Lovely location for a holiday in the south of Limburg. Good service, nice food (we only had the breakfast) and super environment. We had a perfect time and will for sure come back!

A stroll around the moated castle is worthwhile. Later, you'll be rewarded with a cold beer brewed on site.

Character, friendly staff and a very decent restaurant on hand (we literally went there in our slippers, which was godsend after spending the whole day hiking). Excellent value for money. The person who designed the rooms clearly spent some time him/herself in other quality hotels - there was nothing annoying or missing. The hotel restaurant has a tasting menu (there is also a'la carte), which offers interesting taste combinations and decent wines to go with it. They don't have a michelin star (as of 2024 when we visited) but you get a similar experience with a whole lot less fuss and fake celebra. Locals, couples, families eat there and if you want to dine there, its probably a good idea to book in advance. The person at the reception was very friendly and we felt very well taken care of. We stayed in the tower suite, and it was nice, spacious and well appointed (drinks, fruits, nuts, etc.).

Beautiful hotel with very comfortable rooms, and excellent service. I really enjoyed our business stay at Hotel Kasteel Terworm and have no complaints about the hotel, rooms, and staff. I do wish that they had an evening bar menu, and the reason being we were on business and looking for a simple dinner meal. Going into the restaurant we were surprised that the menu was more tailored to the experience rather than the business traveler. I did like what the menu offered, but wasn’t interested in a 100€ dinner. However, the hotel did offer us a beef or fish option in the bar after we inquired about other options. I enjoyed my fish dinner with salad and fries for 32€. I also enjoyed the breakfast here and would be happy to include breakfast with my room options. The restaurant is really very nice with a warm atmosphere. I definitely would consider staying here again, but would probably dine on my way to the hotel after completing my business for the day.

Been there about a year or so ago. We purposefully stayed one night at a three different hotels in the area, each of a different price point, to get a more authentic feeling and to just have more fun. I am sad to say that, out of the three, which for correctness I won't name, this one had the worse service with the most rude staff and, what i assume, also a rude owner (assuming that man was the owner). And, for us, the utmost important aspect of a comfortable stay is a warm welcome and polite staff, more than any other metric outside cleanliness, naturally. Now, I heard people tell me before, "that's just a culture thing, people here tend to be more direct and less friendly" . Yet, in the other two places we stayed, the staff was amazing. So I don't buy this excuse. Now, the room was nice undoubtedly, but it felt... fake... luxurious for the sake of luxury but devoid of any authenticity and love put into it (and yes, this is despite the hotel using a historical location). Since this was one of three hotels we tried, we can confidently say that there are better places in the area to stay.

This is a very nice place and probably we would stay again. It is in a historic building and that comes with certain quirks. The biggest thing to know is it’s not for people who are physically limited. You don’t park near the entrance and there are no elevators to the room. Everything has steps and there is no assistance offered, so unless you get a ground floor room you are toting your bags up the narrow steps. We are fully able so it wasn’t a problem. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff generally very nice and helpful. It’s a bit odd though as it combines high luxury with low frills, such as no help with bags. They seemed a bit understaffed. The food is great but expensive if you dine in. Not unreasonable for the food but high for every day dining. Overall the stay was very good but a bit on the expensive side. One oddity was we wanted to stay an extra night ( we emailed a few weeks ahead and got no reply) and when we inquired as we checked in were told they had a room but they couldn’t book us at the front desk we had go online. We decided to move on.

Yelp
Really nice hotel, but I hate to say it, they stole my phone charger and travel adapter. Shortly (1hr) after leaving my room, I remembered that I left it in there. I was 99% sure so of course I went through all my bags to doublecheck and sure enough I didn't have it. Went right back to the hotel and they had cleaned the room and swore up and down they did not find it. I have not been anywhere else and there is no other explanation. When I called back to speak to the manager and explain what had happened, she was very indignant, as opposed to being helpful or offering to investigate more.. so, I would avoid this place.

Yelp
Hotel is very nice, If you are looking for clean hotel, then you have come to right place. The restaurant is good and the breakfast is very good. It is not the best ever but if traveling and don't need super fancy then it will suit your needs very well. The Spa is surprisingly good but the service is less than to be desired. They have a gym that is for use but there is consistently classes scheduled throughout the day that is not mentioned on the website or in handbook. One must first check with front desk to see what time classes are for the day so you can plan a workout around the random classes, very frustrating to go downstairs for a workout only to find you must wait until class is finished. They have a massage therapist, that doesn't take clients. Not for nothing, what kind of spa has a massage therapist that doesn't take clients? The room service is fine, but when I asked the maids to come back in 5 minutes as I was leaving for workout expecting to come back to a clean room, they conveniently decided to not come back to room and not clean it at all. Would have loved to give this 5 starts but the maids and spa took away a point each.

Yelp
The staff is super friendly and service oriented. All of them meet you with a warm smile and you feel welcomed here. The rooms are generous spaced and decorated with modern furniture's. In my opinion the bed could have been a bit softer, but I guess that's a matter of taste. The food is good, but not more than that. Its not a gourmet restaurant but you will leave the table satisfied. Unfortunately I wasn't able to visit the spa and pool area due to work, but a colleague was more than happy with the facilities. The hotel is almost in the middle of nowhere (Heerlen isn't the biggest town), but its close to the freeway and Brussels is just over an hour away.

Yelp
I stayed at hotel for five nights and it was a pleasant experience. The turtle are happy and active under the heated lamp and a great source of relaxation and entertainment. Restaurant food was great and service was typically good. Room was spacious and clean. I will stay again.

Yelp
The Van der Valk seems to be something of a staple here, and for visitors, a nice retreat. It has a rural feel, while not being in the middle of nowhere. The hotel is equipped with all the usual amenities, and a very nice fitness/wellness center, which has a large indoor swimming pool. Additionally, there is a very nice restaurant that serves a variety of Dutch/German dishes, along with a few others. The hotel lounge has a surprising whiskey selection. The grounds are very well maintained, and there is very convenient parking. Moreover, the hotel is located immediately off a main highway, which provides access to many activities. For military personnel, the Van der Valk is convenient to JFC Brunnsum. As mentioned, the Van der Valk is a local staple and probably has been for some time. As a result, the average age of the guests tends to be very high. Younger, professional aged couples and individual guests are definitely in the minority. Food is very good, but not stellar. Enjoyable, but not enough to keep you from hitting other local restaurants. Wine selection is respectable. Decor has a lot of character. Breakfast is notable. Service is phenomenal. Nearly the entire staff (right down to housekeeping), are bi or trilingual, and switch on the fly. All are dedicated to ensuring you get want you want or need.

Yelp
Great place to stay. It was modern room and bath. The breakfast was delicious and had a huge variety of food. The fresh baked bread was really tasty. Definitely try this place if you have a chance.
