Hotel Haven (Helsinki, Finland) 10 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Outsiders often expect interiors in this part of the world to look chilly and minimalist, in the sort of hybrid retro-futuristic style that’s lazily labeled “Scandinavian.” But it turns out this perception is a bit dated. Leaving aside the fact that Finland isn’t in Scandinavia at all, that sort of thing is really more mid-century than 21st-century. What looks most contemporary in today’s Nordic countries is the new cozy classicism, a look that’s very much on display in Helsinki’s Hotel Haven." - Tablet Hotels

I went to Hotel Haven for a pre-booked event (baby shower) and it was wonderful. They had set up the private room beautifully and I was able to come a bit earlier (before they opened) to add last minute decorations which was great. The staff were really friendly and very accommodating with everything. The buffet had great options for food and it was really delicious. The dessert buffet was the best. The communication with the events team was really easy and they made a wonderful job setting everything up. Would come again!

Hotel Haven is my favorite boutique hotel in Helsinki and I used to stay there multiple times a year. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the opportunity to visit there this year, so needless to say I was excited and had high expectations when the opportunity arose for me to have a short autumn staycation at this property.||Pros:|We emailed the hotel prior to arrival and requested an early check in. The reception replied quickly and said they would arrange this for us. When we arrived we were given our room early at check in. The receptionist who checked us in was also friendly and welcoming. She also said that they could accommodate our late check out request.||The room was fairly spacious and felt comfortable. One of the best parts of this property is that unlike in large American style hotels each room is unique, and that’s why the experience is slightly different each time. The bathroom was also lovely and we enjoyed the Byredo amenities. The staff also remembered that we had stayed here before and gave us a small welcome gift and note. This was much appreciated by both of us.||Our experience in the hotel bar was also on the positive side. The decor, service and food were all of high quality, and much appreciated after a long day of sightseeing.||During the night our room was quiet and we got a good night’s sleep. The breakfast was of high quality and gave us a good start for the day. The person who checked us out was also friendly and asked us how our stay was.||Cons:|We didn’t experience any major flaws during our stay and we both hope to have the opportunity to stay at Hotel Haven again in the future!

My husband and I recently stayed here. Overall, we enjoyed the space. Our room was nice with tall ceilings and a large window. The shower only has half a glass wall so it could get messy but not a huge issue. I wish the room had been a tad cooler but doable in September weather. The breakfast is definitely why you stay here. It was great! Can’t say enough. Service was great when we needed it. The location is right in the middle of the action but quiet at the same time. A definite recommend.

Excellent location. It is within walking distance of the tram, making it easy to get to places. It is also walking distance from the square and the markets as well as the ferry to Suomenlinna. We had a great view from our room. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast that was included was great and they also had other options for a fee. The service was amazing. We were there on a rainy weekend and they had umbrella umbrellas for the guest to use. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again in the future.

Very well situated on the port of Helsinki. City center at a stone throw and the boarders for an excursion in the bay as well. Large and very confortable rooms. Quiet environment. Varied and good breakfast with view on the bay. Agreable stay.

Everything was great as others have said. I wanted to comment especially on the restaurant where breakfast was served. Wonderful historic rooms overlooking the harbour. A highlight for me. Also worth knowing that although it did not have a restaurant serving lunch and dinner, the food served in the bar is actually very good.

Hotel Haven was located on a exellent location near docs, just about 10 minute walk from main railway station. Hotel is not the prettiest from outside, but it doesn't matter. Inside hotel is very beautiful and clean, service at the check in desk was friendly and welcoming ||We got upgraded room, which was very nice. The suite was very big, beautiful, clean and the bed was huge. The products inside room were luxorious like shampoo. Breakfast was good and high quality, not the largest of selection but it didn't matter at all. Overall, one of the best hotels we have stayed. Keep the quality high, thank you.

The location of the hotel is perfect with easy walking access to all parts of the city centre. Our room was large and had a great view of the harbour. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent.

