"With soaking tubs and smart TVs in every room, Hotel Ivy is sleek and sophisticated. In addition to the stylish rooms, the subterranean cocktail bar (Constantine) and coastal Italian restaurant (Monello) are hip destinations in themselves, with renowned local chefs and bartenders from Borough and Parlour at the helm."

Hotel Ivy, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Minneapolis

"Minneapolis’s frigid winters are famous, so it’s only fitting that this hotel takes icy minimalism to a breathtaking extreme. The cavernous lobby is an elegant study in sharp edges, marble, glass, and winter-white fabrics, which lends it a mid-century modern air. Remarkably, with a little help from the gracious staff, the overall effect is warm and welcoming. The economy of design extends to the 136 spare but comfortable rooms. The marble-clad bathrooms are nearly as large as the bedrooms, and each has a separate soaking tub with city views. Twenty-one handsomely appointed suites are located in the adjacent Ivy Tower, a compact office building built in 1930; this ziggurat-style edifice also houses a top-notch spa, a gym, and a two-story restaurant. It may all be a bit staid for trendy types, but for grown-ups in search of comfort and style, this is the address."

This is a nice hotel. I am confused why this hotel has been designated as a luxury hotel. There’s nothing special, memorable or extraordinary about hotel Ivy. Room is nice - but standard. No slippers. No coffee maker in the room. Bathroom amenities nice, some of the bath towels had edges that had started to disintegrate. Toilet paper very thin. Servers at the bar great - very attentive and efficient.Breakfast was good. Dinner salad sounded better than tasted.

I was in town for a work trip and checked in very late—staff was incredibly accommodating. They upgraded me to a suite, which was absolutely stunning, with a separate sitting area and bedroom, beautifully decorated throughout. This is definitely one of the higher-end hotels in Minneapolis. I’ve stayed at nearly every Marriott downtown, and this is by far the nicest. Room service was excellent, the gym is spacious, and the spa was phenomenal. One thing to note: spa access requires a booked appointment—it’s not included with your stay. Also, the location feels like one of the safer, less sketchy parts of downtown.

I picked Hotel Ivy for a birthday celebration with my sister because it had the top ranked spa, and it was perfect! Every single person we met was welcoming and friendly. We used the fitness center, which is really large and has virtually all the equipment of an upscale health club, and the spa. We both had excellent massages and the spa facilities did not disappoint. We also had room service, which was delightful. I highly recommend Hotel Ivy for anyone staying in the twin cities.

A True Minneapolis Gem From the moment I arrived at Hotel Ivy, I was enveloped in luxury and warmth. The check-in process was seamless, with the front desk staff extending a warm welcome and providing thorough information about the hotel’s amenities and services. Their professionalism and attention to detail set the tone for an outstanding stay. The Executive Suite is spacious and elegantly designed, it features plush furnishings and a comfortable bed adorned with fine linens. The bathroom was equally impressive, boasting a walk-in shower and luxurious bath amenities. The suite provided a perfect blend of comfort and sophistication, making it a haven after a busy day. The complimentary shoe shine is a thoughtful touch that exemplifies Hotel Ivy’s commitment to guest satisfaction. This service is efficient and convenient, with pickup is available via text. Hotel Ivy’s prime location in downtown Minneapolis added to the convenience, placing me within walking distance of key attractions and dining options. The hotel’s integration of historic charm with modern luxury creates an ambiance that’s both inviting and refined. The combination of outstanding service, luxurious accommodations, and thoughtful amenities makes it a top choice for anyone visiting Minneapolis for business or leisure. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Ivy to travelers seeking an unparalleled hotel experience.

Interesting location. It’s sort of on the south side of downtown? Walking around gets you to places but the area itself is a little…interesting. Ubering around is your best bet. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff is very responsive to your needs. Rooms are spacious and the bathroom is large. The only issue I had was the shower door slightly coming off the wall but they fixed it in the hour I went to get dinner. Gym was awesome! Had everything!!!

