Hotel Gran Belveder Wellness Resort & SPA

As soon as we arrived, our child noticed a small bug on his pillow. Unfortunately, we didn't realize immediately it was a louse, but thought it was a harmless insect. Our child got louses as a souvenir from the hotel. In a 5-star hotel, you wouldn't expect something like this to be possible. I sent feedback to the hotel, not to ask for a refund, but to make sure that no one else gets infected and to ask the hotel to take care of hygiene. Unfortunately, the hotel was not interested in the feedback at all and did not respond to it. If a hotel is an expensive 5 star hotel, you would assume that hygiene, cleaning and above all responding to customer feedback would be the number one priority. Otherwise friendly staff. The room was also extremely hot, no air condition at all. Good location, and a nice water park/spa.

A truly superb hotel, deserving in every aspect of their 5-star rating. The rooms were spacious & comfortable (as was the bed!) and the balcony was lovely. Bathrooms are modern & water pressure very good. The best part of this stay was the staff - incredibly professional, accommodating and knowledgeable about their business. I would especially like to thank the team for all the perks & friendly treatment! For instance: there’s a parking fee but cars can remain in the garage after check-out, spa entrance can be gained prior to check-in at the hotel and again after check-out), first mini-bar filling is free, complimentary water in the room and at checkout (not to mention fruit & chocolate, again in room and at checkout!). The breakfast buffet is fantastic - everything you could want and then some - one of the best I’ve ever had at a hotel stay. The hotel is about 1km from the city so within walking distance to shops, restaurants & bars. The Ostsee-Therme is attached to the hotel and offers a variety of wellness activities. I really enjoyed staying here and looking forward to returning soon! (Forgot to take pictures of the room & everything else so here’s one on the balcony)

When the weather is good this is a real nice beachhotel. There are only a few meters from the hotel entrance to the beach. The beach is divided into many small sections - so there are both a dogbeach, a naturist beach, a beach for games etc. The rooms are big, and breakfast is fine. I have not tried the restaurant in the evening. Parking can be difficult. In the high season most parking lots in the area are occupied by day guests for the beach - However, there is a small expensive underground parking for the hotel. As a hotelguest you have free access to the Ostsee Therme next door - in fact you have your own entrance so you don't have to leave the hotel. This a a complete aquapark with indoor and outdoor pools. For adults there are also a very fine saunaarea - with saunas, whirlpools, and lot of chairs for relaxing. The whole saunaarea is textile free - so you may not use swimsuit in here. Very natural and relaxing. There is an enclosed garden where you can sunbathe, or you can walk the few meters down to the naturist beach and take a nude swim. A really nice place to relax.

This place does not deserve 5 stars and is severely overpriced. There were many many things wrong with this place but the worst was that we ordered a very expensive cheese platter, which had 3 moldy cheese pieces on it, which were clearly left over from the breakfast buffet. The service was unfriendly, the rooms old and smelly. The only good thing was the location. I never write reviews but this place was such a disappointment, even I felt I had to warn people about the poor quality...

This is a wonderfull hotel with a few minst negative issues. The best thing about this hotel is the access to the beach. ||Please note that the hotel is located close to a road with heavy trafic/noise. My room faced this road, and I needed earplugs to get any sleep. ||Nevertheless, this hotel has a lot to offer: Nice rooms and great facilites like access to a Spa and a fitness room, access to the beach, a wonderful outdoor restaurant with a seaside view, a sigar-lounge (!) and a restaurant with a Michelin star rating. The restaurant with a Michelin star is separate, and I did not eat there. ||My room (standard double room) was spacious, clean and comfortable. However, please note that there is no airconditioning. I stayed there in August during a heat wave, and the room was a little bit hot (but I knew that there was no air conditioning when I booked the room).||The breakfast was above average, there is a good selection of food and beverages. ||The a-la-carte restaurant serves very nice meals, and the staff is friendly and serviceminded. ||

We absolutely loved our stay at the Belveder! A true five-star hotel, the rooms, decor, staff, breakfast and facilities are all out of this world. The swimming pool and sauna area are huge with several different types of spa facility and we would have happily stayed in there for hours. We unfortunately didn't get to spend any time by the sea but the hotel has it's own private beach that looked beautiful. The breakfast was probably one of the best we've had. An expensive hotel but utterly worth it.||||We only had one tiny complaint and that was that the hotel wouldn't provide us with an iron in the room. Instead they said we had to pay housekeeping to do it for us which was expensive and a bit annoying when we were already spending a lot of money to be there.

This hotel has definitely seen better days. The room need an upgrade and I frankly do not see a five star rating for this place. Carpet throughout. Small TVs. No coffee machine in the room. Unreliable WiFi. The beautiful pictures of the pool are NOT the hotel pool, but an open to public pool next door. Food was good and service is nice. Better check availability at the Bayside Hotel down the road.

Was there for the first time in mid-february. The style of the hotel, was looking like it was a modern 5-star hotel ..... if it were 20 years ago. The overall price level was way too high compared to the the quality and service provided. I needed a stable WiFi connection for work purposes - but it was simply not working - either in the room and in the lobby the WiFi was extremely slow. The receptionist explained that it was due to the placement of the Hotel behind a big hill (Very bad explanation). In my opinion a hotel of 2016 can not be claiming 5-stars if it has no reasonable WiFi on offer. But the prices was more than 5-stars :-(||The DiVa restaurant was on the other hand a very good experience :-) Perfect and professional service by an enthusiastic waiter and 7 course menu worthy of the Michelin star they have - Very very good :-) And the breakfast provided was also very good.||Also the OstseeTherme was an ok experience - but nothing spectacular. ||In the ligt of price versus quality - i will most probably not return to this hotel.
