Where to Stay in Paris (Updated 2025)

"I found this four-star on a quiet Montmartre street to offer great value with rustic charm—exposed beams, vintage furniture, and soft pastel colors—and while the rooms aren’t huge they’re colorful and bright and include free Wi‑Fi, a coffee/tea maker, minibar, desk, and flatscreen TV; bathrooms are a bit dated but clean and the water pressure is great." - Matthew Kepnes

The 8 Best Hotels in Paris (Updated 2025)

"Tucked on a quiet street in Montmartre, I find this cute four-star hotel charming for its rustic feel—exposed beams, vintage furniture, soft pastels, and floral fabrics create a relaxing atmosphere. Rooms are colorful, bright, and not huge (as with most Paris hotels) but include free Wi‑Fi, a coffee/tea maker, minibar, desk, and flatscreen TV; bathrooms are a bit dated but spotless and have great water pressure. A continental breakfast is served in a cozy vaulted cellar below the hotel (for an extra charge), and at just a three-minute walk to the Moulin Rouge, the location is unbeatable for the class and affordability it offers." - Matthew Kepnes

Hotel Le Relais Montmartre | Best places to stay in Paris

"The friendly Relais Montmartre purrs with homely charm, yet is only steps from picturesque Montmartre, above, and the drag shows, clubs and concert venues of Pigalle below. Floral fabrics and engravings give the 26 rooms a country cottage-style charm, while providing modern comforts such as air-conditioning and minibars. But it’s the beams painted pink, orange, purple or blue that are particularly adorable. Downstairs, relax by the fire in winter or in the courtyard in summer. It’s great for exploring Montmartre and Pigalle, but you’ll need to hop on the metro for other sights. " - Anna Brooke

Google
After arriving at our initial hotel in the Saint Pierre area of Paris, we took one look at our room and checked straight out. We have stayed on Lepic Street before so it was a quick Google to find a hotel in that area and thank goodness for the staff at Le Relais Montmarte. They answered at 10:30pm, informed us they had one room left and within 10 minutes, we were standing in their reception and all our concerns had melted away.|From the moment we pulled up, we knew we'd made the right decision- the impressive wine machine in reception certainly helped ;-)! The chap on reception was so calming and although it was late, made us feel so welcome and explained everything we needed to know. |Our room 202 was small but absolutely perfectly functional and had everything you needed for a pleasant stay. The decor was great and the space was well utilised. Wardrobe had plenty of storage, a full length mirror, iron/ironing board and a safe that was free to use. |There was also a mini-bar (chargeable), hair dryer, toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities and USB- B charger points by the bed along with EU plug sockets. The wifi was also strong.|We were offered breakfast but we had already made plans, we did not take it but the breakfast room looked lovely, along with the courtyard that would be especially welcome in the Spring and Summer. |The reception was a highlight; it really felt like you were stepping into a Parisian home with comofrtable seating, a refreshment stand and fireplace. We took advantage of the wine machine (chargeable) and had a wine in the reception area before heading to the Moulin Rouge. |The location is perfect- it's a fantastic safe area with everything on the doorstep including a corner shop and pharmacy. Moulin Rouge is a 2 minute walk away along with the Metro station. BUT if like us you have already done the main tourist sights, then there really is so much to do in walking distance from the hotel so we didn't use the Metro once.|This hotel is an absolute gem and for the price point, we wouldn't stay anywhere else. I wouldn't even bother paying triple the price and staying in a 5* hotel when you have a 4* hotel as good as this that ticks all the boxes, and more.|We will be back- thank you for saving our weekend!

We like to stay in Montmarte when visiting Paris so this is our third hotel in the area. Room was smaller but this is what we have come to expect for Parisian Hotels. Enough space for two twin beds and plenty of closet space. The bathroom had a shower which did take a longer time to warm up and had available shower gel and shampoo. Our room had a mini fridge that did have bar items at extra charge. We re-jigged items and used it to keep our drinks cool. There was a G20 grocery store close by for drinks and snacks for our stay. Hotel is up the hill (important to know if you have mobility issues) from the metro but only a 5ish minute walk away. Friendly staff, clean hotel and amazing location and would stay here again.

Great location. Double glazed windows so quiet at night. Comfortable beds. Beautiful quality bed linen. Wonderful toiletries. Friendly and helpful staff. Fabulous collection of art books and comfortable seating in reception. The best breakfast EVER. We'll be back.

Great location, clean, well appointed and quiet. The staff were really helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel shows a lot of attention to detail such as a good bluetooth speaker, and a bathtub as well as a shower. Would definitely stay again on return to Paris.

