Hotel Indigo Cardiff by IHG

I wanted to write a review for this fantastic hotel. From start to finish our stay was epic. Zara on reception was lovely and booking in was a very easy process. Then the room was just lush. Thank you for the balloons, little note and the free birthday drink. My husband always moans that I always buy him a bottle of rum on his birthday and never do anything else. He was blown away. The Welsh touches and decor of the room was right up our alley and the coffee shop downstairs was so cosy. We enjoyed our drinks in the bar but would change the decor. The black and white theming looked cold compared to the traditional homely Welsh finishing to the rest of the hotel. All in all one of our favourite hotels and we would recommend it to anyone.

We had a gig in Cardiff and needed a city centre hotel for the weekend. The Indigo was a great pick. The hotel is right in the heart of the city centre and in easy access for all main venues and attractions. The hotel was lovely with a good coffee bar by the entrance and a fabulous restaurant bar on the top floor with city views. Our hotel room was beautifully done and had lots of extras such as robes and bottles of water in the fridge. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel Indigo offers a Welsh theme and lots of comfort. The shower is amazing and the buffet breakfast with cooked options, the best I have had. The quality of the food shows care and attention to detail. |I had a birthday celebration in Lefel 6 with family too. The buffet was full of quality food and cheese, just what I asked for. The views from the balcony of Lefel 6 are great for looking over Cardiff city. |Staff show diligence, warmth and efficiency. |Thank you for a great stay!

We recently stayed here for one night, as were seeing Lewis Capaldi at the Utilita Arena. We had two rooms, as we took our teenage daughters with us. The hotel from start to finish was fantastic. Great location, right in the heart of Cardiff with easy walking distance to everything. Really tastefully done bedrooms, with an amazing queen size bed, that was incredibly comfortable. We didn't hear a single sound all night. Shower was really powerful and the rooms were spotless. Great breakfast in the morning on the sixth floor. Service from a lovely smiley young lady on the Sunday morning. All reception and bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definately be here again!! Please let your staff all know how great they were, we've stayed in a lot of hotels and this one was fab!!!!!!!!!!!

My sister and I booked a room at this hotel while we're in Cardiff to see a concert. ||We were immediately impressed by the clean, cosy & welcoming entrance & coffee shop, particularly how safe and secure it felt. The front of house staff were very friendly and helpful.||Our room was spotlessly clean, and very cosy. We particularly loved all the Welsh details. The bed was comfortable and we both slept really well.||We enjoyed a hot, powerful shower in the morning followed by a delicious breakfast buffet, and a very welcome late check out. The upstairs bar looked great too, a must for next time!||Overall a very enjoyable stay - good value for money and an ideal location for shopping, the Utilita Arena or the Principality Stadium.||We parked in the NCP Greyfriars (a short walk away) and had a discount code from the hotel which made the 24 hour parking really reasonable. ||The hotel was also happy to keep hold of our luggage after we checked out so we could do some shopping which was really helpful.||We will definitely book again 🥰

My experience was very bad for reasons no guest should ever have to go through. After spending a few days in Bath, I stayed at this hotel to visit the city of Cardiff. The location is excellent and the food is good, but you cannot leave your belongings or personal items in the room unless you store them very securely. On my first day there, one of the housekeeping employees made one of my souvenirs disappear. I had just spent a few days in Bath and bought a souvenir at the Christmas market. I arrived on the very last day to buy it, only to lose it in my own room at the Hotel Indigo in Cardiff.||I noticed immediately and reported it. It was a souvenir the size of a ring, wrapped in paper to protect it, and it was placed next to other items I had purchased. At the front desk they told me they would try to look for it because the trash had not been taken out yet, and that they would notify the housekeeping staff. I asked every morning and every night during my stay, and they always told me the same thing.||Several days later I ran into a housekeeping employee and asked him about it; he told me they had not been notified that anything was missing. At first I thought they might have mistaken it for a piece of paper because they cleaned very thoroughly, but that wasn’t the case. Two coffee cups I had ordered and an empty soda bottle stayed in my room until the day I left. They didn’t replace the bathroom trash bags, and the ones they used were very small, so the cleaning wasn’t very thorough. Because of that, I don’t believe they confused my souvenir with trash.||I left feeling very disappointed, frustrated, and angry because it was a souvenir I had wanted to buy since I arrived. It was from another city and from the last day of the Christmas market, so there was no chance to buy it again. I felt there was no genuine effort from the hotel to help me; they just repeated the same rehearsed message to get rid of me. I will definitely not recommend this hotel nor stay here again in the future if I cannot trust that my belongings will be safe in the room I am paying for, since there is no difference between that and leaving them out on the street.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. Enjoyed every minute of our short overnight stay.|Special mention goes to Georgia and Zara at the Front Desk whose sense of humour, all round friendliness and attentiveness were outstanding. An absolute joy to find in Customer Service in these times.|Our room was extremely comfortable, well appointed with very unusual, entertaining and pleasing decor.|Breakfast was one of the best we’ve ever enjoyed in a hotel with lots of different choices.|Thoroughly recommend this hotel to one and all.|We will definitely be returning.

We stayed here three nights in a Twin Standard room, and we can definitely recommend this hotel. The location is excellent - close to shopping, pubs, and the castle, and close enough to the train stations. The breakfast was very typical for UK hotels, and is served in the restaurant/bar on the sixth floor. The service there was always friendly and efficient. Our room was spacious, probably because it had two twin beds rather than two queens, and the bathroom was attractive and nicely tiled. I guess the room had the "Made in Wales" decor, which was a nice contrast to the industrial nature of the elevator landing and the hallways. We did think that the walls were a little bare. One thing we did not like at all were the frosted glass windows, which faced a covered light shaft. In addition to often feeling like we were trapped on a spaceship, we did not like being unable to preview the highly variable weather in the morning. We greatly enjoyed Cardiff and this hotel, and as it was by far the cheapest of our four UK hotels, we felt it was an incredible value.
