"A delightful destination for a romantic weekend, this 19th Century pavilion is located in a park that was historically the garden of a monastery. Today, the building houses both a classically decorated country house hotel and this charming restaurant. Head Chef Jonas Mikkelsen and his team are passionate about sustainably sourced produce, which is invariably of excellent quality and enhanced by the kitchen’s precise technique and harmonious combinations – organic Lolland chicken with fabulous morels, asparagus and ramson is a prime example." - Michelin Inspector
"An attractive 19C house named after a former king of Denmark; it has a classic, understated style and offers superb views. Bedrooms are tastefully furnished, well-kept and comfortable; antiques and fine portraits feature." - Tablet Hotels
Nice hotel, although could need a renovation in the room we stayed in. Carpets are never nice in a hotel room and especially when they are not cleaned. Besides that the surroundings are beautiful, breakfast was served in the beautiful winter garden, overlooking the park. The service is at a minimum expectations for this kind of place. Friendly, but not pro-active, regardless of the very nice personalized welcome note left in the room.

It is the 4th time we visit this fantastic place . Everything is always perfect, location and excellent food! Wow!!!
Compared the last times we have been guests I missed the plate and presentations of the cheese at the end of the dinner ( or at least it has not been proposed to us) and the charm of the real light / flame of the candles ( even if I’m aware that they are not so “healthy “).
Otherwise, the dream place to be!
Thank you!

This was a little gem on my bikepacking trip. I got 5 star treatment, a great spacious single room and the breakfast was very attentive and delicious. And to top it off, my bike was locked up in the watch tower.... Loved it!

My wife, infant, and I were looking for a nice spot to visit on a recent trip to Denmark. Hotel Frederiksminde provided an ideal rural setting with nice accommodations and a fantastic restaurant.||||The rooms are well furnished with great views. But, the building is over 100 years old, so don't expect it to be modern or extremely well sound-proofed. The Michelin star restaurant is definitely the highlight, don't skip the full tasting menu.

We had the good fortune to visit this hotel for just one night. The rooms are fine, clean and decorated in typical danish rural stile. No luxury but you will find good but rather small beds.|The location is beautiful and very calm. Perfect for relaxing.|The magic is in the restaurant. We had a 6 course dinner of amazing quality with 4 dishes focused on vegetables and seafood. All 6 courses was Michelin standard and beautifully presented by a very competent staff. |Of course a place like this is focused on ecological and biodynamic products and this also shows in the wine menu. If you do not appreciate the new trend with natural or Orange wines ask the weary competent sommelier to help you find more classic wines. The selection is great and not to expensive

Awesome experience, the Michelin star is well deserved. With a bit of adjusting to the meny, I believe they aspire to a second star.
The wine menu was some quite special wines and impressively well matching to the great dishes. Food art at its best.
Last but not least were the servants delivering an outstanding nice and down to earth service.
Very good value, I will be back soon with friends.

My wife had invited me for a stay at Hotel Frederiksminde including both dinner and breakfast. As the restaurant is Michelin starred expectations were high and we were fully satisfied. The food was truly great and the waiters very tentative to our needs. As we were staying during the best summer in decades our waiter suggested that we should enjoy our after dinner sweets and coffee in the garden watching the sunset. The hotel room is nothing unique but was as could be expected from a very old castle - small rooms, no air condition and squeaky floors - we choose to see it as the local charm. The breakfast was fantastic and we had a great experience and expect to come back for more in the future.

Went for lunch to try out the bistro menus. The dishes are not bistro but more like petit gourmet servings, which can be fine indeed. The flavours and visual presentations were great besides the boring tasting Danish Crown beef. For the price tag that comes with lunch (and considering the small servings) an extra serving should be added to the set menu. 120 dkk for 2 coffees without any petit fours is ridiculous. Service was ok.
