Hotel Grotta, a Design Boutique Hotel Naxos, Greece

"Grotta Hotel is situated on a beautiful hillside, overlooking Naxos Town, yet only a short walk from the beach. Guests can enjoy a generous breakfast served in the sunny breakfast room, a drink at the sitting area and stunning views at the spacious veranda, which overlooks the sea. All the rooms are tastefully decorated and are kept spotlessly clean. Each has a balcony or terrace and is equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, refrigerator and safe box. Hotel facilities include information desk, assisting guests with transfer service, excursions to all parts of the island, excursions to neighbouring islands or sailing trips. The Venetian Castle, Archaeological Museum, and Old Market are all within a short walking distance of the hotel. Also, just a few minutes’ walk away is Apollo's Temple. Naxos combining a vigorous nightlife with quiet and peaceful days by the blue Aegean Sea offers an ideal destination in Cyclades." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Hotel Grotta | Best places to stay in Naxos

"Obsessively clean, with an unending breakfast buffet featuring home-baked pies that will carry you easily past lunch, this two-star family hotel at the northern edge of town has spectacular sunset views over Portara. The owners, Dimitris and Nikoletta, who run the place, are the perfect ambassadors for Greek filoxenia (hospitality) and will easily cross the boundaries of a concierge and become your friends for life. To top it all, there’s parking – rare for a town hotel – and easy access to the rocky beach at Grotta, where you may discern a Mycenaean submerged village when the sand bed moves the right way. What a wonderful place! We have been staying here for 6 nights and cannot imagine a better stay. ||As a full-time professor and hospice nurse, I came to Naxos hoping for a stay that would replenish my soul, and Hotel Grotta has done exactly that. From the moment we arrived, every detail has reflected genuine care and hospitality.||We were warmly welcomed by Demetrius at the ferry port, who cheerfully helped with our bags and drove us to the hotel. Upon check-in, Connie invited us to relax outside with a breathtaking view while she brought homemade quiche and a refreshing drink. Our room was ready hours before the official check-in time, and our luggage had already been carried up for us- such thoughtful touches that set the tone for our stay.||Everything about Hotel Grotta is thoughtfully planned out: the natural pebble-shaped soap, the excellent water pressure, and the impeccable cleanliness. Most of all, the kindness and attentiveness of Connie, Constantina, and the entire team make you feel like part of the family. They genuinely care about your experience, YOU, and share wonderful tips for exploring the island.||Breakfast is a feast of homemade sweet and savory dishes, fresh fruit, and delicious coffee, served with a panoramic view. The generous breakfast hours encourage you to linger and enjoy the moment.||The hotel’s location is ideal, just a short 5–7 minute walk down a scenic gravel path to Naxos town, or 10 minutes by road.||I cannot thank the team at Hotel Grotta enough for making our visit so restorative and memorable. This is truly a place that feeds both body and spirit. We recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Naxos. Special thanks to Connie and Constantina who truly go above and beyond! ||-Lisa Woodley

We were so happy we selected this hotel. As everyone mentions, the breakfast is incredible. So many choices and all delicious! We loved having a view of town, as well as the Portara. Sunsets were amazing. It is a quick walk into town. ||Our room was incredibly clean, and we appreciated the water and slices of cake left every day. The staff was extremely friendly. It was great to have free transportation to and from the airport (or ferry). ||We saw lots of other hotels during our 4 days on Naxos and were very happy we were staying at Hotel Grotta.

We had a wonderful stay here. The staff were so kind and friendly and the rooms were spotless. AC worked well and the breakfast was AMAZING. We looked forward to breakfast every morning. The spa is a nice addition too. About 10 min walk to Naxos town. Such a great spot!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Grotta and were thoroughly impressed! The location of the facility is fantastic, with beautiful views of the castle/fortress, the Portara, and the surrounding sea and mountains — just beautiful!||The hotel itself is immaculately decorated and maintained with plenty of amenities from a wonderful indooroutdoor breakfast area, a spa area that can be privately booked, and a fantastic rooftop terrace. Our room itself was beautiful with a private balcony that overlooked the sea. The shower was fantastic with a rainfall shower head and great water pressure.||By far the best feature if the hotel, though, was the staff — from the desk staff, to the kitchen staff, from the housekeeping staff to the driver that transported us to and from the port (just a short walk away from the hotel). Every single person that we interacted with was friendly, accommodating, and truly invested in ensuring that our stay was as fantastic as possible. Of particular note, Connie and Konstantina who were waiting for us every morning to present us with a fabulous and extensive breakfast. They both provided smiles and good advice for places to visit on the island in equal measures. Fantastic!||This was truly an amazing leg of our vacation in Greece and the Cyclades. We will be back and will stay nowhere in Naxos other than the Hotel Grotta!

Our group had 5 rooms at the Hotel Grotta in Oct 2025 and across the board, we loved everything about this hotel. The service was outstanding, making us feel so welcomed with no request too small (or too big) to assist us. The hotel itself is very clean and perfectly located, with an easy 5-10 minute walk into old town Naxos and quick access to the ferry and buses. We loved the rooftop deck and enjoyed drinks (and cozy blankets!) to watch the sunset with spectacular views of the Portara. As many have mentioned, the breakfasts are generous and delicious. Overall, this hotel is one of the best we've stayed in and a very good value for the money. I highly recommend!

My mum and I spent seven nights at Hotel Grotta, and it was one of the most wonderful experiences we’ve ever had.||Our trip didn’t start smoothly due to a cancelled flight and a very delayed journey, but from the moment we finally arrived, we were so well looked after. Even though it was very late, someone still came to meet us at the port with the warmest welcome, and that kindness set the tone for our entire stay.||The breakfast was absolutely incredible and a real celebration of Greek food. Every morning we enjoyed the choice of delicious yoghurt, fruit, omelettes, fresh salads, and the most amazing pies. The cakes were a favourite, especially the orange one!||Our room was spotless and beautifully maintained each day, with a beautiful sea view. Waking up to see the Portara each morning was beyond magical. The location was ideal too; peaceful and quiet, and a short walk into town (around 10–15 minutes on the road, less if you took the shortcut down a little hill).||A huge thank you to Connie, Aino, Michael, Constantina, and all the staff for being so genuinely kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. They made us feel like part of the family and turned our holiday into something truly special.||We can’t wait to return to Hotel Grotta 💙

had an incredible stay at Hotel Grotta in Naxos, Greece—it’s the kind of spot that makes you want to extend your trip. The location is perfect, right on the waterfront with epic views of the Aegean Sea and easy walks to the old town, beaches, and ferry port. But the staff? Unbelievable—they’re like mind-readers, super friendly and quick to sort out anything from beach recommendations to surprise sunset cocktails. And don’t get me started on the breakfast; it’s the best ever, with fresh Greek yogurt, local honey, homemade pastries, and killer views from the terrace. Totally worth it for a relaxed island vibe. Highly recommend!
