience at Nobu in Cabos, this is our new jewel-in-the-crown. Already planning our return trip.
