Le Mouillage | Best places to stay in Cote d'Azur

"Right near the entrance point to St Tropez town, and opposite a beach, this little charmer is one of the best-value hotels in this big-spending resort.   Reminiscent of a quaint Provencal farmhouse, it has just a dozen immaculately-kept rooms, most with terraces, and each charmingly decorated with a touch of exoticism. There’s also a generous pool with sun-loungers, a bar and barbecue. The hotel’s garden is especially lovely, whether you opt to pay extra for an al fresco hotel breakfast (it’s delicious, with freshly-squeezed orange juice and hot food prepared as you like it), or a glass of chilled rose at sunset.  The Mediterranean awaits just over the road, where you’ll find the golden sands of Bouillabaisse Beach, and there’s free parking – a real bonus in St Tropez.  " - Dana Facaros

We had a beautiful stay at this lovely hotel! It is gorgeous inside and our room had a fabulous sea view from the balcony and the bathroom! The decor was delightful for a girls trip! Breakfast was delicious and available until noon! The staff were incredible to us. A special thank you to Hugo who went above and beyond to make our trip excellent!

Honestly - this place was incredible! We travelled a long way from Australia to come to SOF and this place instantly felt like a home away from home. Location was great, room was perfect and super clean and service was great. We will be staying again and highly recommend to anyone traveling.

Beautiful, clean and great location! Upon check-in, we were greeted by Gilles, who was extremely welcoming, kind and helpful. Did not find the rest of the staff as friendly, but he more than made up for them. Short 10ish minute walk into city center. If you get to the farthest side of St Tropez, it might be 20 minute walk home. Highly recommend!

We left this property after the first night. Located on the main (noisy) road into Saint Tropez (15 min walk into the main area) We travel very often and the service we received here was the worst we have ever experienced. Staff were very unenthusiastic unhelpful and unwelcoming. The communal areas are well kept but this property lacks character and charm. We were presented with the breakfast menu but this was very underwhelming and by that point didn’t hold out much hope for it so went elsewhere. Lots of choice around the port. |I would say it’s ok for a one night stop over but certainly not a good option for a longer stay. There much nicer options in Saint Tropez for the same cost.||The room we were allocated was very basic, upon asking for an alternative or to pay for an upgrade we were told it was impossible. Problems with the facilities in the bathroom and the location of the room was certainly less than private. No robes or water provided in the room. Uncomfortable bedding and the air conditioning seemed very erratic. We don’t usually write reviews but felt compelled too on this property as for over £400 GBP per night felt it was unacceptable and very disappointing.

This place was so disappointing on so many levels. The staff and service was utterly woeful. The location is not as advertised and is a half hour walk along a main road to anything good. The room? Where do I begin. No lampshades on the bedside lights, and horrendously damp musty smell coming from the curtains. Those same curtains barely covered the window, which looked out into reception. Meaning we had no privacy and people stood outside the room taking phonecalls. The bed felt cheap and needed replacing, and the toilet cistern was broken so when you flushed the toilet the valve stayed open and would continually refill. The 'air conditioner' was not fit for purpose and was so loud and rattled that you couldn't use it at night. I reported these things to the staff at the front desk politely, and they did sweet FA to rectify any of it. One male member of staff was so nonchalant about the whole thing that we actually checked out the next morning and went to a far superior hotel. I had to contact our credit card provider for a refund, which I'll add the hotel have contested and fought as hard as they could. This place is a rip off and a dump. Take your money elsewhere. On a personal note to the owners or staff who I hope read this. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Taking people's hard earned money and giving so little in return as well as a foul attitude. My only hope is that some people read this review and heed my advice. Hotel Mouillage only want your money. Nothing else. Avoid.

We stayed the last 2 nights, 9/15&16. First night was fine but last night was terrible. We had no power, including lights. We had to leave at 6:15 am to get to Nice for our flight. With no lights, it was a disaster packing. We weren’t able to shower and get ready with a full day of travel ahead of us. Also, the stairs were dangerous in the dark. The gentleman at the front desk had no idea how to get the power on. We left late and called the manager asking for a refund of the last night or a partial credit. He was very rude and said we must have plugged something wrong in to cause the outage. This simply wasn’t true. We plugged nothing in overnight just like the first night. He did say his guy at the front should have known how to restart the power yet he was not willing to give even a partial credit. We did not get the full usage of the room we booked. When I said I’d refuse the charge with my credit card company, he just said,”Go ahead and see where you get.. it will be your word against mine”

After leaving Nice we drove the coastal road to St Tropez and decided to stay at this lovely boutique hotel.|The staff were very friendly, parking was available onsite.|Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great the afternoon we arrived, however we still walked into the town centre. It was an easy flat walk that took about 6-10 minutes.|Our room was upstairs and no elevator available, so you’d need to carry luggage. Something to consider if this is an issue for you.|Room had all amenities we needed. Clean & tidy. Lovely view of the water from our room.|Breakfast the next morning was delicious.

We were very excited about our holiday to St Tropez...first we've had without the kids for a while!|We were "WOWED" the moment we entered the gates.|We got the feeling instantly that we selected the right place!|Staff showed us to our room and explained everything in detail.|The rooms were fantastic, and we booked a garden/pool view room, and we felt we picked the right room for us!|We had our room cleaned daily with fresh towels.|You're given a complementary beach bag and slidders....nice touch!|Smart tv to enjoy netflix, etc, in the evening.|The air con was good and was easy to use.|The only negative I would mention is the mini fridge. Our water stayed cooler in the room than it did using the fridge. This made us not want to use the mini bar items as they were all warm. Staff did provide us with ice on request. Maybe an upgrade to the fridges to store water would be helpful!|The pool was very relaxed and we enjoyed our quiet time spent around the pool with our drinks! You could order drinks or snacks to have around the pool, your room, or on the patio.|Breakfast and lunch - we enjoyed our breakfast. It's continental, but bacon and eggs are also options, but we never wanted to be too full for lunch.....|The staff were very helpful and booked us restraunts of their recommendations and also helped us book a hut at Club 55 beach club.|We are literally sitting at the train station on our way home, looking to re-book for 2025!|Thank you for an amazing holiday, and we can't wait to return!|If you're looking for a relaxed holiday with a romantic vibe, this is the place!