Yelp
This was our first time staying in Helsinki. This hotel was quite lovey! We stayed back in the beginning of April. The room was beautiful with tall ceilings. I think this would be considered a boutique hotel- each room was a little different. It is small and cozy, the breakfast was buffet style and really nice. It was a bit of a walk and bring your coat to go to breakfast! Since it was April it was a chilly walk to breakfast because you go outside to get there. The view from breakfast was amazing though! And the ambiance is really nice too. There are a lot of great areas that are in walking distance around the hotel. I give it 5 stars overall but it was a little hard getting our luggage up to the room because the elevator was small, and the walk to breakfast was chilly!! Other than that it was a great place and decent price for the times we were there. We would come stay again

Yelp
Hello everyone So we stayed here the night before we left for our cruise. I must first say thank you to all of the staff when we checked in. When we landed we found out that Finnair had lost our luggage, so had no clothes or toiletries for our 11 day cruise. So it was a pretty rough start of our trip. When we arrived the hotel and told them our story they were immediately understanding and gave us each a toiletry bag to at least get us started. They also provided us with a converter and plug so that we could charge our electronics at least. They were the first people that helped bring our trip around and we are so grateful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We recommend this hotel for its service and for it being so comfortable. Thank you again! Have fun everyone!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel near all the fun parts of Helsinki. Our room was nicely appointed, clean, comfortable, and our included breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious! The work out center is decent for the size of the hotel, and the staff is very nice. Perfect place to stay!

Yelp
A delightful hotel on the water front in Helsinki with nice rooms but the first time we stayed our aircon did not work so they opened the windows and this time the lift does not work, ice machine and they only make up the rooms late afternoon after all the check out rooms have been cleaned. For the price a bit disappointing

Yelp
Haven is true to its name. Great location, amazing, detailed decor, shadowy bar with tempting snacks, sophisticated and discreet atmosphere. The rooms are absolute elegance with great views. The cosy bar area has soft couches and a fireplace. In the summer you can relax at the champagne terrace on downstairs patio. The breakfast is served at Havis. Restaurants Sundmans Krog and G. W. Sundmans are in the same block. Restaurant is a little traditional for my taste, but recognized as one of the best in the city. The bar has served as a location for discreet business meetings and not-so-discreet after parties. Great champagne selection. Haven is on the expensive side but still well within reach. It is great quality so your money is not wasted. Finland's first member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

Yelp
Sad to say that Hotel Haven didn't live up to its 5-stars. Let's take the positive things first: * Very good location, near harbor and the market * Fairly large rooms with large big bed. Though you can also find too small rooms. * Great sound from B&O television. * Electric water cooker * Waterbottles delivered each day. And the bad: * No sauna in the hotel! * Small B&O television with poor aspect ratio. Also the menu is constantly and annoyingly starting on menu items for extra payed products. * No coffee or tea. * Most rooms have bad window views (not the harbor!) * Breakfast has limited selection compared to other and cheaper hotels.

Yelp
Fresh contemporary understated family-run operation in middle of everything. Opt for spacious Lux rooms which you can also interconnect with Comfort rooms - good for families. Great staff. Huge covered atrium for cigar smokers. Traditional room service plus as added bonus multiple offerings from venerable Hanko sushi. This is modern Helsinki at best!

Yelp
An outstanding hotel with excellent service. This is one of those special hotels that really makes you feel at home. A very relaxing bar, bicycles available for use, and an excellent staff. I had an early flight so they prepared a special breakfast for me at 4 AM. It is not inexpensive but very much worth the price!

Yelp
We stayed at Hotel Haven for four nights over the May Day holiday. We arrived very early in the morning, but our room was ready! We were so relieved that we could relax for a bit after a long flight. Our original room was ready, but we opted to upgrade to a larger room on a higher floor for $20/night. Check in was very easy and fast and the staff were very friendly. Our room was on the 6th floor in the new section of the hotel. The view was nothing to speak of, but the room was quiet and very clean. The room was also spacious. We had a queen sized bed, a desk, and a love seat with coffee table and there was plenty of room to walk around. There was ample closet space, a mini bar and a safe. The bathroom was spacious and well appointed with nice updates. But my favorite part of the room was the super comfortable bed! It's easily in my top 5 hotel beds world wide. Other highlights were great water pressure and easy, high speed wifi. Although breakfast was included in our rate, we only ended up eating at the hotel one morning. We really liked the selection and the food, and the service was good. My only suggestion would be better signage leading to breakfast, as there is some construction going on at the hotel restaurant and it wasn't immediately obvious how to get to breakfast. As for location, you can't beat this hotel. It's right across the street from the harbor, the old market hall, and kauppatori. We were there for May Day, and the hotel is steps away from the action at Havis Amanda. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go and make easy stops at the hotel to drop off chopping. I would not hesitate to return to Hotel Haven.

Yelp
This is not a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It's a boutique hotel that is probably fine for tourists but if you set the bar this low for what a 5 star hotel means how are we supposed to differentiate who can and who cannot serve business travellers who require a certain level of basic services? Maybe this is the best they have in this town but I find that rather hard to believe.
