Hotel Hirschen

While we only stayed here for two nights this October, the room was very comfortable and beautifully appointed and equipped. It's location on a quiet (although very narrow) street is good, and only a few hundred meters from a transit station with trams and buses frequently connecting. We arrived too early to check in, and took lunch at the attached restaurant. The luncheon was exceptional with Mushroom ravioli and rock fish soup, among the best meals we've enjoyed on this trip.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Hirschen! The hotel is pleasant, clean, and very welcoming to guests. It’s also perfectly suited for a long stay, with comfortable rooms and great facilities. The location was ideal for traveling around the Black Forest region, with easy access to nearby attractions. A very special thank you to Gerda and Diana for their outstanding hosting — your warmth and professionalism truly made a difference and made us feel right at home. Highly recommended, and we would love to return!

We were a huge family (23 people) from all around the world meeting for our annual vacation. Facilities were above we expected, large rooms, air conditioning (!), great shower, impeccable outdoor pool. Breakfast was phantastic.|But above is the hotel staff, every one, include the General Manager always kind, smiling and doing their best to accommodate our unusual needs. We will certainly come back.

Great location - well sized room and friendly service. Hence 4 out of 5 starts. Only reason not 5/5 is because c £150 for one night stay is too pricey for the quality.

We stayed one week this August in Hotel Hirschen. A huge family (23 people). Everything was above our expectations. Nice large rooms, modern shower, air conditioning in all rooms (!) impeccable outdoor swimming pool, rich and tasty breakfast and above all the hotel staff. All of them, including the General Manager, always kind, smiling and ready to accommodate our needs. We will certainly come back.

An absolutely exquisite stay. The bed was so comfortable, the room was clean and refined, and the breakfast was indescribable… Smoked meats of every kind, fresh cheese and jams and fruits and pastries and micro greens you cut with a scissors. A capuccino machine (you push a button and boop, rather high quality capuccino comes out) The staff was friendly and very calm. There is a pool here, and manicured gardens. I don’t remember a finer hotel experience in my life. Thank you!

We stayed one night in Freiburg on our way to Burgundy and booked on short notice. There were quite a few hotels to choose from, but we picked Hotel Hirschen based on reviews highlighting how quiet it is—and we weren’t disappointed. The hotel exceeded expectations: exceptionally clean, comfortable room, friendly service, and a great on-site restaurant, which was perfect since we arrived late.||Most hotels in Freiburg were on the expensive side that day, and Hirschen was slightly above average in price—but the value was excellent. For a small €25 upgrade, we moved from a first-floor room to a superior room on the third floor, which was well worth it.||We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, and the setting outside among the trees was beautiful. The food was good—not outstanding by Bay Area standards, but still enjoyable. I ordered the Loup de Mer, which was solid, but the Beefsteak Tatar appetizer was phenomenal. It seems their strength may be in regional dishes like Frische Fleischküchle. My wife had the vegetable curry, which was fine, though not very memorable.||The location is about a 15-minute drive from Freiburg’s Old Town (Münsterplatz area), so not walkable—but that wasn’t an issue for us.||The staff was warm and welcoming, breakfast was excellent, and it was lovely to enjoy it outside on the porch. We’d gladly return and hope to stay longer next time to enjoy more amenities like the sauna and pool.

This hotel, by far, exceeded all expectations required by me. It is located in a quiet location of the city. Overall, the breakfast every day was superb.i can not fault anything about this place. During my week, stay here the air-conditioning was a must. I will definitely go back when I visit my son and his young family again.
