Hotel Indigo - Stratford Upon Avon (Stratford-upon-avon, UK) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Hotel Indigo - Stratford Upon Avon isn’t just located in Shakespeare’s hometown, it’s set right across the street from New Place, the playwright’s final family home. As such it’s positively steeped in Tudor charm; the building incorporates elements that date back to the 15th century, and however contemporary its interiors may be, there’s never a shortage of antique atmosphere." - Tablet Hotels

Hotel Indigo Stratford-upon-Avon | Best places to stay in Stratford-upon-Avon

"Dating back to the 16th century, this revamped Stratford stalwart is ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in Stratford’s literary heritage. Behind the original Tudor black and white frontage, this is a very 21st-century affair, with rooms spread across the 16th-century building, a Georgian townhouse and a new wing. All feature Hypnos beds, spa-style bathrooms and Egyptian cotton, making these some of the luxiest rooms in town. The Woodsman restaurant is carnivore heaven, with old-breed beef and lamb, and locally-produced venison all on the menu. A post-dinner nightcap in the Falcon bar, home to a mind-boggling array of whiskeys, is the perfect way to finish the night. It’s located right next to New Place, Shakespeare’s former home, and is an easy walk from the other main sights and the Royal Shakespeare Company theatre. " - Annabelle Thorpe

Really amazing, clean and new room. Free beverages and snacks in the room, that is quite a rare thing. Location is absolutely ideal as well. I really can't find anything bad to comment about the hotel. Maybe that the breakfast could have (some of) the English breakfast ingredients like the beans and tomatoes as part of the buffet instead of on the menu? But their breakfast is already quite good, by the way. ;) I was here for a business trip, but will definitely come back for leisure! That is how good it is.

Lovely hotel situated in the heart of Stratford. Our room was in the Georgian part of the hotel and was simply perfect. Very well appointed with great decor, lovely bathroom and everything you could need. Outside garden space is very nice and the breakfast was very good. Very good car park to the rear. Definitely recommend giving this hotel a try. Not the cheapest but quality.

We loved it here SO MUCH! Such a beautiful hotel: the common areas, the rooms, and even the hallways. Great paint colors and fun artwork. The lobby area (at the back) is modern feeling and the "front" of the hotel (meaning on the busier street) is rustic, warm and inviting. So many pleasant little areas in which to sit or dine. We had two interconnecting rooms, one with a king bed and one with two twin beds. Both were quiet and plush. And the bathrooms were gorgeous! There was a small fridge with some complementary beverages and snacks (though at first we didn't realize they were complimentary). The carpet in one room was turned up on one corner; that's my only complaint. We stayed in the area above the lobby, at the back of the hotel. I think there was another wing of rooms at the front which we did not see. Those might be different. The courtyard was so nice. Both mornings we ordered coffee and had it out there, and cocktails one afternoon. We did see some signs of the previous night's activities (like cigar stubs and glassware) but it was easy to find a clean spot. It was lovely; we did not want to leave. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Everyone we spoke to was charming and great. The restaurant in the hotel looked very nice, but the dinner menu did not seem very kid-friendly so unfortunately we were not able to eat there. They also have a large breakfast room but we chose to eat elsewhere, aside from morning coffee in the courtyard. On top of everything, the rates were VERY reasonable for what seemed like a pretty busy time, I even think it was heading into a holiday weekend. We really loved it here and were so sad to leave. We have joked many times since then about winning the lottery and then just living at this hotel!!

Superb hotel clean rooms very helpful reception staff. Birthday theatre stop over treat and given a card & gift very thoughtful. The cleaners are super helpful as well holding doors open & calling lift. Air con most welcome due to heat. Complimentary soft drinks biscuits & snacks thank you we needed them. Breakfast enjoyable with good choice & excellent promptservice. Secure parking but chargeable but monitored security. Our second visit and not our last. Only small suggestion a spare wheelchair for use would be beneficial as felt very unsteady due to heatwave. Oasis of a garden in the centre of hotel to enjoy drinks & bar snacks turned out the only saving grace of The Woodsman (restaurant attached to hotel).

Absolutely wonderful hotel, a real hidden gem! The staff are so friendly & helpful, the rooms are beautiful, compact but very stylish. Lots of lovely little extras like fresh milk, complimentary drinks & snacks and super luxurious toiletries. We had a wonderful stay & won’t hesitate to stay again in the very near future!

This was our worst Hotel Indigo experience ever. We love them and planned on enjoying this one too. Sadly we were assigned a room in the historical side that was loaded with dust. It was all over the coffee machine. the lights, lamop shade, and the windowsills. The bathroom was moldy, and dusty, and had a wonky toilet seat. We told the folks at the desk. They promised it would be taken care of. The coffee machine got wiped off. That's it. We asked for a room change and was told it wasn't possible. We would have happily paid any price difference. We ended up cleaning the room. On the bright side the hotel has a great location. It's right in the center of lovely Stratford Upon Avon. The new side of the hotel is bright, lovely, and clean as a whistle.

Stayed here on my wedding day & night and the level of customer service we experienced was outstanding. Danny the manager was an absolute legend. He made sure we could check in as early as possible so that I could get ready and drop off my dress etc early. He went above and beyond. The room was gorgeous, super clean, and the aircon was a godsend. I couldn’t have dreamt of a better place to stay for our special wedding day. Location is perfect too plus the grounds are beautiful.

All around a good stay. No complaints. If I had to critique, the menu at the woodsman was a little small and a bit challenging to find an item for a picky eater, but the steak was great and there were plenty of great options nearby. The rooms were amazing. Huge bathroom. Temp took a while to change (AC unit in main bedroom. Not in smaller bedroom. But it cooled itself) garage and lot parking, gym was satisfactory. Wonderful architecture
