Hôtel Le Colbert AVIGNON

We spent four days this past Christmas holiday at the Hotel Le Colbert, with its wonderful host Sandrine. Located immediately behind the Square Agricol Perdiguier, the Church of Saint Martial, and the office of tourism, within the old City walls, and within a five-minute walk from the train station. The location is ideal for a stay within the old City. A quant four-story hotel, facing a very quiet street, which feeds to the Rue de la Republique (the main access to the city center and the Papal Palace) to the west, and the square of Chapelle Saint-Michael to the east. Our room on the second floor was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. The towels were fluffy and the water hot. Our host, who is fluent in English, provided a hearty and filling continental breakfast, with fresh fruit, juice, and breads, shared her love of her city, its many sites, and recommended some great places to dine and explore. She was also very accommodating to a late change in our schedule, which had us extend our stay into Christmas Eve morning, when her hotel was to be closed. We could not have found a better hotel for our visit to Avignon. Thank you again, Sandrine, and we look forward to staying with you again on our next visit.

This charming hotel has everything you expect from a family owned hotel in a French city. We had a comfortable and quiet room with a fine bed. All the rooms and corridors are decorated with theatre artwork, which gives the hotel a unique feel.|The hotel is located in a quiet street within the walls of the old city and is close to Avignon Centre station. We had a great stay and will certainly come back when we visit Avignon.

This is a delightful hotel, it’s only negative no lift. Rooms are of good size with comfortable beds. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast and happy hour drinks are great prices. Excellent location for exploring Avignon.

Beautiful family-run hotel. Great location as a base to explore Provence, charming host, and beautiful and caring touch throughout the hotel. My wife said this was the cleanest hotel she has been to. No elevator so it may not work if you have mobility issue. Absolutely recommend this hotel if you are just looking for a simple hotel to stay for a few days.

Enjoyed everything about the stay, it was perfect for me. Staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, including Bonnie the dog, who welcomed me when i arrived. The breakfast was healthy and a good amount, eaten outside with the sound of the water feature. Peaceful and relaxing

Hotel is only about two blocks from the TGV Centre station. Patrice the owner is welcoming and helpful. But do be prepared to carry your luggage up the spiral staircase; there is no lift. Bed is comfortable and linens are nice. Room decor is okay but perhaps the framed art on the walls could be improved.

Great friendly professional staff, great location, quiet street at night, 6min walk to the train station. Lovely cute dog, breakfast a must try in courtyard. Will definitely come back

The owner Patrice and his little dog Bonnie were delightful, kind and helpful. The hotel is on a quite pedestrian street, clean, well attended. Patrice has made it feel like a home. The launderette on the corner was great and restaurants nearby. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel, very clean and well decorated with eccentric paintings. No elevator, but the manager grabbed one of our suitcases and carried it up the steps to our room. The room is well appointed, quiet and air conditioned. Toilet is in a separate room. Room safe in closet. This is located a short walk from restaurants and attractions, and the train/bus terminal that are just outside the gate. Turn right out the front door to discover many restaurants and quiet streets to hang and sip wine like the French. TIP: the bus terminal is just to the left of the train station and is poorly marked. Buses, however, are brand new. We opted for breakfast downstairs which was well worth 10€. Pastries are made fresh each morning. The manager was quite friendly and very helpful. We loved the place.
