Where to Stay in Paris (Updated 2025)

"I found this four-star on a quiet Montmartre street to offer great value with rustic charm—exposed beams, vintage furniture, and soft pastel colors—and while the rooms aren’t huge they’re colorful and bright and include free Wi‑Fi, a coffee/tea maker, minibar, desk, and flatscreen TV; bathrooms are a bit dated but clean and the water pressure is great." - Matthew Kepnes

The 8 Best Hotels in Paris (Updated 2025)

"Tucked on a quiet street in Montmartre, I find this cute four-star hotel charming for its rustic feel—exposed beams, vintage furniture, soft pastels, and floral fabrics create a relaxing atmosphere. Rooms are colorful, bright, and not huge (as with most Paris hotels) but include free Wi‑Fi, a coffee/tea maker, minibar, desk, and flatscreen TV; bathrooms are a bit dated but spotless and have great water pressure. A continental breakfast is served in a cozy vaulted cellar below the hotel (for an extra charge), and at just a three-minute walk to the Moulin Rouge, the location is unbeatable for the class and affordability it offers." - Matthew Kepnes

Hotel Le Relais Montmartre | Best places to stay in Paris

"The friendly Relais Montmartre purrs with homely charm, yet is only steps from picturesque Montmartre, above, and the drag shows, clubs and concert venues of Pigalle below. Floral fabrics and engravings give the 26 rooms a country cottage-style charm, while providing modern comforts such as air-conditioning and minibars. But it’s the beams painted pink, orange, purple or blue that are particularly adorable. Downstairs, relax by the fire in winter or in the courtyard in summer. It’s great for exploring Montmartre and Pigalle, but you’ll need to hop on the metro for other sights. " - Anna Brooke

Great location. Double glazed windows so quiet at night. Comfortable beds. Beautiful quality bed linen. Wonderful toiletries. Friendly and helpful staff. Fabulous collection of art books and comfortable seating in reception. The best breakfast EVER. We'll be back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a wonderful stay at Hotel Le Rais Montmartre in Paris. The aromas throughout the hotel were beautiful, and the whole place felt welcoming and warm. The staff were very friendly, and everything was tidy and clean. I really appreciated the good coffee machine in the room, and the tasty cookies provided at the relaxation lounge were a lovely touch. The bedroom was spotless, with beautiful ornaments and a cozy atmosphere. A truly charming and comfortable stay in Montmartre!

A well situated hotel, not far from the Sacre Coeur and restaurants/cafes, but in a quiet street. Helpful staff on hand. Our room provided all that we needed, with an especially comfortable bed, bathroom facilities and nice fluffy, warmed towels. Only little point was AV control, which got a bit chilly and toilet in a bit of a strange position. Other than that, a great stay and would recommend!

Great location, clean, well appointed and quiet. The staff were really helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel shows a lot of attention to detail such as a good bluetooth speaker, and a bathtub as well as a shower. Would definitely stay again on return to Paris.

The location is excellent, within walking distance to the metro and bus stations. The rooms are ok in size, small as usual in European hotels but enough for 2-3 people in a room (only small space to walk around the beds though). We booked 2 rooms, in 1 room are 2 adults and on the 2nd room 2 adults and 1 child (young teen). The first room was smaller than the 2nd one which had a sofa bed rolled out. The 5th floor room (2nd room) has windows/ceilings that extend into the room which makes the room smaller. The bathrooms are nicely furnished, even had electronic bidet controls on the wall. There is even a an electric towel dryer/rack. We appreciated the free water (tap water carafe) and espresso machine with free coffee everyday. The only complaint is the tiny elevators (which we were not used to in the US), as it can only fit max of 2 people at a time (with carryon luggages only - large check in luggages might be problematic). The staff were all very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and has AC. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed staying here. We felt that the staff was super attentive and kind, and that the location was top notch. We will be staying here again whenever we return to Paris someday. The breakfast is fantastic. The room was great as well and they cleaned it very nicely each day.

