The hotel is situated not far from the main sights in Cordoba. It was an easy walk to the Jewish quarter, where the old streets are, the Roman bridge, Mezquita etc, as well as the main shopping area. We did the short-ish walk in from the railway station. The staff gave us a lovely greeting and took us to our room in the area of the hotel away from the road outside (not very busy but cars make a lot of noise due to the old narrow streets). Apparently, they do consider road noise when placing guest in rooms, a nice touch. However, our room (105) was awful. Breeze block walls, some tatty furniture and a view of an outside wall, nothing else. To be fair, we had booked one of their basic rooms, and it was clean and comfortable. Then we found the sink tap was leaking, the toilet flushed haphazardly and the shower took centuries to run warm (so bad I had a cold shower). Hence, we complained, not something we often have, or needed to do. Okay, these things should not have happened but the management, after deciding that this needed more than a quick fix, transferred us to a much better room, albeit with another leaking sink tap.|The ambiance of the hotel is lovely, the pool a welcome retreat from the sun, and the food very good indeed. I would certainly recommend trying the Michelin guide restaurant in the hotel for dinner.|If the hotel had been more diligent regarding the rooms I would have given it 5 stars but I would be happy to recommend it to anyone.