Location (5/5)|Conveniently situated in downtown Minneapolis near the MPLS Convention Center, making it easy to navigate the area by walking or rideshare.||Accommodations (4/5)|As a Titanium member, I received an upgrade to an executive king room on a high floor. While it appeared to offer slightly more space than a standard room, it's important to note that this property does not have an executive lounge—so the "executive king" designation can be misleading (I knew this ahead of time; sharing for others). The room itself was comfortable and exceptionally clean, though the closet space is limited. I appreciated the large TV and separate tub and walk-in shower. With only a few rooms per floor, my stay was remarkably quiet.||Service (4/5)|The front desk staff was welcoming and informative about the property. While I did experience a wait for breakfast seating, the service was efficient once seated. The valet team was friendly as I was coming and going. The team at the basement speakeasy provided outstanding service (tip: if using the stairs from the lobby level to the basement, be cautions of the last two steps that enter into the basement level as they can easily be missed). ||Dining (4/5)|As part of my Titanium benefits, I received a $20/person breakfast credit applicable to any menu items. Contrary to previous reviews, I found the pricing comparable to other hotels in major cities. The food was good overall, though the scrambled eggs lacked flavor.||Atmosphere (3/5)|Unfortunately, the property lacked a "wow" factor that I would expect from a Luxury Collection hotel.||Value for Money (3/5)|Rack rates tend to be on the higher side. If considering a stay, booking through AMEX FHR may offer better value.||Cleanliness (5/5)|The hotel was immaculately clean in all areas.||Overall Experience|Overall, this was a pleasant stay, and I will consider returning. Definitely a great option for those preferring a Marriott property near the MPLS Convention Center.

I recently had a three-night stay at the Hotel Ivy, the second Marriott Luxury Collection hotel at which I have stayed in recent years. I booked my first night at the property through the Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts program for a very reasonable cost, while I used a mix of free night certificates plus points for the final two nights. I was able to use one 35,000-point certificate toward one night, and a 40,000-point certificate toward the other night.||At check-in, I was told that I received an upgraded room, which apparently referred to the fact that the room was located on a higher floor, since it was not a suite. The room itself was very good sized, as other photos on this site correctly depict. To use my $100 property credit, I ate dinner at Masa and Agave Mexican restaurant on the property. It was good but not great. I used up the rest of that credit toward room service breakfast the next morning, to cover the amount over the $30 per person Amex FHR breakfast credit.||Perhaps thanks to my Titanium status, the hotel allowed me to remain in the same room for my final two nights there. I had breakfast in the lounge both mornings, using up (and slightly exceeding) my $20 Titanium breakfast credit each day.||My stay in Minneapolis spanned Saturday through Tuesday. I attended a Twins baseball game on Sunday afternoon. Visiting Target Field was wonderful. It was about a 15 to 20 minute walk to the stadium from the hotel, but very easy to travel to and from on foot. Even during the week, downtown Minneapolis is a bit more desolate than east coast cities, but apparently the city is continuing to grow. And the food scene in Minneapolis definitely exceeded my expectations!||The bed and room were generally great. The hotel apparently underwent a major renovation in 2024. The room had a good desk at which to work. The lighting was good. The bathroom had plenty of towel hooks and was spacious, including a tub. My only complaints concern the shower. The shower stall was very small, and the water temperature control in the shower was very slow to respond to changes in temperature from way too hot to a more reasonable degree of hot. If you are looking for a "luxury" minibar selection, this hotel does not disappoint.||Everyone at the hotel was very pleasant, and I would definitely consider staying here again, although I will be trying out the local Hyatt Centric on my next visit into town. The Ivy Hotel is located in a historic building. Hotel prices in Minneapolis tend to be very reasonable much of the time, causing even a Luxury Collection hotel to be reasonably priced.

I had high expectations for this hotel given it had "luxury" in the name. It was relatively small upon entry and I was surprised that the bar in the lobby looked permanently shut down. There also was not a small market or place to purchase water or snacks although that wasn't a dealbreaker. There are places within walking distance. The rooms were small which would be ok if they are clean, but it was not. While there was a lot of food available for purchase and expensive water, it wasn't anything appealing and there were no extras in the room. I just didn't see or experience anything luxury, and the price point for a night is comparatively high. The parking charges are high. The restaurant was average with the menu descriptions being largely more appealing than the food. Each time I tried to go to the gym, which was large, there was a different person hacking up a lung and blowing their nose into kleenex wads (no joke) while trying to run on the treadmill. I guess it was bad luck but I wasn't willing to get sick to get a workout in so I gave up. The folks at the desk and reception were very pleasant each time. The location was very good. I think it is misleading to have the word luxury in the name and charge such high prices for this very average hotel experience.
