Lasala Plaza Hotel (San Sebastian, Basque Country) 9 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There are modern hotels, and there are historic hotels — and there are hotels that can do a bit of both. Fresh off its hundredth birthday, this 1917 building, with its panoramic views of San Sebastián’s extremely picturesque fishing port, has been reinvented. Behind its meticulously restored period façade, the Lasala Plaza Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel in the contemporary 21st-century style: a tightly focused, minimalistic color palette in blues and grays, plus modern furnishings, contemporary artworks, and the plush-but-restrained comforts that today’s travelers have come to expect from travel in the boutique era." - Tablet Hotels

Hotel Lasala Plaza | Best places to stay in San Sebastian

"A swish Belle Epoque building overlooking San Sebastian’s mesmerizing La Concha bay, Lasala Plaza has been rejuvenated as a romantic and relaxing boutique hotel. Even if you don’t book a seafront room, you can take in the views from the cool rooftop pool and bar; the kind and helpful staff will make you feel right at home; and there’s an excellent contemporary Basque restaurant, which is popular with the locals. It also has a convenient underground car park and valet parking for road-trippers. This is a stylish and sociable base for visitors to this foodie, seafront city. " - Dana Facaros

We arrived, tired and hungry, around midnight. The night duty staff took excellent care of us. Throughout our stay, the staff seemed to anticipate our every need, not that we needed anything special. The room was modern, spacious, and beautifully appointed. (The Japanese-style automatic toilet was a nice touch.) Right at the edge of the old town and steps away from the beach, the hotel's location was perfect. I wished I had a view of the beach from the room, but the roof deck took care of that.

Absolutely dream this hotel. Very nice welcome and service at arrival, everything including car parking was made easy. Reception area light, welcoming and a pleasant smell. Checking staff very friendly and helpful.|The room was stunning with a view to the harbour and the great beach, all a very short walk away. The room was spacious, luxurious, spotless and was a small balcony. Airconditioning and other appliances worked very well.|Location absolutely perfect, right in on the edge of Old Town life, restaurants, bars etc. If you not a friend of walking, it is also possible to hire easy to use E-Bikes to explore the City. |The roof top area view is spectacular, you must enjoy a drink up there. The pool looks very stunning on the pictures, but in reality it is a bit narrow and exposed, but for enjoying a couple of hours on the sun loungers perfect. Btw., who needs a pool if you can walk out of the back door of the hotel and enjoy a swim in clean sea water with access via a set of stairs. A dream in the morning, of course depending on the tide.|Small comment on the rooftop bar, it was a bit noisy, unfortunately the bar man was leading the conversation.|The breakfast was perfect, fresh fruit in small little bowls (nice), and the staff exceptionally service orientated, attentive and very friendly. |Thank you all for the lovely (too short) time we had.

Just a fantastic hotel in all aspects. The staff were friendly and attentive. The interior decor was stunning and very tasteful.||Breakfast was a lovely affair, lots on offer from the buffet and great selection of cooked items from the menu as well.||The bed was huge! Which really stood out for us because in most hotels, the beds tend to come up quite small.||But the standout feature for us was the rooftop bar. The views over the bay, the service, were just phenomenal. We spent a lot of time up there and that alone is making us plan to go again next year. Just a wonderful place to stay.

We had a 10/10 stay for a mother daughter long weekend/birthday trip. The hotel is in an amazing location relative to the beach and all the great tapas restaurants in the old town. What we particularly liked about the hotel was the beautiful rooftop. Even though the pool is unfortunately a bit too small for a swim, it is such a relaxing spot to chill out and admire the views. In addition to that, the staff were commendable in every area of the hotel - from check in, breakfast, the restaurant, rooftop and rooms. They were so friendly and professional throughout. We will definitely be back, thank you!

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Lasala a few days ago during our vacation in Spain. We traveled together with two other couples and had an amazing time. Accommodations at the hotel were immaculate and state of the art, and the level of service by the hotel staff was excellent. We also loved the view of the beach, marina, and surrounding areas from the window in our respective hotel room windows. As if this wasn’t enough, a couple of days after my wife and I checked out of the hotel, I realized that I may have left my watch in our room at the hotel. I had owned the watch for many years and it had a lot of sentimental value to me. I was devastated because I figured it was gone forever, but decided to call the hotel anyway to see if someone had found it and turned it in. The lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and told me she would investigate and contact me if anyone found the watch. A few minutes ago, I received an email from Hotel Lasala and was shocked to read the message. They had found my watch, sent me a photo of it, and provided me with instructions for having it delivered to me!!! I cannot express in words how happy I am with Hotel Lasala and its staff. You have a grateful and loyal group of travelers for life! THANK YOU!!!!

The Hotel was so beautiful, clean and beautifully maintained. The Staff were so warm, welcoming and extremely helpful! Exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect from the views, walking ability to and from all sites and points of interest. The Pintxos tour that we did was great! Food and culture of the old town was great!

One of the best hotel experiences in Europe we’ve ever had. It was a splurge well worth it. Large rooms, elegant design, comfy beds, thoughtful touches everywhere. Staff is efficient and truly hospitable. We arrived very early for check-in and they promised to prep the room quickly and text us on WhatsApp app. One quick coffee later and we were in our room. Fantastic location in old town but on a quiet square. Great Air conditioning. Rooftop pool was a great amenity for quick midday dip. Only a few loungers so sometimes had to que and have a drink to wait. The other guests were pleasantly respectful with no one holding chairs. The clientele seemed heavily American and some from UK. We stayed one night in standard room and the rest in a larger historical view. Both were great the basic room would have been fine had it been available for entire stay. The staff moved us to the second room super swiftly with no disruption in our day. We would definitely return to this lovely hotel. San Sebastián is a gem. Also, we considered other hotels in nearby neighborhoods outside the old town and passed by the and truly the town is very small and we would have been fine staying 10-20 min walk from old town and it would have been fine. Still, very happy with our choice staying at Lasala.

Fantastic hotel with excellent service and an ideal location for exploring both the old and new town. Everything was within easy walking distance, making it really convenient. The rooftop bar was a real highlight — perfect for sunbathing during the day or enjoying a relaxing pre-dinner drink with lovely views. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generous and great value for money. Overall, I’d highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay again.
