We had lunch at La Chavallera in La Punt on December 26 and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, Jakob welcomed us with such warmth and good energy. It instantly set the tone. Even though it is a Michelin star restaurant, the feeling is cozy, relaxed and genuinely welcoming, while the service remains very attentive and thoughtful in every little detail.
Something I really loved was the creativity behind the dishes. While we were having lunch, I could see how much intention and imagination goes into every detail. Just like decorating a space or painting, there is a flow of inspiration in the food itself. It is not only about the plate in front of you. It is about the choices of ingredients, the combinations, the way each element is prepared and texture it will be you taste. There is clearly a molecular approach to the cooking and the flavors are unbelievable.
Our server was Pauline (I hope that is the correct spelling). She was friendly and explained every dish we received, guiding us through the experience in a very natural way. We also tried a wine pairing that was recommended to us and it was the perfect match (Viognier from Möhr‑Niggli Weingut AG) with the “Sweet Bread” dish (part of their Christmas menu). Trust their recommendations and just enjoy the experience.
The dessert stands out the most for me (my background is in pâtisserie). They presented the orange flavor in multiple textures and forms all at once, but I must say every dish was on point and the flow of flavors in the palate was 👌.
We will definitely be back. Thank you for the beautiful lunch and the care you put into everything.
