"This place boasts a fantastic location right next to the rugged and dramatic Saas-Fee gorge, through which the Feeru Vispa glacial stream flows. Hotel La Gorge offers comfortable, modern accommodation and a delightful dining experience at its restaurant, Zer Schlucht, serving regional and seasonal cuisine in a charming Alpine setting. The mouthwatering options on the menu include classics such as ossobuco, specialties such as Thurgau apple-pomace fed pork with apricot, chanterelles, rosemary and spaetzle, as well as vegan dishes such as gnocchi, mushrooms, chard and pine nuts. Request a table by the floor-to-ceiling windows for stunning views of the gorge and forest. Shorter menu available at lunchtime." - Michelin Inspector

Our experience at "La Gorge" that was recently completely renovated was absolutely wonderful. The staff was super friendly, very helpful and always welcoming you with their biggest and earnest smile. The bedrooms are super cosy, very clean and calm. The morning breakfast was fantastic and served in the restaurant overlooking the gorge. We spent two days hiking in the region and we loved ending our day with a tasty drink at the bar. Given the hotel's location on the edge of the gorge, our icing on the cake was to peacefully fall asleep to the sound of the Vispa river flowing below... awaiting next morning's breakfast. We'll definitely visit that hotel again in the future.

We visited the restaurant in the off season, which I highly recommend. Beautiful location over a small gorge/canyon. The service was excellent and very friendly. I would recommend reservations in advance in the main season. The food was very delicious and the price/quality ratio is really good.

A short stay, a very good stay. We had two nights in La Gorge towards the end of the ski season and, without doubt, would return. Modern, recently renovated bedroom with clean, well-equipped bathroom. Friendly, helpful staff. Modern, warm ski room to keep the essential bits of kit. Breakfast was decent if unspectacular. The only drawback was the three flights of steps to our room - a killer at the end of the ski day.

Beware before booking! Price gauging at checkout. No offer to grab us from the bus station, room was nice but candidly a bit dirty in the suite in the tower with lots of bugs. (I get it, it’s over the water, but was still nasty). Hotel manager was upset about the price offering that was available to us online. Forced us to pay for breakfast that was supposed to have been included (you can see that outlined on their website as well) and also mentioned that we had messed up the age booking of occupants (we didn’t) and had to pay more than the booking fee when we showed up. Upon check out - not allowed to store our bags in the ski room cause they wouldn’t be around at 1pm on a Saturday. They did offer to allow us to store under the stairs and SaaS fee is generally a very safe place, but it’s more indication of laziness and lack of customer service. Prices are just below the 5 star prices and candidly better Airbnb or other hotel options in hindsight. Lots of great hotels in SaaS Fee, don’t get suckered into the allure of the castle. Really cool architecture and arguably cool location with the gorge, but the attitude, stress and price gauging was not worth it. In the end-we realized perhaps a part of is also us being native English speakers (UK/US bookings be aware)-definitely some favoritism towards local country languages speakers. I should have read the previous owners/management response to other lower stars review more closely before booking.

What a wonderful hotel! We really had an enjoyable stay. We ate at the restaurant for dinner, which was an amazing meal - great food and a great view! The breakfast also had very nice options. The staff were courteous. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and we loved our balcony.

At a similar price as other hotels in Saas-Fee like the Capra, this hotel felt a bit underwhelming. Room is nice, but the breakfast is very basic and the hotel doesn’t have too much to offer. Additionally, the service was average. The lady at the front desk refused to take us to the station with our heavy luggage, making up excuses like “I can’t drive”, but eventually took us when we showed our disappointment. She drove perfectly well…clearly just laziness and lack of high quality service

Our annual ski boys trip to Europe this year was to saas fee, Switzerland, as we had already done all the household name resorts. We found, booked and started a week this month at the relatively unknown | Hotel La Gorge, it was simply the most impressive 3* hotel I’ve ever experienced. Completely and beautifully reimagined in recent years, the setting (on a rock face over a gorge) the architecture, the all-custom fittings and furnishings were really jaw-dropping, unexpectedly beautiful. The restaurant was the a total surprise, food, menu, prep, service all way above. Unfortunately that secret is out, and we were only able to book 2 dinners there over the week.|Young Michael, who runs the place is tireless, friendly, helpful, as were the rest of the staff including charming Marvin, the front man in the restaurant, and staffers Nicole and others. Welcoming, helpful, all. The suites are beautiful, comfy, quiet. Getting there takes some attention to travel details, but Michael was able to pick us up with luggage at the end of the road into Saas Fee, which has no car traffic. More on the cute friendly town later, but book Hotel La Gorge now, before everyone else discovers it. Except for lack of a spa, it’s a 5* experience for a 3* price. Short walk to the ski lifts, and to dozens of fun little restaurants. These folks know hospitality. They only lack mass marketing. That will find them.
