Le Mouillage | Best places to stay in Cote d'Azur

"Right near the entrance point to St Tropez town, and opposite a beach, this little charmer is one of the best-value hotels in this big-spending resort.   Reminiscent of a quaint Provencal farmhouse, it has just a dozen immaculately-kept rooms, most with terraces, and each charmingly decorated with a touch of exoticism. There’s also a generous pool with sun-loungers, a bar and barbecue. The hotel’s garden is especially lovely, whether you opt to pay extra for an al fresco hotel breakfast (it’s delicious, with freshly-squeezed orange juice and hot food prepared as you like it), or a glass of chilled rose at sunset.  The Mediterranean awaits just over the road, where you’ll find the golden sands of Bouillabaisse Beach, and there’s free parking – a real bonus in St Tropez.  " - Dana Facaros

Overall, the hotel was excellent. It was clean, the staff were lovely, and the pool was perfect. The breakfast options were good and filling enough to start your day. There were two things we learned during our stay that changed our overall score of the hotel. ||We had a room with a water view, which overlooks the busy main road as well. The morning rush of trucks serves as one hell of a wake-up call. The back of the hotel is tranquil, so it's likely not to have these problems. What made the issue worse is that the air conditioning in the room isn't that powerful, which resulted in the windows being open more and letting more noise in the room. ||Overall, it was a good hotel, and we would stay there again. We would pick a room off the main road.

Fantastic service and great rooms! A last minute decision to visit St. Tropez. They contacted us to see if we needed help with anything before our stay. They booked beach club and dinner reservations for us so we didn't need to worry about anything. Great service throughout our stay. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Easy 10 minute walk into town.

I’m writing this review because I couldn’t respond directly to the comment they left under Soo Cho’s review — I stayed with her during the same visit. We were charged €6 for minibar items we never touched. After raising the issue, they “investigated” and admitted there was a housekeeping error, eventually refunding the amount (Attaching their response as evidence). However, later messages denied any responsibility, which is incredibly dishonest. I am not surprised because every single word they say is either excuse or lie. The room itself was in awful condition for what’s supposed to be a 4-star hotel. The door handle was broken, which they said they will have to fix it after a long summer, and told us to call them every single time we needed to enter. Is this what 4-star hotel does lol?Completely absurd and inconvenient. And funny that he himself was struggling to open the door and had to try multiple times. The window curtain was also faulty, which other guests seem to have complained about before—so clearly they know and just don’t update it to save money. To make things worse, they mentioned an “upgrade”—which is laughable. The room looked nothing like a 4-star or an upgrade. It was poorly maintained and felt like a complete scam so we did not even know that was an upgraded room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Dishonest management, poor facilities, and zero accountability. We can tell by other bad reviews and hope this review helps anyone who plans to stay there.

This hotel is a complete scam. The hotel incorrectly charged us for the minibar we NEVER used, which should never happen to anyone. (We've never used a minibar in our entire lives lol). They don't even bother to trust their guests -- what happened to French people's hospitality? We keep telling them we didn't use it, but they don't trust us! lol. What if someone else like a maid drank it and charge it to us? They are not willing to even consider an alternative scenario. Also, we booked 2 rooms of an equal room rate, and in one of the rooms, it's almost impossible to lock the door (the front desk told us to call them every time we needed to lock the door because the door isn't locking well, which is nonsense lol). What's worse, the door of our room is GLASS with a curtain, which means everyone can see us from outside. It's really not safe and not a 4 star standard to have a GLASS front door. They think a curtain would cover it, which is a joke, it does not even close completely. I've never seen a glass front door in a hotel in my entire life.

Wow, what can I say.... this is our 2nd year returning and we have booked for next year already! This place is exactly what we need every year, it's our little peace haven! Hugo, you are amazing! You have introduced us to restraunts which we have enjoyed and on our list to revisit. The pool is gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet! We like the 20 minute walk to the main part of town and our favourite little bakery. Roll on September 2026!

We had a beautiful stay at this lovely hotel! It is gorgeous inside and our room had a fabulous sea view from the balcony and the bathroom! The decor was delightful for a girls trip! Breakfast was delicious and available until noon! The staff were incredible to us. A special thank you to Hugo who went above and beyond to make our trip excellent!

The hotel was disappointing in several ways. Breakfast was not buffet style and was very basic. They only provided complimentary bottled water on the first day, and after that it was charged. I was also surprised during my husband’s birthday – any services they offered came with extra charges, and we were not informed in advance that these would be paid services. In all my travels to many cities and countries, I have never experienced such a policy at a hotel.

Honestly - this place was incredible! We travelled a long way from Australia to come to SOF and this place instantly felt like a home away from home. Location was great, room was perfect and super clean and service was great. We will be staying again and highly recommend to anyone traveling.