We stayed here for 3 nights in early May 2025. On the whole we enjoyed it; the location is great, right in the heart of Montmartre, yet the ambience in the hotel is tranquil and on the whole quiet. The staff were helpful and available if needed. Cleanliness was very good.||There were some things we were not happy with. The location of our room (room 4 if you’re interested) was on the ground floor at street level. The windows were directly adjacent to the street outside. There were net curtains and shutters to provide privacy but when the shutters were shut the room was dark, and when they were open we never really knew if people could see inside. This was a real disappointment. ||The room itself was small and the layout made it hard for two people to use the cupboard for storing clothes etc. The toilet, which was separate to the bathroom, was so small that when we were seated we had to keep our legs to one side. ||We booked online from London direct on the hotel’s website. We made our booking 7 weeks prior to our stay. Although the site's photographs showed bigger, so-called ‘superior’ rooms, we were unable to book them. One such photo is displayed next to this review as I write but is most definitely not of the room we stayed in. We tried many times to book a superior room on the website but somehow we couldn’t. I suspect the hotel restricts the booking of these bigger rooms to certain groups of people but I can’t be sure.||We didn’t book breakfast at the hotel and we were glad we didn’t. The area is full of great places with terraces to have breakfast in the sun.||We had a great stay overall but we doubt we would return to the same place.

Lovely little boutique hotel in beautiful Montmatre. Quiet, so comfortable, lovely clean well appointed rooms and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Close to great restaurants and cafes and away from the bustle of central Paris yet close enough with excellent transport links - would absolutely recommend!

Yelp
Quintessentially Parisian, the Hôtel Relais Montmartre is an ideal pick for the traveler wanting an Amélie-like experience while visiting the City of Light. Situated on a small one way street near Rue Lepic and Rue Des Abbesses in the shadow of the Sacre Cœur, you're in easy walking distance of charming creperies, boulangeries and boutiques. And the hilly streets near the hotel beg to be strolled. I was shocked by the friendly reception I got when I turned up here and even more so when the man who checked me in offered me multiple wifi access codes for my different devices; that's a first for me in Paris! Not only is the hotel ideal for a romantic jaunt, the business traveler can also get work done here. The lift is super slow so I recommend taking the stairs (what better way to work off that pain au chocolat?) But that's the only complaint I have about the place. Sadly, I had but one short night at the reasonably priced (I've often paid more and gotten less in Paris) Hôtel Relais Montmartre but it's somewhere I'd love to return to whether for business or pleasure.

Yelp
Excellent small hotel in the Montmartre district. On a quiet street but within a few steps of a bustling neighborhood with many cafes, Patisseries , markets, etc. Easy walk to Montmartre Cemetry,Sacre Couer or Moulin Rouge. Clean rooms immaculate bathrooms very modern plumbing/showers, good WiFi, amiable staff. Plenty of receptacles. Excellent lighting in the room and windows that open to let in fresh air if desired. Air conditioning was efficient.

Yelp
There are few times that just about everything is perfectly lovely with a hotel. But this one has it right. Thus boutique hotel is full of French charm and warm hospitality. The room was bright, clean, well equipped and welcoming. Breakfast, in the splendid cellar, is lovely. Staff all professional, warm AND friendly: always accommodating. Terrific part of Paris - Montmartre is full of authentic local charm and restaurants brimming with locals. Will most definitely return.

Yelp
The Hôtel Relais Montmartre came recommended by a fellow Yelper, and I was not disappointed! A quaint, cozy boutique hotel around the corner from the Moulin Rouge, during the day the neighborhood isn't infested by other tourists - only you. Also in the area, many cute restaurants, mostly reasonably priced ($$) that are filled with locals. A little farther from the touristy sites (Louvre, Eiffel Tower), but manageable if you're willing to figure out the bus system. As for the accommodations, we paid for the cheapest rooms and was placed in one on the ground floor next to the stairs, but did not even notice any noise from passing foot traffic. Clean room, full-sized mattress, spacious (a little dated) bathroom with only a shower. One night, we brought back dinner to eat in the ground floor patio, and were pleasantly surprised when the staff offered us proper plates and cutlery for our meal. In summary, Hôtel Relais Montmartre offered a very comfortable and friendly stay in a quaint, less-touristy neighborhood, a great Paris boutique hotel experience. Note: Free Wifi available.

Yelp
Hotel Relais Montmartre is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are clean. The beds are very comfortable. The towels are large. The air conditioning works excellently and cools the room down very quickly. The rooms even have USB outlets which are perfect for charging cell phones! The staff is polite and friendly...they graciously let me print out my boarding pass and let me borrow an adapter. The location is between the famous Moulin Rouge and Sacred Heart Church. If you are looking for an affordable and comfortable hotel in Paris, the Hotel Relais Montmartre is an excellent choice!