The location is excellent, within walking distance to the metro and bus stations. The rooms are ok in size, small as usual in European hotels but enough for 2-3 people in a room (only small space to walk around the beds though). We booked 2 rooms, in 1 room are 2 adults and on the 2nd room 2 adults and 1 child (young teen). The first room was smaller than the 2nd one which had a sofa bed rolled out. The 5th floor room (2nd room) has windows/ceilings that extend into the room which makes the room smaller. The bathrooms are nicely furnished, even had electronic bidet controls on the wall. There is even a an electric towel dryer/rack. We appreciated the free water (tap water carafe) and espresso machine with free coffee everyday. The only complaint is the tiny elevators (which we were not used to in the US), as it can only fit max of 2 people at a time (with carryon luggages only - large check in luggages might be problematic). The staff were all very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and has AC. Would definitely recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a wonderful stay at Hotel Le Rais Montmartre in Paris. The aromas throughout the hotel were beautiful, and the whole place felt welcoming and warm. The staff were very friendly, and everything was tidy and clean. I really appreciated the good coffee machine in the room, and the tasty cookies provided at the relaxation lounge were a lovely touch. The bedroom was spotless, with beautiful ornaments and a cozy atmosphere. A truly charming and comfortable stay in Montmartre!

Very nice clean and quiet hotel very upscale in walking distance of most everything in Montmartre. Staff very accommodating. Nice downstairs buffet available. Small elevator, so travel light.

A delightful central spot to stay in Montmartre. Cheap to get there by uber from the station. Easy check in.. staff very welcoming. Rooms are spotlessly clean, lively pristine bedding and a super comfy, quiet sleep. It's our second stay there.

Yelp
Quintessentially Parisian, the Hôtel Relais Montmartre is an ideal pick for the traveler wanting an Amélie-like experience while visiting the City of Light. Situated on a small one way street near Rue Lepic and Rue Des Abbesses in the shadow of the Sacre Cœur, you're in easy walking distance of charming creperies, boulangeries and boutiques. And the hilly streets near the hotel beg to be strolled. I was shocked by the friendly reception I got when I turned up here and even more so when the man who checked me in offered me multiple wifi access codes for my different devices; that's a first for me in Paris! Not only is the hotel ideal for a romantic jaunt, the business traveler can also get work done here. The lift is super slow so I recommend taking the stairs (what better way to work off that pain au chocolat?) But that's the only complaint I have about the place. Sadly, I had but one short night at the reasonably priced (I've often paid more and gotten less in Paris) Hôtel Relais Montmartre but it's somewhere I'd love to return to whether for business or pleasure.

Yelp
Excellent small hotel in the Montmartre district. On a quiet street but within a few steps of a bustling neighborhood with many cafes, Patisseries , markets, etc. Easy walk to Montmartre Cemetry,Sacre Couer or Moulin Rouge. Clean rooms immaculate bathrooms very modern plumbing/showers, good WiFi, amiable staff. Plenty of receptacles. Excellent lighting in the room and windows that open to let in fresh air if desired. Air conditioning was efficient.

Yelp
There are few times that just about everything is perfectly lovely with a hotel. But this one has it right. Thus boutique hotel is full of French charm and warm hospitality. The room was bright, clean, well equipped and welcoming. Breakfast, in the splendid cellar, is lovely. Staff all professional, warm AND friendly: always accommodating. Terrific part of Paris - Montmartre is full of authentic local charm and restaurants brimming with locals. Will most definitely return.

Yelp
The Hôtel Relais Montmartre came recommended by a fellow Yelper, and I was not disappointed! A quaint, cozy boutique hotel around the corner from the Moulin Rouge, during the day the neighborhood isn't infested by other tourists - only you. Also in the area, many cute restaurants, mostly reasonably priced ($$) that are filled with locals. A little farther from the touristy sites (Louvre, Eiffel Tower), but manageable if you're willing to figure out the bus system. As for the accommodations, we paid for the cheapest rooms and was placed in one on the ground floor next to the stairs, but did not even notice any noise from passing foot traffic. Clean room, full-sized mattress, spacious (a little dated) bathroom with only a shower. One night, we brought back dinner to eat in the ground floor patio, and were pleasantly surprised when the staff offered us proper plates and cutlery for our meal. In summary, Hôtel Relais Montmartre offered a very comfortable and friendly stay in a quaint, less-touristy neighborhood, a great Paris boutique hotel experience. Note: Free Wifi available.

Yelp
Hotel Relais Montmartre is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are clean. The beds are very comfortable. The towels are large. The air conditioning works excellently and cools the room down very quickly. The rooms even have USB outlets which are perfect for charging cell phones! The staff is polite and friendly...they graciously let me print out my boarding pass and let me borrow an adapter. The location is between the famous Moulin Rouge and Sacred Heart Church. If you are looking for an affordable and comfortable hotel in Paris, the Hotel Relais Montmartre is an excellent choice!
