Kleines Meer

"Laid out over two levels, this convivial restaurant has exposed roof timbering that lends a pleasant airy atmosphere. Lake Müritz is just in front of the building, making the terrace with its small lounge area a popular spot with guests. Made from good-quality ingredients, the cuisine here is regional and seasonal; there are also vegetarian options. The hotel of the same name has well-kept guestrooms." - Michelin Inspector

Great location, and friendly staff. The Family Suite on the Lobby floor had a wonderful terrace with seating and a view of the lake. Bathrooms were modern and clean. The double bed in the separate bedroom was comfortable and inviting. The staff anticipated our stay with a one-year old and prepared a baby bed as well which was perfect. The one downside was the room was located next to the elevator and Reception so it was a bit noisy but closing the inner door in the living space helped. Also a Floor lamp seemed to be missing in the living area as there was only one small light over the coffee bar for the entire room which was not enough to make the whole room bright. Minor things which did not take away from the enjoyment of our stay.

The Hotel Kleines Meer is located right in the center of the small town of Waren, overlooking the Muritzsee, one of the largest lakes in Germany. We recommend booking a room with lake view. ||||From a friendly welcome to spacious rooms and good (free) Wifi, it is difficult to find fault with anything here. The breakfast buffet is very good and you should have dinner at their restaurant at least once. ||||Everything Waren has to offer is within walking distance, so you won't necessarily need your car. [Parking must definitely be booked in advance, because there is only limited space in the hotel's garage!]

We had a comfortable stay here in June, nice room, excellent buffet breakfast. It's true that the staff don't speak much English, but we enjoyed practising our German. The quality of service at reception was exceptional (Frau Gisa), really helpful and nice and helped us out a great deal.

We booked a room with lake-view and ended in a small room under the roof. We hardly could place our two bags somewhere. The furnishing was from last century. When it rains and you open the window the "Spannteppich" got soacking wet. But you need too as there is no aircon and in the room is gets hot like hell. The elevator takes ages to come and ages to go. ||Breakfast is good even so you don't have to many choice at the buffet. But fine. A little annoying is that the staff attack the buffert at 10 to 11 like locusts to have also breakfast. But the most negative thing was a telefoncall at 11.10 on out day of depature (after spending 5 nights there) "Where are you? We expect you to check out immediately" Finally ther are better choices in Waren for sure.

The Kleines Meer is a beautiful hotel in the small lakeside town on Waren on the Muritz Lake, Mecklenberg Lakes district. We were there in the shoulder season (April)--hotel was well-appointed, rooms clean, and the restaurant and breakfast buffet are exceptional. Lakeside rooms offer a beautiful view. Beware--very few of the staff speak English, so brush up on your German.

Nice rooms, however without blackout curtains in the room we had. Well located between the lake and the old city. The service in the restaurant is a little bit slow, but the food was good. Excellent breakfast buffet.
